Chapter 13 Establishing His Own Lineage
Abandoning the idea of transforming his malevolent energy into supernatural powers, Feng Zichen suppressed it deep within the Ziwei Palace.
Then, he sent a message to Suirenshi, assuring him not to worry, before deciding to go into seclusion for a while to properly integrate his knowledge.
Having already reached the Yangshen Realm, he still didn't have a proper cultivation technique; this was truly unacceptable. He was, after all, the founder of his own lineage; without a cultivation technique, how could he spread his teachings and strengthen his lineage?
The Hongmeng Dao Seal emitted a faint light, helping Feng Zichen enter a state of enlightenment and deduce a cultivation technique suitable for him.
In the starry sky, boundless star essence descended, filling their corresponding acupoints.
Before long, the acupoints reached their limit, and the star essence overflowed from them, surging into Feng Zichen's body.
At this moment, Feng Zichen's trouble began. Although the star essence was powerful, its attributes were mixed, and the power contained in each star was different. Normally, these stellar essences reside within the acupoints, coexisting peacefully without interfering with each other.
Now, however, all of Feng Zichen's acupoints are illuminated, automatically forming a grand array corresponding to the celestial bodies. In an instant, the speed at which the acupoints draw down starlight increases dramatically. Before long, all the acupoints are filled with stellar essence, causing it to overflow and form various elemental forces within his body.
Sensing this unusual phenomenon, Feng Zichen remains calm, communicating with the Ziwei Star through his Yang Spirit to draw upon its light.
As the master of all stars, the Ziwei Star can suppress and coordinate the other stars. Sure enough, as the Ziwei Star light flows through, the various stellar forces within Feng Zichen immediately become docile, flowing slowly within him.
Noticing this, Feng Zichen has a sudden flash of inspiration; the rudimentary form of a cultivation technique appears in his mind. Then, the Hongmeng Dao Seal shines brightly, aiding him in deduce the technique.
In the blink of an eye, twenty years have passed.
On this day, a brilliant light suddenly erupted from Feng Zichen's body, every acupoint glowing, with the faint shadows of gods and demons emerging within.
After twenty years of enlightenment, Feng Zichen had finally created his own cultivation technique—the Starry Sky Dao Scripture—and perfected his cultivation system, determining the path after the Yang God realm.
He ignited all the acupoints in his body, allowing them to generate their own spirits, corresponding to the celestial gods. With the help of the gods, his Yang God transformed into a Dao form, passed the tribulation of lightning, and ascended to immortality.
From then on, Feng Zichen finally clarified his cultivation system, breaking down the three major realms of Acquired, Innate, and Earthly Immortal before Celestial Immortal into nine smaller realms for Acquired beings to cultivate.
These are: the three realms of the Divine Sea (Life Spring, Meridian Condensation, Acupoint Shaping); the three realms of the Divine Embryo (Yin God, Spiritual Light, True Fire); and the three realms of the Divine Form (Yang God, Dao Form, Tribulation of Lightning).
The cultivation of the Divine Sea involves strengthening the Life Spring, condensing the Divine Meridians, and shaping the Divine Apertures; the cultivation of the Divine Embryo involves nurturing the Yin Spirit, generating the Spiritual Light, and igniting the True Fire; the cultivation of the Divine Form involves becoming the Yang Spirit, transforming into the Dao Form, and undergoing the Tribulation of Thunder. After this comes the Celestial Immortal Realm
. Unlike the Golden Core system of later generations, the cultivation system created by Feng Zichen is a method of reversing the innate from the acquired. From the concept of opening the Divine Sea, it can be seen that Feng Zichen intended from the beginning to transform into an innate being.
Using heaven and earth as a womb to nurture himself, isn't this treating himself as an innate being? Later, he further awakened his innate blood, re-condensing his meridians and shaping his apertures. He received the essence of the stars, activated his own innate spirit, and used this as the foundation to form the Divine Embryo.
This Divine Embryo contains the innate spirit, nourished by the essence of the stars, and the resulting deity is an innate god. Feng Zichen's Yang Spirit is such a deity.
