Murphy Lawden was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling, clearly bored. There were no cases, no work, nothing happening.
Dr. Alexander walked in.
"Murphy, what's wrong? Why do you look so annoyed?" he asked.
"There's no case. Nothing's happening," Murphy replied.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Emma Hastings stepped inside confidently.
"Murphy! How are you?" she said.
Dr. Alexander looked surprised. "Do you know her?"
Murphy looked at her and said playfully, "No."
"Seriously?" Emma asked, raising her eyebrows.
"No, I don't know you," Murphy replied calmly.
"Why are you so angry?" Emma pressed.
Dr. Alexander chuckled. "Is she your girlfriend?"
"Alex, be quiet," Murphy said with a small smile.
Turning to Emma, he asked, "Big brother, can't you have fun? Anyway, how's father?"
"Father is dead," Emma said, frowning, "but his death wasn't ordinary."
Murphy's eyes widened. "Father had many enemies…"
Dr. Alexander watched carefully. "Now I understand… there's more to this than I thought."
Murphy got up slowly, his eyes cautious and serious. The room fell silent.
Emma pulled a small envelope from her bag. "This is Father's last letter. It might help you understand a lot."
Murphy took it carefully, scanning the contents. His eyes widened further. The letter listed Father's enemies and a hidden, mysterious location.
"Alex, Emma, this is serious. There's a lot happening that no one knows yet," Murphy said.
Dr. Alexander shook his head. "Then we need to start immediately. Murphy, the way you see things… it's time to put it to use."
Murphy looked at Emma. "From today, you'll stay with me. I'll show you how to uncover the truth."
Emma smiled. "Alright, Murphy. But I still don't fully know you."
Murphy laughed playfully. "No, I still don't know you. But from today, our paths are one."
The room filled with a new energy—curiosity, suspense, and determination. The three of them—Murphy, Dr. Alexander, and Emma—stepped into the mystery together, ready to follow the clues and uncover the truth behind the strange deaths in London.
