Chapter 8 - in valhalla

Lloyd left the village after restoring order and ridding it of Vasco and his gang.

A week later, Lloyd arrived in the northern city of Valhalla, still certain he would find his mother and brother. "Ah, it's a bit colder up here," Lloyd said, rubbing his shoulders against the chill.

Lloyd began exploring the large city and its historical landmarks..

There were large houses, shops, stores, and tall buildings constructed in a modern style, along with well-organized roads. People were everywhere, on every corner, and the city was brightly lit. A cool breeze and snow gently fell over the city, creating a breathtaking view that captivated the eye.

Lloyd entered a bar. The number of people playing dominoes and poker was small, scattered across several tables in groups. A dim light filtered through the corners of the place. Lloyd went inside and sat on one of the bar's long wooden benches. A girl with curly black hair and dark skin was wiping glasses. "I'd like a glass of water, please," Lloyd asked her impatiently. Then a man in front of him sighed and gasped. "Another bottle over here." Lloyd glanced at him briefly, then returned to his own glass. "Damn, you drink too much." Then the man glanced at him out of the corner of his eye and smiled: "Ah... that's life. It takes everything from you without any compensation in the end..." He gasped again, and Lloyd chuckled softly: "Wow, damn it, is she a girlfriend?" The man, peering into his bottle, replied: "We leave these trivial matters to you youngsters... I've had enough of this life, and my destiny is the grave." Lloyd frowned: "Oh, you're right about that." As soon as the man finished speaking, he placed his hand on the table: "Your money's here, madam." Then he lowered his gaze to Lloyd and put a hand on his shoulder: "Good luck on your way, young man." And he left the bar.

Do you know this man?

Then Lloyd sighed: No, I don't know who he is, I just chatted with him.

Then the bar owner replied in surprise: Oh, I thought you two knew each other. Then Lloyd asked her curiously: And... do you know this man? Then she replied in a slightly lower voice, "Ah, that's Albert Mackay. I don't know much about his mysterious personality... but the most well-known information about him is that he was an agent for the Crimson organization, and he may have retired, given that he spends most of his time here in the bar... Now, tell us about yourself. What's your name?" Lloyd replied with a smile and a hint of shyness, "Ah, I'm sorry, I should have started with that. My name is Lloyd Eriker, and... you could say I'm new to this town." Then she shook his hand. "Welcome, Mr. Lloyd, to Valhalla. My name is Maya Santee, and you can call me May, and... it's a pleasure to meet you." Lloyd stood up, and she still held his hand. "Okay, how much is a glass, Ms. May?" Then she said to him with a sigh, "No, no, we don't charge for a glass of water. It's free." "Ah, thank you very much," Lloyd replied with thanks, then turned to leave. Before he left, Maya called after him, "Remember... the place is open to you anytime." Then he laughed softly and left through the main door.

"That guy named Albert Mackay might be the same man I'm looking for. And what's the story with this Crismon organization? I might have to go back to the bar to find out more later." Lloyd was talking to himself as he walked down the city arcade.

Curiosity was killing Lloyd, while the answer was to return to the same place.
