With Sun Finally we make it, the last part. The road builders are close enough to the citadel to take a good long rest. Thats what everyone else does, go our drinking just like every time before. I this time don't just stay in my hotel room. Outside the citadel walls I sit on a rather large rock. Waiting.
"My oh my. You are rather bold my dear rival"
I don't turn my head up
"Do you want something out of me? Or maybe your here to blackmail me"
I hear a laugh
"No no. I'm aware enough of the fact you'll just abandon the song domain if I tell the queen"
"So. Is it the citadel you want to talk about?"
Another laugh
"No no, I'll come to you when I've figured such a thing out. I personally just want to know... why? You know, why are you a road builder. I mean it seems odd"
I look up at a puddle with mordret reflected on it
"tell me how else am I meant to get information?"
He tilts his head
"Information? Isn't that what your cohort is helping you with. You aren't the type to abuse those connections but you wouldn't just not use them. Using one of your bodies for this seems completely below you"
I tilt my head he thinks all versions of me have the same mind controlling them
"Hmm. So thats how you think it works. I didn't mean about the big things. I mean about personal public opinion"
He nods
"Well is that so?"
"Why do you keep annoying me?"
He shrugs with a clearly slightly mischievous smile
"Its harmless, I might even get bribes to leave you alone. Plus I dont have many people to talk to, most don't like me much."
He hums
"So when everything for my new citadel is ready I'll contact you."
There's a very chipper note to it.
"Castle"
The reflection tilts its head
"Hmm? Oh yes I am thinking of a castle citadel that was a good guess"
I shake my head
"Less a guess and more informed by your pathological need to take back what you view as taken from you. You had being a prince taken from you and thus it was likely you'd choose a castle"
He blinks then clearly sours
"Well maybe being known so well has its down sides."
He sighs
"I should have expected it from you."
He then disappears.
I finally go back into the large town, its too small to be a city, as i walk i hear
"Solar!"
Oh not again. The road crew comes over. Or at least the part i work with.
"Oh come on you have to go drinking with us"
I shake my head
"I would rather not."
The 5 people look pretty disappointed. Cain walks forward interlocking his arm with mine with a cheeky grin
"Come on, your too young to be stuck doing nothing but hunting all day. You awakened need to loosen up sometimes"
I stare at his arm. Then I sigh deeply
"Fine, ill go to a bar with you all but I'm not drinking"
Abel smiles and pats me on the shoulder as we start to walk. Debbie, laughs
"Well seems even you couldn't stop cain."
Rocky sighs
"I mean nobody really can, no offense dude but your pushy"
Cain laughs
"None taken"
Barb scoffs
"I would take offense"
Well she takes offense at everything so....
Over at the sword domain
"This was a bad idea!"
The large dog like echo that one of the forgotten government cohort members has, for some reason, i don't know what possessed me maybe effies boldness, or maybe Kai's willingness to go along with almost anything, i am not riding on top of the echo as it runs in circles
"Good god, stop the damn echo!"
It comes to a stop throwing me off. I land rolling finally coming to a stop. I hear beasts loud laugher.
"Oh come on, why did it have to stop that was too funny"
I slowly get up shooting the offending idiot a death glare. Shielder sighs slapping the back of his head. Their... together oddly enough. I've heard them described as a old married couple.
"Ow come on baby I didn't mean to taunt the kid but... that was really funny"
I get helped up by the master with a bunch of quick apologies.... yeah they better be sorry.
Over at ??? I walk through the halls a hand over my face. God damn it god damn it.
"Reinforce the western flank with cohort 21 and 14."
The ice figures start moving once again. I'll hold out for much longer, easily until the war ends. But this... if the puppeteer or hell even the hound master get access to this it won't end well. Even more so for the corpse controller. Putting that aside, if anyone knows my location then it would become known to mimic. I'll have to start helping take apart the minions as they come on. Other then that i'll call back war and the rest of their forces, controlling more area in the east isn't worth it. Even if i did ask for help, who could help?
