With Storm I come to suddenly. I try to sit up and I start sinking. I look down, what. Why am I floating in lava? My armor was burned away! Wait my satchel. I use snow storm to lift myself up making some ice armor as i do. I look around
"Well isn't that something."
I float over to the shrine seeing slayer drag sunless, now one arm down, up a pillar. Kai is pinned to another. Oh slayer has my satchel. I float down she grips her bow tighter i put my hands up
"Calm down I'm me"
Sunless seems pretty hurt to. I nod to him as I land
"Whats up with him."
After a few moments his eyes seem to come to
"What, the hell"
He looks at slayer
"What happened to Slayer?"
He finally fully wakes up his remaining arm flying to his now stump arm. I walk over to him, I squat down and I poke his side
"Ow! What was that for?"
I only grin in response. I walk over to slayer i nod to her broken arm
"I can try to help with that"
She stares at me. Then she suddenly hands me my satchel
"Oh thank you."
I start going through it. I've got some things for just this kind of terrible situation.
"So… do you want to tell me what happened to the day that is missing from my memory?"
I still have a chain on my neck. I should take it off
"What do you… wait. Two days that are missing from my memory?"
Wait what.
With Death as i keep on with my making the large map singer finally resummons herself. She whips her dress over floating over.
"Oh dear. It would appear storm has gotten themself into a lot of trouble"
I don't look up with a sigh.
"Isn't that obvious? I can't have contact with them and all connection to them has been cut"
She nods softly. She puts her hand over mind.
"Your overworking yourself"
My face twists in annoyance
"And? I have a job to do answer i must do it."
She sighs softly shaking her head. She floats back to her spot.
"Soon i will not be able to help once again. So do be careful."
More trouble? How am I not shocked.
With Storm As the two look at the halved monster i take out a dagger from my satchel and I start tearing into the thing.
"Oh. Oh it seems your actually going to..."
Kai seems off put at best, sunless doesn't seem shocked but clearly off put.
"Greed"
I keep going. Later i do the same to the other half. We soon find sunless's missing arm and a thread clutched in it. They look it over and I touch the chain on my neck. Oh yeah, i need to remove it.
"You're weirdly calm"
I shrug
"I'm less injured and the demon wasn't controlling me."
I start unlocking the heavy chain
"How do you know that?"
I tap the chain.
"I was almost 100% being controlled by singer, no clue how but she finds a way"
The two give me odd looks
"She can.... do that"
I nod
"yeah. Weird isnt it?"
I finally fully charge the emergency healing rocks. Well not quite rocks but lumps of charcoal that had been completely frozen over. I hand it to slayer and I do a crushing motion. She crushes it and she's mostly healed. It was something noctis made just in case. I didn't even ask, he just made it. Although they take a lot of essence. Her arm isn't fully healed but it will likely help a lot. I stand up clapping my hands together
"Well today is the day we kill a bunch of rats!"
With Sun I look over at the sun set. Its beautiful and warm. Its something I hadn't been able to see all that time. I'm glad, I'm glad that that the lord of shadows let me visit them, and take my friends away from that dark place. Well not them but the things I kept as objects to truly remember them. In the end i wasn't even the one to avenge them. I didn't kill the spider, I didn't kill Gunlaug, I didn't do almost anything for them. Its almost pathetic how much my future self relied on others. You can't survive in the dream realm alone, its true but you can't survive if you put everything you have onto others because they'll die and you'll be left to pick up yourself.
I stay above the battlefield throwing down heavily condensed ice to blow up the swarm of rats. Never ending i swear. They just never end. I have to keep moving or these damn rats would pile on top of eachother to eat me. How hungry are these things!? Slayer dances among the rats with almost ease. I must say she is incredibly skilled. Arrows sometimes hit a swarm of rats. Then with a incredibly loud boom a particularly strong arrow hits the slope and kai joins us. Soon we end up killing the last rat. I of course take some of the rat meat, not to eat but just in case.
I take out a few boxes. I put them down in front of us. Kai takes one of them with a smile.
"Thanks, I'm glad we have food."
I laugh pretty loudly.
"Yeah, a hungry ally is a dead one and I'd rather not have you die"
I glance over and I stop. Normally sunless runs off to go do whatever after he gets food but not today.
"Good gods you eat like a animal"
He looks up slowly takes the bowl and just disappears. The sight had been almost enough to get me to laugh. Someone so doll looking eating like a possum is a little too funny. I slowly turn to kai trying not to snicker.
"Huh? Well that was... unique.... I'm totally telling effie about this"
