Olivia realizes she's in love with him on a Tuesday morning while watching him eat scrambled eggs.
It's not a dramatic moment. There are no violins. No dramatic realization that crashes into her like thunder. It's just Adrian sitting at the counter eating her terrible cooking and she suddenly knows with complete certainty that she's completely ruined.
She loves him.
Not the fever kind of love where you say things you don't mean. Not the contract kind where you're attracted to someone but keeping distance. Real love. The kind that settles into your bones and becomes part of how you breathe. The kind that doesn't ask permission and doesn't follow rules.
She watches him eat. She watches how his jaw moves when he chews. She watches how he takes a sip of coffee between bites. She watches how his eyes close for just a second like he's savoring the moment even though the eggs are still pretty bad.
And she thinks about forever.
