I reach into the fake mimic and I pull out some spices. I lean over handing it to seishan. She hums softly as she add some to the toy handing it back to me. I put it back in the fake mimic. I check the fire, I add some wood on it, then it blow a little wind on it. She checks the flavor, thinking for a second. "Salt" I reach into the fake mimic and I hand her some salt. She adds some mixes the pot and she checks the soup again. She smiles and hands me back the salt. I put it away
"thats quite the useful memory you've got"
I glance back at the fake mimic, who had taken the form of its original chest.
"Oh yeah. I got the lord of shadows to make it for me. Little tip, if you have a particularly interesting or odd memory, it's easy to bribe him with it. Let him look at it for a while and boom, free stuff"
she narrows her eyes at me
"We are not from the same fallen clan. Nor any other fallen group"
she laughs
"now I didn't say that"
I frown
"yes because you totally weren't thinking that at all. Absolutely not"
she waves her hand a smile on her face
"either way, the soup is done"
I pull out some bowls along with some spoons.
Soon I eat the soup. No clue what kind of soup it is but its pretty good. I dip some bread in it.
"You know, for someone who can't cook, you keep a lot of cooking stuff"
I glance up
"hmm? Oh yeah, i might not be able cook but I'm not going to be useless when it comes to cooking."
I take a bite of the soup bread.
"Not just that but yout a sovereign, yet here you are."
I shrug
"i don't have a domain as of yet. I don't have anything to... assign the tasks I don't want to do."
She leans forward she smile turning slightly sharp
"did they actually go into the 3rd nightmare? Or?"
I nod
"they all actually did. Dont think I pushed them to do it, I wasn't even informed properly. Just went to one of my citadels and that's when I found out they all left. I dont even know what seed they challenged"
she snickers
"you really so give your followers a lot of freedom. So how many do you think will come back?"
I stay silent for a while
"about 117 went in, if it was a normal group about 10 or so. But if I was to go on the amount of midnight actors guild survived the second nightmare, then i would say about 80."
She blinks blinks her eyes widening
"that is... quite the jump."
I nod
"the main problem with nightmares is the separation. But they have seer of the infinite. Who from what i can tell has a ability like cassies. Being able to mark others, although for seer it appears to allow her to look into their future, as well as share part of her dormant ability with them."
Seishan blinks
"thats a lot of information. You are quite forthcoming."
She then smiles
"oh yes. I suppose I forgot to ask back then, but why exactly did you visit ravenheart back when the whole... chess situation happen?"
I hum
"I thought it might have had a connection to the snow and ash kings. Turns out the chess game did. I'm not really annoyed about the whole thing having been turned into a game but still. A bit insensitive."
Soon after we finish eating i clean the dishes and I put them away in the fake mimic. I sit down on the rock again looking up into the stars. Seishan sits down next to me.
"Looking at the stars i see."
I nod staying silent for some time.
"I never got to really see the stars until I went to the Chained Isles."
I laugh
"I remember watching the stars all night a few times."
The wind is slow and soft.
"Yes. I must agree, the first time seeing the stars is something you never forget."
We stay silent for a while.
"Your hand"
i glance down. I had been clenching and unclenching my hand
"its just... suddenly not being made of flesh was quite overwhelming."
She chuckles
"is that why your being so contemplative lately?"
I look back up
"yeah. I guess it is. It's just such a change"
"my skin turning gray was quite the change. I know its a lot different to what happened to you but still I can understand it"
I know my situation isn't unique, but still. Its a lot to get used to.
