Fairy Tail: The Journey

Chapter 17

Kai arrived at Hargeon Port and immediately headed toward the docks, where panicked merchants were shouting and scrambling. He raised his hand calmly, showing his guild mark. "Yo, I'm Kai, S-Class mage from Fairy Tail. Can you tell me in which direction that Sea Serpent is?"

The merchants froze for a second, then relief washed over their faces. "Fairy Tail… thank goodness," one of them said, pointing toward the open sea. "It's that way. Be careful—it's destroying everything." Kai nodded once, already turning.

Without wasting time, he stepped onto the water as a jet ski appeared beneath him from his inventory. The engine roared to life as he sped forward across the waves. Behind him, the merchants stared in disbelief. "Wait… is he going alone?" one muttered. "Is that kid insane?"

Kai rode across the ocean for a while before his instincts flared. He jumped in sky as he stored the jet ski. just as a massive water cannon blasted through the spot he had been. "Whoa… that had quite the power in it," he muttered mid-air, as he sensed the monster.

His gaze sharpened as the Sea Serpent revealed itself, its massive body stretching nearly a hundred meters. "Tsk… worthy of being called a lesser water dragon," Kai said, already tossing multiple Flying Thunder God tags into the water. The marked seals floated across the surface like silent anchors.

Another water blast surged toward him, but Kai vanished instantly, reappearing at a floting tag. As he swam "Quite the fiery temper you've got," he smirked, summoning Kyojitsu as the crimson blade materialized in his hand. The serpent hissed and lunged, jaws wide enough to swallow him whole.

Kai threw a tag into the air and teleported upward, narrowly avoiding a rising pillar of water. He reappeared on another floating tag, barely touching the surface before vanishing again. "Tch… if only Juvia or Aquarius were here," he muttered, dodging another relentless assault.

After a few exchanges, his expression turned serious. "Alright… that's enough." Golden flames erupted around his body, the ocean around him beginning to boil. He swam through the scalding water effortlessly, his flames both destructive and controlled.

The fire surged into Kyojitsu as Kai teleported beside the serpent and slashed.

The Serpent dived in water. The blade cut deep, leaving a big mark as blood spilled into the sea. The creature roared in fury, summoning multiple water pillars, but Kai vanished again before they could trap him.

He Teleported high into the sky, using his tags to reposition mid-air. Flames wrapped around him as he dove down like a meteor, sending multiple fiery slashes crashing into the ocean.

The serpent burst upward in rage. "Big mistake," Kai said coldly, as he threw a tag at him. And appeared right beside it.

"Sun Breathing, Second Form: Clear Blue Sky." His blade flashed. In an instant, the serpent's head separated from its body, the ocean falling eerily silent as blood spread across the waves. Kai exhaled slowly, storing the massive corpse into his inventory.

As he dropped, a jet ski appeared beneath him again, catching him smoothly. "Well… that was troublesome," he sighed, golden flames drying his clothes and hair as if nothing had happened. He turned back toward shore, already thinking about heading home.

Meanwhile, in Magnolia, Erza and Mira stood before an old, worn-down house surrounded by forest. Erza observed the area carefully. "This location is good. There's enough land for training, and it's close to the guild," she said, nodding slightly.

Mira smiled, glancing around. "And it's near Porlyusica's House. Quiet, peaceful… perfect," she added. Their eyes met, both understanding each other without words.

"So this will be it?" Mira asked. Erza nodded. "Yes. Let's take it. Kai will love this place."

They returned to the guild and entered Makarov's office together. "Master, we found the land we want," Erza said directly. Makarov smiled warmly. "Alright, let's go and buy it."

As they walked out together, Makarov couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Since they were still only fifteen, the land would be registered under his name for now. Still, watching them take this step forward made him feel like a proud grandfather.

"The kids really do grow fast…" he murmured to himself.

Meanwhile, news of their plan spread through the guild like wildfire. "WHAT?! They're building their own house?!" Natsu shouted, slamming the table. "Oi, why wasn't I invited?!"

Gray scoffed, arms crossed. "Idiot, it's not your house. Don't just invite yourself," he said, though his expression twitched. "Still… living together already? That's fast."

Wakaba sighed dramatically. "Tch… youth these days. Taking the two most beautiful girls in the guild and now building a house too…" Macao nodded beside him. "This kid Kai… he's too much."

Levy clasped her hands together. "that sounds wonderful…."

The guild buzzed with excitement, jealousy, and curiosity all at once. But beneath it all, there was warmth—because no matter what, they all knew one thing.

Fairy Tail was growing… and so were its children.