The establishment of this cultivation system immediately attracted the attention of the Heavenly Dao. Silently, dark clouds gathered above Feng Zichen's head, a sign of divine punishment.
Beneath the clouds, Feng Zichen could clearly sense the wrath of the Heavenly Dao. The essence of cultivation for beings born after birth is to steal the power of heaven and earth to strengthen themselves; such cultivation, which comes at the cost of damaging heaven and earth, is inherently forbidden by the Heavenly Dao. Moreover, the cultivation system pioneered by Feng Zichen is a method for transforming acquired beings into innate beings. This act of defying the innate can be described as defying the heavens, naturally incurring the wrath of the Heavenly Dao and unleashing divine punishment.
Even though Feng Zichen possessed merit to protect him and weaken the divine punishment, its power still reached the Golden Immortal level, demonstrating the Heavenly Dao's fury.
A muffled thunderclap resounded, and streaks of black lightning flashed within the dark clouds, carrying an aura of destruction. This was the Thunder of Destruction, capable of annihilating everything in the world. The Heavenly Dao's use of this thunder signified its determination to kill Feng Zichen.
Sensing the deadly danger, Feng Zichen dared not be negligent and immediately activated his strongest technique—the Innate Five Elements Divine Light.
A five-colored divine light surged from Feng Zichen's body, enveloping him within a hundred feet, awaiting the fall of the Thunder of Destruction.
The Innate Five Elements Divine Light possessed the power of a Taiyi Golden Immortal, while the divine punishment, weakened by merit, was reduced to only the power of a Golden Immortal, completely no match for the Innate Five Elements Divine Light.
Even so, Feng Zichen dared not take the initiative and could only defend passively.
He feared that if he unleashed a single Five Elements Divine Light, he would directly annihilate the Heavenly Punishment. While that might feel satisfying, it could also incur the wrath of Heaven, unleashing an even more terrifying Heavenly Punishment, which would be disastrous.
Boom!
One after another, bolts of pitch-black lightning, carrying the force to destroy all things, slammed into the Five Elements Divine Light. The
Five Elements Divine Light flashed, and before these destructive lightning bolts could even erupt, they were returned to their origin and absorbed into the Five Elements Realm.
Even through the Five Elements Divine Light, Feng Zichen could feel the terrifying power contained within the destructive lightning. He was overjoyed that he had mastered the Innate Five Elements Divine Light; otherwise, even if he survived this Heavenly Punishment, he would have been bedridden for hundreds of years.
The pitch-black destructive lightning poured down like a torrential rain, and in an instant, one hundred and seven bolts had fallen. Afterward, the Heavenly Punishment did not immediately unleash the one hundred and eighth bolt, but instead slowly contracted.
Finally, as the dark clouds in the sky contracted into a ball, a bolt of dark golden lightning struck down, causing the five-colored divine light to tremble and nearly shatter on the spot. Fortunately, the heavenly punishment exhausted its power after striking down with this lightning bolt, dissipating in the air.
The dark clouds receded, and auspicious clouds appeared in the sky, wisps of auspicious energy swirling around them, with golden flowers falling from the sky. Boundless profound merit gathered in the sky and fell into Feng Zichen's body.
The heavenly punishment had passed, and the Heavenly Dao had bestowed a reward, demonstrating its impartiality in rewarding and punishing.
Ignoring the extra merit within his body, Feng Zichen focused his mind on the Five Elements Realm, checking the situation of the destructive lightning. After all, he received merit every now and then, and was already used to it.
Lightning is the pivot of Yin and Yang, the fundamental force that commands all things. Therefore, without lightning, there is no way to govern the Three Realms.
The Heavenly Dao uses the power of lightning to reveal the principles of Yin and Yang's mutual generation and restraint; it is His means of creating and destroying all things.
Every top expert in the primordial world possessed a formidable skill in thunder magic. For example, Pangu used the Heavenly Thunder to create the world, the Dao Ancestor's Purple Heaven Thunder, and the Three Pure Ones' Three Pure Ones Thunder Technique.
