I hand another person a weapon. I then get up and stretch. I start walking, going to find Caster.
"Oh, Legacy!"
I see Caster, I start running right at him, he looks at me with a little jump, I scared him. I ram right into him hooking my arm around his shoulder
"■■■■- what the hel-"
"guess what- training time that's what"
I start dragging him away.
"■■■■ you can't just do that!"
He doesn't seem too happy with me but what can you do?
"Hmm, I'm still paying you so train me goofy" "I am not goofy"
"Oh my bad lord goofy, the lofty child of the Han Li clan"
He lets out a long sigh, i notice a slight smile
"Are you sure you're not the goofy one here?"
"HA of course I am, you have to be something to really understand it"
I pull him into a training room. I throw a wooden plank that I cut into the shape of a sword to him and I hold one up.
"Well lord goofy?"
He shakes his head and rushes at me. I put the blade to the side of my head blocking a sideswipe. He goes right for the stab in the chest, I side steps doing a swing down.
This goes on for a while, I can tell he's holding back quite a bit but hey I'm learning that's all that matters. I never had formal training with someone who's as skilled as him so I always appreciate any extra training I could get. Soon I get hit in the face
"Aw bitch!"
He lowers his sword taking a step towards me
"You got me good legacy, I definitely have more training until I can beat you without my aspect"
He makes a face
"Who said you can beat me with it?"
"You're a speedster, freeze the ground and you can't run without slipping"
He scoffs and laughs a bit
"What a simple solution, it might actually work too."
I walk throughout Neph's camp I finally find the command center. I walk in, bingo. I speed up walking over to Cassie
"Hey Cassie, I've got some questions"
She raises her head with an inquisitive expression.
"Yes?"
"So what's the line between the senses?"
She tilts her head
"The line between the senses?"
"Yeah. My aspect gave me a new sense. I'm trying to get a better grasp of it"
She nods
"why ask me?"
"Well you had eyesight and now you're blind, who else would understand the line between the senses better?"
She slowly nods
"That's very you logic. But I think you're going for the wrong approach, don't isolate the new sense make your other senses more attuned to it. Like how connected your sense of taste is to your sense of smell"
That makes a lot of sense, its a very different approach to how I've been using it but adding them together might be the breakthrough im looking for
"Thanks Cassie ask me if you need anything"
I pat her on the shoulder she stiffens, I dont blame her I am very cold.
"Also Cassie? What like did Singer do, I've never actually listened to his music so..."
I move in the halls with Divine Flame. Most don't mess with me even with my lack of any kind of hiddenness or anything like that. Nobody wants to mess with an ascended demon or its user.
Also that and my horrid reputation. I've been hunting the nightmare creatures that have made their nest in the bright castle that is a job nobody wants to do. On top of my demon is the dead body of an awakened monster. I come to the barricade jumping past.
"Hey"
I jolt swing instantly and maybe I let out, a frankly, embarrassing scream, the person dodges to the side causing me to embed my hand into the wall. The said person is Sunny who is now staring at my arm. He starts trying not to laugh
"God damn it sun you're too damn quiet!"
I start trying to pull my arm out.
"Pfft, did I scare you that bad?"
"Yes!"
He starts laughing as I keep trying to pull my hand out.
"How the hell are you so quiet?!"
"I don't walk on the back of my feet like you do."
I frown at him
"What are you even talking about?"
He points at my feet
"You walk on the back of your feet, making your steps super loud. Like stomps"
I pull my hand out falling backwards landing on my butt
"Pfft-"
"laugh and I'll send my echo after you"
He giggles to himself as he walks away.
I ride on Divine Flame jumping over human bodies rushing through the halls. It jumps over a group of people blocking an attack from a particularly dangerous aspect.
"Changing Star."

I jump off and engage the group of guards. From what I can tell, the guard has a fire aspect so this shouldn't be too hard. As the sleeper activates his aspect, I run into the fire and stab him in the neck.
[You have killed a dormant human]
I slide back after getting hit in the shoulder breaking my shoulder. I grab my shoulder as my vision goes black for a second, it hurts a lot at that. I barely notice as the group of sleepers moves past me.
With Divine flame and Changing Star as the spearhead head the group attacks. I take some deep breaths and I jump back into the fight. Soon the battle is over, I only get some minor cuts, well other than the broken shoulder.
