Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Isamu Sneaks Back to Konoha

"Have some faith in me. It's just a few major nations. At worst, if I lose, I die. As for my goal, I just want to challenge the top-tier powerhouses," Isamu said nonchalantly.

"Just a few major nations? Just want to challenge top-tier powerhouses? I think you've lost your mind! No one would do this unless they've had a stroke for ten years!"

"If you had assisted me properly, and waited for me to take the Hokage position, we could have united the Land of Fire and the smaller allied countries under Konoha. Our chances against the major nations would have been much higher. I really don't know what you're thinking!" Danzo grew more agitated as he spoke, nearly cursing Isamu's entire family.

"It's too late for all that now. Let's talk about the battlefield. I didn't come here today just to see you; I need your help with something." Seeing Danzo getting worked up, Isamu got straight to the point.

"If you want me to persuade Konoha not to join the fight, that's impossible. Sarutobi has already mobilized many Ninja. There's no way they'll go easy on you now. At most, I can give you verbal support," Danzo refused immediately, assuming Isamu wanted help with the upcoming battle.

"You're overthinking it. You wouldn't be able to make that call anyway. I'm here for something else—something you can definitely help with." Isamu rolled his eyes, thinking Danzo was being overly dramatic.

"Not that? Hmph, I won't do anything that betrays Konoha either." Danzo was clearly irritated at the jab. What a sharp-tongued brat.

"Relax, I won't ask you to betray Konoha. I just need you to give Hiruzen Sarutobi a suggestion at a critical moment. I'm sure he'll agree when the time comes."

"A suggestion? What kind of suggestion? You'd better not do anything reckless." Danzo's interest was piqued.

"Don't worry. The Konoha higher-ups will agree as well. You just need to..."

Isamu leaned in with a faint smile and explained his plan.

"!!! Nani! Using Edo Tensei to resurrect the First Hokage? Where did you learn about this Ninjutsu?!" Danzo stared at Isamu in shock.

This forbidden technique had been created by Senju Tobirama. Because of how unnatural it was, it had been sealed away. Aside from the Hokage and a select few, almost no one knew about it.

"Did you sneak a look at the Scroll of Seals?!" Danzo demanded.

"Who would bother reading that thing? It's full of techniques that either destroy your body or turn you into something inhuman. With that time, I could create my own," Isamu said dismissively—though inwardly, he admitted some of them were actually useful.

Danzo still had doubts, but when he thought about Isamu's talent, he let it go. Someone like him wouldn't need to rely on stolen techniques.

"This kind of thing—tampering with the dead, and the First Hokage at that—do you really think Sarutobi will agree?"

"Heh, once I push him into a corner, he'll have no choice," Isamu said with a calm smile.

"So confident? Then tell me—why resurrect the First Hokage? Aren't you afraid he'll kill you the moment he returns?"

"Fighting the major nations is just for fun. My real goal is to test myself against someone like the First Hokage. Even if I lose, I won't regret it."

He sounded righteous, but inwardly he grumbled:

If it weren't for the system mission, who would bother going to war? Being lazy is much better.

"Madman. You've completely lost it. But fine, I'll help you. Just don't die too quickly—I'd hate to miss seeing your head roll," Danzo sneered.

"Careful. If the major villages can't defeat me and even the First Hokage falls, I might just clean up a few unnecessary people along the way," Isamu replied with a grin.

Danzo's expression darkened. That threat clearly included him.

"That's enough. I'll see you on the battlefield. One last thing—you're far more suited to be Hokage than Hiruzen Sarutobi. Goodbye."

With that, Isamu vanished.

A faint smile crept onto Danzo's lips. He clearly enjoyed those words, though he still muttered, "Stupid brat. You'll die sooner or later."

Meanwhile, at Uzumaki Mito's residence…

She entered Tsunade's room carrying food. "Tsunade, come eat something. It hurts me to see you like this."

Tsunade didn't respond.

She sat curled up on the bed, eyes dull and unfocused, completely lost in thought.

Mito sighed, placed the food down, and quietly left the room.

Ever since waking from the Genjutsu, Tsunade had locked herself away. She didn't cry, didn't shout—she simply sat there in silence, day after day, as if her entire world had gone still.
