Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 – A Challenge to General Zod

Boom!

The Kree flagship exploded violently, blooming into a massive orange-red firework across the starry sky.

Yun Chen's "Space Concussion" strike had shattered the battleship completely. Fragments of metal and burning wreckage scattered outward like a rain of flaming debris, spreading across the surrounding void.

"Trying to run now?"

As the flagship was annihilated, even the dullest soldier in the Kree fleet realized the truth.

This opponent was impossible to defeat.

The remaining warships instantly abandoned any thought of fighting. Engines roared to life as the ships desperately tried to escape the battlefield.

But no matter how fast a battleship could accelerate, it still could not outrun light.

Far in the distance, a faint ice-blue glow appeared.

For a brief moment, it flickered quietly.

Then the glow expanded.

The tiny light burst outward, transforming into a thick beam of freezing energy that tore through space. A thunderous explosion followed as the beam struck a fleeing warship directly.

Boom!

The vessel detonated instantly.

Fire continued to burn as fragments of the shattered ship scattered across the star field.

The icy beam streaked forward again, carving a glowing path through the darkness. At the end of that cold blue trajectory were the remaining warships desperately attempting to escape.

But their efforts were meaningless.

Boom!

Another explosion erupted.

Boom!

And another.

One by one, the fleeing ships were struck down.

Finally, with the last explosion blossoming in the void, the entire Kree fleet vanished beneath the silent starry sky.

The battlefield fell quiet.

In the boundless darkness of space, only one figure remained standing.

Yun Chen floated calmly among the drifting wreckage.

"…Huh."

"I actually learned flight without anyone teaching me."

He spoke softly to himself.

The violent collision earlier had completely destroyed the Kryptonian combat suit he had been wearing. After all, the way he had smashed through multiple warships was far beyond what the suit had been designed to endure.

His body could withstand that kind of force.

The armor could not.

Yun Chen exhaled slowly.

Fortunately, his Flight ability had awakened at exactly the right moment. If the suit had failed before that, drifting helplessly in space would have been a rather embarrassing outcome.

"Flying actually feels pretty great."

He stretched his arms outward.

In the vacuum of space, Yun Chen moved effortlessly, gliding through the void like a fish swimming through water.

Ever since childhood, people had dreamed of flying freely through the sky.

Now Yun Chen could do exactly that.

For a while, he drifted through space purely for the joy of movement. Cosmic radiation flowed around him, washing over his body and nourishing the trillions of cells inside him.

Each moment made his vitality grow stronger.

Not long afterward, the reconnaissance vessel Aquarius slowly approached.

When Yun Chen had left the ship alone earlier, many crew members had felt uneasy. Facing an entire fleet by himself sounded almost absurd.

Even Adjutant Lilith, who usually remained calm and rational, had been quietly worried.

But now—

"The Kree fleet… was completely wiped out."

"He destroyed the entire fleet alone?"

The Kryptonian crew stared in disbelief.

They struggled to process what had just happened.

Thinking back to the moment Yun Chen had departed earlier—his calm back disappearing into space—they finally understood the confidence behind that gesture.

"Yeah," Medic Lucine whispered quietly.

"A Kree fleet? Even General Zod? It seems we really underestimated how powerful the captain's fist is."

Soon after, Yun Chen returned to the Aquarius under the admiring gaze of the crew.

He landed casually and clapped his hands as if he had just finished a minor chore.

"What are you all standing around for?" he asked.

"Didn't the World Engine send a message asking for my response? Let's get moving."

Before the destruction of the Kree fleet, the Aquarius had already established quantum communication with the World Engine.

The name alone made many of the crew nervous.

After all, the owner of that vessel was someone whose reputation once shook the entire galaxy.

General Zod.

Inside the cockpit, a figure had been waiting for some time.

The man had short black hair and a stern, resolute face. A dark Kryptonian battle suit covered his powerful frame, and a black cloak hung behind his shoulders.

His posture radiated ruthless authority.

Anyone could recognize him instantly.

General Zod.

Of course, the man standing in the cockpit wasn't physically present.

It was merely a holographic projection transmitted through the communication channel.

"You made me wait quite a while," Zod said coldly.

"You're one of the few people in this universe capable of making me wait that long."

"Looks like I'm pretty lucky," Yun Chen replied casually.

He raised his eyebrows slightly while studying the figure in front of him with obvious curiosity.

To be honest, this was the first time he had seen someone who looked exactly like a famous figure from a movie.

Naturally, Yun Chen couldn't help feeling a bit interested.

"But your appearance surprised me," Zod continued.

"For fifteen years, we have searched the galaxy for surviving Kryptonians. Unfortunately, none were ever found."

His voice paused briefly.

Then his gaze settled firmly on Yun Chen.

"Yet today, I received a quantum transmission from your ship—the Aquarius."

Zod's expression remained calm and emotionless.

"But the fact that you are merely a surviving compatriot without any proper identification… makes me feel unusually charitable toward you."

His tone turned commanding.

"Now I order you to immediately pilot your ship to the Tianling Star Region."

"I will be waiting for you there."

After hearing those words, Yun Chen raised an eyebrow.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"No wonder everyone seems so afraid of you," he said calmly.

"You really are a difficult person to deal with."

Then his expression turned slightly playful.

"But here's something interesting."

"What makes you so sure I'll follow your orders?"

At that moment, a cold smile appeared on General Zod's otherwise rigid face.

The expression carried a trace of ridicule.

"Boy," Zod said dismissively.

"You made me wait quite a while earlier. Did you really think that time was wasted?"

"That was more than enough for me to completely locate your reconnaissance vessel."

His eyes sharpened slightly.

"Think about it carefully."

"Would you prefer to come to me willingly…"

"Or wait until I personally arrive at your doorstep?"

The atmosphere inside the cockpit instantly became tense.

Zod's overwhelming dominance left the surrounding Kryptonian crew uneasy.

But Yun Chen suddenly laughed.

His eyes, normally calm and clear, now glimmered with a faint killing intent.

"I forgot to mention something," he said lightly.

"While I kept you waiting earlier…"

"I wiped out an entire Kree fleet."

He leaned forward slightly as he spoke.

"So now I'm actually looking forward to meeting you in the Tianling Star Region."

His smile widened.

"Let's see just how tough you really are."

"Alright."

"Come chase me."
