I slowly look at sunless putting on a fully innocent expression
"Yes?"
He points to the ground
"Did you just steal more volcano?"
I look at the point he's pointing at now then I bolt. A few minutes later I'm back in the shrine sitting on the ground with a scowl.
"Stop stealing parts of the mountain"
I scoff
"I have things to build. The volcano is made of some very strong stuff. Plus its using the conflict that killed my predecessor"
Kai glances over
"Your predecessor?"
Oh i haven't told anyone yet
"Oh yeah i am not the heir to a dead kingdom."
He stares at me
"I am not even shocked anymore."
He goes back to whatever kai does, he does mutter something about Seishan. "Look i have citadels to fix and more to find of the ash and snow kingdoms sunless so I really would like to just have some of the building blocks of this place"
He stares at me
"Speak to the things under the clouds about it"
I sigh leaning back.
"I kinda hope we can go to that big tree. It would make real good building materials. One branch and I'm set"
"So you are just going to ignore me."
With Beast I dig around in the massive body my arms, well more complete upper body, is covered in blood.
"Saint heat seeker it broke"
I nod making another carving knife for the person. My main job is to prepare the bodies to be taken apart and create tools to make them. I lift my arm and the body is lifted as I toss the shards into a bowl with many others. Another body is lifted and put in front of me. I use a dagger to pop open the chest plate, I cut between it and the flesh finally getting it off. Its floated into a pile with many others. I go from armor plate to armor plate. When I get to the face my face scrunchies quite a bit. Their so human looking. All of them probably were human, loyal to the prince, knowing that guy he grew and became a fair and just ruler. He was truly a kind person, thus I will grant him a mercy, freeing him from that corruption.
With Storm I keep on with my little personal mission as sunless gives the figures to kai and slayer.
"Here, take this."
Kai gets confused.
"Me? I thought you would try to strengthen yourself."
I sigh
"You two are likely the weaker members of this cohort so powering you up is the priority."
I go back to making a super powerful bone sword. I lack a strong enough wood. I will get some of that tree for myself!
"Great more ash"
I snicker to myself. Maybe I should take some ash too. I will get my... well I didn't pay but I will get my money's worth. I toss over some wet wipes to kai
"■■■■ did you have these this whole time"
I shurg
"Yeah. Of course I did."
Sunless quips
"Well we should probably test out how much stronger you are kai, before you go getting any heat seeker like ideas."
Did he just use my name as a way of saying thief like?
Sunless drops a figure into my lap
"Hm?"
He nods at slayer
"Well the boon she'll get is less then the one you'll get. Obviously"
I shrug getting up. I notice kai eyeing my bag
"Feel free to go through it. I've tried to organize it"
Sunless laughs
"Oh like that would help"
I shove the fool, he actually seems a little surprised at it. I then walk over putting the figure down on the alter. It turns into ash. It doesn't flow into me, no it becomes a gem.
"Heh?"
Sunless and kai look over my shoulder. I pick the gem up
"Hmm oh I recognize it! This was one of the gems on the original snow crown"
I quickly make a replica of the snow crown and I slot it in. It fuses into the crown and I put it on my head. I clench my hand
"Oh, now this is fun!"
I take it off, feeling the new strength leave as i do, putting the crown on kai. He jumps back as little shaken
"hey what the, ■■■■, what did you do?"
Sunless grabs the crown looking it over. He then grins
"Would you look at that. It seems we can swap who the boon goes to"
With Sun. Im going insane. I swear to the gods I am going to kill something. And worse it won't even help. I take a long and deep breath
"Okay. How much longer?"
She tilts her head
"About 2 weeks."
I drag my hand across my face. This will be hell won't it? Bloodwave sighs
"You really need to stop antagonizing saint heat seeker. They seem on the edge of just killing you"
I throw my hands up
"I am. And i can't even get food sent to me, storm has the bag"
They really need to come out of whatever hell they went head first into like a idiot.
With Storm I lift my gun and I start shooting the wolves. I grumble loudly as they turn to snow
"Idiots"
I turn the snow they turned into against themselves as i rip the points of snow apart. It takes effort but I succeed slowly. The wolves turn back now all injured massively. They bite at the bugs, not that i feel bad for the ash wasps. When one is broken i make the shards stab into the wolf that broke it. The mountain shakes almost making me miss. From kai or sunless I'm not sure. I keep shooting calmly. This isn't as hard as it should be. The wolves finally get past attacking me and slayer. The first is spiked, the second is gotten by slayer, poor thing, the third is cut open. More and more attack when I'm suddenly in the temple so is slayer and then kai is as well
"Brace yourselves!"
I cover the temple in a thick layer of ice. I turn into ice clinging to the floor. I am quickly thrown out of that state and I am thrown around. Maybe screaming, probably screaming but its too loud for me to tell. I hit a wall bouncing off of it and I quickly hit another. I finally fall to the floor with probably a splat like one of those stick hand toys.
I lay on the ground as the two talk. Pain, its dull and not that bad but I am feeling very dramatic. I groan loudly sunless squats next to me and pokes me in the side
"Come on get up"
I groan again. It hurts enough to make me not want to. I can im sure of it but i really do not like pain.
"Oh come on."
I shrug
"Sunless your the idiot who got us into this"
He stays silent for a bit
"Call me sun."
I slowly turn my head to him. He's got a real odd look in his eyes
"No. Weirdo"
I finally sit up. I poke my arm, ow. Its covered in bruises. He then stands up
"How about this. What's a opossum?"
I dig into my bag pulling out a photo, I don't remember why I still have it. I hand it to him
"One of these"
He stares at it then at me.
"A little rude"
He then just takes it and walks away.
"Hey that isn't yours!"
I stand next to slayer. I finally hand slayer the new and improved god grave sword. The two guys talk about whatever is going to be coming for us next.
"Hey don't lose it, that thing took ages to make."
Maybe I should make some arrows next. My head snaps to kai. Why did his heat signature change?
"What does it look like though"
Slayer steps forward as kai speaks. Oh shit. As everything goes black i feel a chain wrap itself around my neck.
With death as I'm making the map of the snow and ash kingdoms. The world tilts for a second. I glance up at singer who's hair has almost puffed up. Wasn't it pure blonde at the start, when it get black ends?
"Now isnt that something"
She's speaking? I stand up quickly
"No need, this does not concern you. Although I will not be able to stay summoned."
She then turns back into a shard of ice that falls to the floor. What the hell?
