Outside the window, Isamu watched Tsunade, who looked lost and bewildered. His heart ached for her.
"Sigh… Tsunade, stay strong. I believe you're not this fragile—you can get through this."
After seeing her, Isamu left immediately and returned to the camp, afraid that if he stayed any longer, the pain in his chest would only deepen.
---
A few days after Isamu returned, Orochimaru, Sakumo Hatake, and the others also came back to Konoha. Upon arrival, they were shocked to learn that Isamu had defected—and even issued a challenge to several great nations.
Meanwhile, news spread across the Ninja World: the Third Raikage, Ei, had summoned the Kage of the Five Great Villages to convene the second Five Kage Summit in the Land of Lightning (the first having been organized by Senju Hashirama).
The Great Ninja Villages, once enemies, temporarily cast aside their hatred and gathered together.
---
"I called this summit, so I'll speak first," said Third Raikage Ei.
"Aside from Konoha, you've all received Uchiha Isamu's declaration of war. His goal isn't just one Village—he intends to wipe out all of us in one stroke."
"To be blunt, with his current strength, none of our Villages alone can defeat him. Even two combined might not be enough."
---
Hearing this, Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi fell into deep thought.
He had once believed Isamu would become a major figure in the Ninja World—but never imagined he would challenge the entire world.
Just how strong have you become… to dare do something like this?
Even now, Hiruzen didn't fully understand Isamu's true power.
---
"I've said all this for one reason," Ei continued.
"I propose we unite and eliminate Uchiha Isamu. What do you all say?"
---
"Humph! He killed many of my Sand Ninja. I will make him pay," said Hata Saemon, slamming the table.
"I agree. Isamu must die," added Hozuki Eiji.
"Needless to say, I'm in," Ōnoki said coldly.
All three had suffered direct losses. Even without this summit, they would have joined forces.
---
"Good. Then the Four Great Nations are united," Ei said, turning to Konoha.
"And you, Third Hokage? You wouldn't shield him, would you?"
---
Hiruzen stood immediately.
"Do not speak recklessly. When did I ever say I would shield him? Uchiha Isamu is now a Rogue Ninja and has nothing to do with Konoha."
He decisively cut ties.
---
Ōnoki sneered.
"Rogue Ninja? Who knows if he wasn't sent by Konoha? Maybe you planned to use him to weaken us all."
The other Kage turned toward Hiruzen with suspicion.
---
Hiruzen snapped back:
"Ōnoki, stop your nonsense. You're still bitter about past reparations."
"I can say this clearly—Isamu's actions have nothing to do with Konoha. When he defected, he even injured me. If we intended to annex your nations, I wouldn't be standing here today!"
---
Ōnoki smirked.
"No matter what you say, he came from Konoha. You bear responsibility."
Hiruzen clenched his teeth in anger.
---
Seeing tensions rise, Ei intervened.
"Enough. Third Hokage—will you join us or not?"
---
"Of course," Hiruzen replied firmly.
"As Hokage, it is my duty to eliminate a Rogue Ninja from my Village."
He had no choice. Refusal would have been disastrous.
---
"Good. Then let's discuss the details."
---
The Five Kage proceeded to negotiate troop deployments, logistics, and command structure.
When it ended, Hiruzen left with a grim expression.
He had gained nothing—and had likely been deliberately suppressed.
The other Kage exchanged satisfied smiles. With Konoha being the strongest, and the enemy coming from there, it was only natural to pressure them.
---
After the summit, each Kage returned to prepare for war.
---
One month later, at the northern border—
Forty Uchiha stood in perfect formation, silent and resolute, facing their clan head.
Isamu scanned them calmly.
"Today, the Five Great Villages march against us."
"I've said before—we will reclaim the Uchiha's glory and stand at the summit once more."
"For the clan… and for the families behind us—we cannot lose."
---
"Though the enemy is strong, we are not weak."
"This time, we will ensure they never return—and show them the true power of the Uchiha."
---
"On the battlefield, I will not tolerate retreat."
"Even in death, you will fall while slaying the enemy."
"The Uchiha do not harbor cowards. Do you understand?"
---
"We understand!" they roared in unison.
---
"Good."
Isamu nodded, his eyes filled with confidence.
"As long as you hold this spirit… victory is inevitable."
