I look around the city. A city fell just like that? A whole squad was wiped out, like it was nothing? How could this happen? Maybe if... no that wouldn't have worked. What about sunny? Is sunny okay? He's close by that city and the titan is still out there.
Sunny is so strong he has to be okay. He has to be. I'm so worried about him. Maybe... maybe I should have tired to talk him out of this. I look around at the civilians who are quickly walking to their destinations who will survive? I sigh turning my head to the sky, its been night for so long now, I hope Falcon Scott can see the dawn.
I walk to my cohort their mostly resting at the moment. I climb on the roof and I close my eyes. When I open them I'm on the ivory island.

I look up at cassie.

She turns her head towards me

I nod, if i was asked then I probably would have. Its a lie that's founded on a understanding of my personality.
"Did kai say anything?"
She shakes her head
"Well. So, you think someone has a anti divination ability their selectively using on me?"
She nods
"Thats my leading theory, as for why I'm not sure but it likely stems from knowledge of your aspect."
No. I think i know who's doing it, but why. That i have frankly no clue of.

I think for a while
"Is... is sunny alive?"
I appear back in the waking world back on the roof of the PTV. I sit watching the city for a while before shielder pops her head out of the hatch.
"Ascended Heat Seeker, we have another mission"
I get up
"Do we move out now?"
She shakes her head
"No it will start in a few hours, it will be clearing a category 3 gate with a tyrant gate guardian with 2 other squads of irregulars"
I nod getting up
"I'm going to take a walk then."
I walk around the city. How many of these people will die? How many will be consumed by the spreading nightmares? How many can I even save? What even was the point of all th- a child pulls on my robe.
"Oh uh, you're awakened, right?"
I kneel down taking off my helm with a smile
"Yeah I am little buddy, do you need help?"
He nods
"Yeah, I cant find my mom!"
I nod standing up
"Well I'm a government ascended. So its my job to help you out"
His eyes light up, its kinda adorable

I nod
"Yup one of the captains of the super powerful guys"
I extend my heat sense trying not to flinch at all of the information. Bingo.
"Mommy! I met a master!"
He runs to a woman who seems deeply relieved to see him. She bends down picking him up
"Oh Jake you shouldn't run off like that"
She looks up at me
"Thank you..."
I smile
"Call me ■■■■ you'll see me around."
She smiles at me
"I'm Amanda thank you for helping find my son"
I wave my hand
"Isn't my job to help the people"
I put my helm back on and I wave as I leave.
"If its not a burden could you help me cross the street?"
I look down at the little old man and I put my hand out for him to take
"Its not a problem sir"
I lead him across the street

I get back to the PTV, I sit on the top of it for a while. After a but two other PTV's pull up

She nods J pops her head out of the PTV

I wave my hand
"Clearly, still its us, we will win this one too"
W laughs

I stretch my arms
"Well let's all get a move on then. Don't want to make this longer then it has to be"
We drive for a few hours before we finally get to the gate. I use my heat sense to get a good look at the situation.
"It likely uses mind or soul based attacks as its physically weaker. The minions seem the same, there's definitely less then with the jade queen."
W leans on my shoulder for a few seconds then removes her arm and wipes the spot off
"Well it shouldn't be too hard right?"
I nod
"If we are careful we shouldn't die"
J laughs like there's a joke only she gets. There probably is but thats her business.
J lands on top of the tyrant from a portal, I jump down from the sky into the.... off mass of creatures. They move with startling intelligence, for some reason they seem to avoid killing attacks on me. No not just me everyone else as well. I cut and slice many into pieces. They don't move normally.
Even for the minions of tyrants. They move too.... well, like one. I hear a scream as the tyrant is killed by a mix of singer and J. Its dead alr- my side is torn open. That one's heat signature changed, oh god.
I jump into the air
