"We need to leave now!" Ren said as he grabbed Leona. Ren fled with Leona on his shoulder and was gone into the forest in a flash of red light.
"That won't do you any good." Tigre said as he unsheathed his sword.
"Fierce Tiger Hunter!!!!"
Suddenly, all of the trees in the forest were cut and flew into the air. This created a clearing which allowed Tigre to easily see where Ren and Leona had run off to.
In the blink of an eye, Tigre was right behind Ren and swung his sword down on him. Ren just barely managed to dodge it in time.
"He closed the distance faster than I'd anticipated, and I still can't read his aura." Ren thought. "This guy is dangerous we have to find a way to get away from him." Ren said.
"No! You always do this! We can fight him! Just let me go!" Leona shouted as she freed herself from Ren's grip.
"No! He's too strong!" Ren warned but it was too late and Leona had already rushed in.
Leona rushed in to attack Tigre, but as she did Tigre removed his tiger pelt jacket from his shoulder and revealed that a pink haired woman was latched onto his back. The woman then put her hands to her mouth and breathed a plume of fire towards Leona, who just barely avoided being scorched by the flames.
"Aww, boo. I missed her." Mirielle pouted.
"It's fine, it won't matter either way." Tigre said indifferently.
Miri hopped off Tigre's back and landed in front of Leona.
"It wouldn't take much effort from me to take on the two of you one against two. That being said, hurting a woman would put a bad taste in my mouth. So I brought my subordinate here to deal with you. Tigre said.
Leona spent a short time fighting Minerva before she defeated her. At the same time, Ren faced Tigre. After she dealt with Minerva, Leona turned her attention back to Tigre.
"You shouldn't have underestimated me." Leona spat at him.
"Rumbling Wave!!!!!!!!!!!"
Leona struck the ground with both of her fists and a massive shockwave rushed through the ground towards Tigre.
"Tch, this is mere child's play." Tigre said dismissively. He then thrust his own hand into the ground to retaliate.
"Tigers Maw!!!!!"
Tigre's attack sent a a shockwave through the ground that met with Leona's. The impact produced a powerful explosion that shattered the ground and Leona was sent flying. When Tigre removed his hand from the ground, he had the most minute cut on his finger.
"After all that, this was all you were able to manage." Tigre said as he viewed his slight wound. "Although I suppose it is better than what he did." He said as he pointed to the beaten body of Ren that was lying on the ground.
Leona noticed that Ren had been badly beaten and was lying on the ground unconscious. It hadn't occurred to her that Ren would have been beaten.
"Just surrender. It's pointless to continue this farce any longer. It obvious that you stand no chance."
Tigre landed a few punches that easily put Leona on the ground. She started to slowly stand back up and speak to Tigre.
"My special ability allows me to create vibrations that can spread into shockwaves that destroy anything in their path." She said through labored breaths.
"What is she doing? It's a fairly common practice to explain your ability in order to get a small power boost, but such a power boost is negligible it wouldn't be enough to make a difference in this situation. Especially considering that her ability is easy to figure out even without her telling me. What is she angling for?"
"Shattering Ring!!!!"
She had sent vibrations throughout the area and was about to unleash a massive powerful shockwave. However, she stopped her attack at the last second. This allowed Tigre to slash her and incapacitate her.
"Why would she stop her attack like that?" Tigre wondered. "Her attack still wouldn't have been enough to make a difference, but I admit that she did take me by surprise. Going through the trouble to launch that surprise attack and then stopping. It doesn't make any sense."
Just then, Tigre noticed that there were some local villagers that were traveling through the area.
"I see, I was so focused on our fight that I didn't realize that there was a village nearby. She held back her attack to avoid harming any of the villagers" Tigre realized.
Tigre sheathed his sword and grabbed his subordinate before preparing to leave.
"I'll let you two go just this once. You saved people that I would have let harm come to. For that I'll declare our engagement my loss for the time being." Tigre said as he left.
Leona had lost consciousness after Tigre's attack, but Ren had just regained his own in time to hear Tigre's words.
"He's leaving? We got away this time, but next time we meet there's no way we'll be so lucky." Ren thought. "Maybe next time I should use, That. No I shouldn't use that in a place like this. Then again maybe I'm just being selfish." He took a deep breath and exhaled. "Maybe this is all my fault."
He then took Leona and got as far away as possible. He didn't want to take any chances that Tigre would catch up to the two of them again.