Neph walks over to me putting her hand on my other shoulder. I feel not quite warmth but it's clearly something similar. My arm heals, a lot slower than anyone else but it does heal. I sigh patting her on the shoulder.
"Thanks Neph"
I climb on my ice shard, and I lower my hand. She tilts her head then she smiles grabbing my hand. I pull her up and we ride back to camp.
"Effie"
I speed walk over to her
"yeah what's up dork?"
"I am not a dork, I am a nerd get it right. Anyways so Effie, I just remembered I haven't asked about your time in the dark city"
She tilts her head
"Well when I first got here I got taken in by a super powerful outersettlement hunter and a cohort of hunters. I hunted with them and all that until we went into catacombs with a cohort and got killed by the lord of the dead"
I nod
"When I first got here, I got taken in by a group of 3 hunters i hunted with them for 2 years until they died to a fallen beast. Then I hunted alone for 2 more years. About a year and a half before neph got here I hired healer."
I shrug, she pats me on the shoulder, normally it's me doing that
"I heard of those guys, they seemed like good guys"
making another sword, so many people want swords. Can't they ask for something else?
"Hey ■■■■"
I look up noticing Kai walking over. I grab i grab of arrows i made from nightmare creature bones. I hand them to him, they where for him after all. He smiles and refills his quiver.
"Hey Singer, if your going to ask for a sword or something, no you already have a memory sword."
"Oh- that wasnt what I was going to ask"
"Hm? So what do you need" he gets a sheepish look
"Well can you make me some clothes?"
I tilt my head
"What kind? Remember I still have to have get the materials"
He smiles
"Well its nothing too complicated or anything just some simple clothes"
"Well good ill also have to take your measurements and all that. First I will finish this sword as well."
I walk through the camp, I had sent Divine flame off with Neph for more fighting on the front line. I walk into the medical part of the camp yawning.
"Healer."
"I swear if you got hurt again"
Healer was in the middle of dealing with a group of injured sleepers.
"No im fine, I just dont have anyone to talk to"
I toss over a bag i made for her. She looks it over
"You've definitely gotten better..."
I grin
"Of course I have. Thats my main job around here you know. I even made that out of a fallen beast"
She slings the bag over her shoulder with a approving expression.
"Well its nice to have a new bag"
I sit down thinking for a while
"So why didnt you join the host?"
She looks over at me with a odd expression
"You know that guard you punched?"
I nod
"He kept getting a bit too comfortable with me"
I tilt my head. A bit too comfortable?
"What does that mean?"
"You know what fair enough. He kept trying to get with me and not in a romantic way"
"oh. Glad I punched him"
She tries not to laugh at that comment.
It was late at night. I had a lantern on the desk next to me as i make Kai his clothes. Thats when sunny appears at my door
"■■■■ we just got news, the guards wiped out the hunters and took the remaining artisans."
I turn around looking at him.
"The remaining hunters have joined us and we are going to fight them tomorrow."
I cough
"Holy shit. This early?"
He sighs
"well this wont be a fun fight"
I cant help but agree with that.
"Well i'd best get some sleep. I cant go into battle tired."
The next day everyone in the Changing Star camp walk towards the throne room. The battle field for today's massive battle.
When we get in the throne room. The guards are behind the captured artisans using them as human shields like fools and cowards. They'd still going to need those artisans if they win. The guard captain and the handmaiden leader are at the front. I grip my daggers this wont be easy thats for sure.
The two walk forward and.... the handmaidens leader smashes the guard captain into the floor with her war hammer. The handmaidens take out knives and stab the guards. All the guards die just like that. What the living hell just happened.... wait wait wait, Neph said before that she had a spy in the bright castle, the handmaiden leader is that spy. Holy shit holy shit. The guard leader tries to get up but its getting weaker.
I walk over a little faster then Changing Star I lift my foot and I stomp his head in, never liked that gut anyways. I think i remember when he got here, he was such a ass then he joined Gunlaug and somehow got worse. I look at the handmaiden leader and I do a thumbs up then I walk back over to everyone the blood on my boot freezing and breaking off.
Everyone but Sunny moves away from me slowly. I dont fully understand why, he was already going to die, so who cares. With that Changing Star is crowned the new bright lord, and the last bright lord.
