I come to slowly. Everything still kinda hurts. Im in a bed
"commanders awake!"
The PTV stops as many people rush over, many voices ring out, so many that I can't make out what any is saying, and quite a few people land on top of me
"Get off me you fools!"
Most do but fighter and beast stay
"Boss i thought you were dying, or worse honestly. You wouldn't stop screaming"
I push beast off
"Your hair is getting in my mouth get off"
He snickers to himself as he stands up. Fighters voice comes out without that softness.
"I don't know what you did but do not do that again"
I slowly sit up rubbing my eyes.
"Yeah it won't happen anytime soon"
We arrive back at Falcon Scott and I get out. Doll had stayed here just in case so they could not help. J and W pull up
"Hey you okay?"
J speeds walks over
"I mean good job you took out literally everything but, are you okay? You were on the floor screaming. We had to pin you down to get you even slightly healed"
I look down, I had gotten torn apart pretty badly.
"I mean ye-"
W grabs my arms
"And what are you doing"
With a shrug they gesture for ranger to come here
"getting you proper healing idiot"
I end up not needing to go to the healers. Thankfully really. I decide to go check on my newest ice shard. I had given the shard itself to the ascended I met and its been helping the guy out. With the ability to summon and desummon themselves my echos are pretty useful, mix that with how their summoned from physical objects i can hand people, their really useful.
"Hey going well?"
He looks over then smiles brightly
"Ascended ■■■■, its been a while. I hope you've been doing well, that echo you.... gave me, had been more then a little helpful"
I stop nearby him
"Well I'm glad, really I am. I can see you've definitely gained a few new scars"
He sighs deeply
"Yeah even with your echo I've still gotten hit."
I pat him on the shoulder
"Yeah even with strong echos you sometimes get hit"
We start walking
"But really that's a really weird echo i have to say."
I nod
"Yeah all of them are really weird"
I had asked that any payment of soul shards goes to it. I fix up my robe
"I must say it has quite the personality. Every time it looks at me I swear its judging me."
Oh hey was referring to personality wise
"Oh yeah all of my echos have a personality. One of my echos a spider keeps trying to pat one of my cohort members but hes terrified of it"
He snickers
"Damn i can only imagine the face he makes every time it happens"
Well that guy seemed nice. Now that I think back on it, really J and W really seemed concerned about me, and the fact I had been given a day off it shows a lot doesn't it.
"Ascended Heat seeker, it appears we need more supplies."
I nod, if I go through command it will take too long...
"I heard there's a close by shop we can go to. Trying to get any from the government will take too long and likely be worse."
She nods
"It would be best if we go now."
Beast comes out and leans a arm on her head getting a glare in response.
"I've got a few things to get myself"
Shielder moves his arm off her head
"Be professional"
wow thats quite the hostile tone.
I walk into the little corner store shielder and beast are still having their odd little argument. I leave to go get some little snacks for myself. I grab some candy, some instant meals and all that. Then I wander back to the two.
"Is that needed or is that something by you want?"
Beast laughs
"Oh does it even matter I'm sure boss won't care"
Shielder scoffs
"We have to consider the carrying capacity here, the more useless items we have the less useful items we can have"
Beast elbows her
"I'm sure boss won't mind a few extra items in that bag"
I pipe up
"Its a satchel"
The two jump back in fright.
"Boss?!"
"Ascended Heat seeker!?"
We end up paying, apparently I scared the two. Badly
"Hey boss..."
I look at him
"Why do you have 4 arms?"
I shrug
"Carry more stuff"
Beast does a half laugh half scoff thing
"Really. Just to carry more stuff"
I nod shielder puts everything in the PTV
"I can't believe I got snuck up on..."
I wander off pretty fast.
"Portal"
He jumps a little
"Yes commander?"
I lift three ready meals. He sighs putting his hand out. I put it in his hands.
Me, fighter, and portal sit around the little table eating.
"Hey commander, i kinda can't believe you remembered that I like this one kind of ready meal."
I shrug
"You said you liked it"
He looks down trying to figure out how to say something
"■■■■ number 1 you're very forgetful"
I look at my food in embarrassment
"Oh I suppose I can be quite forgetful"
Portal laughs
"Well I'm not sure thats how I'd put it but its not wrong"
I walk on the walls over to ranger and rogue.
"What's the situation?"
Rogue stretches
"Well heat seeker with those summons of yours have heavily helped lighten up the workload on the mundane and awakened. Although everything is slowly getting harder and harder."
I nod ranger shoots out another arrow. I go to grab a bow out of my satchel but im stopped by ranger.
"My apologies lead but if you go and do a bunch of strenuous work you'll rip open everything I've done."
I shrug creating a ice gun as i sit down. Rogue takes it with a smile.
"none of that you damn workaholic"
We eat some snacks i had grabbed.
"So heat seeker what is even up with those freaky summons you have?"
I shrug
"It has to do with my first nightmare. I grabbed this cool looking crown and I guess it turned into a attribute"
Ranger sighs
"I wish I could have gotten something like that"
I laugh
"You don't want the kind of first nightmare I had"
Rogue elbows me in the side and I flinch, ranger slaps the back of his head hard.
"Ow damn it. Anyways what even happened, I mean mine was pretty bad, I actually had it late so I have no doubt mine was harder then normal"
I shrug
"There was a awakened tyrant chasing me around"
The two start choking on their snacks.
