Originally, seeing the monster's terrifying appearance and exaggerated size, Ross had thought this time he was about to get a much bigger surprise.
He had not expected that such a monster would be put down so easily by a drug cartel.
After saying that, Ross was about to leave the two of them behind, take his men up the mountain to clean the place out, and head back.
After all, he had already filed official reports for this operation under the pretense of clearing out a terrorist group, and now...
Ross felt irritated.
"General Ross, perhaps I think we should be a little more patient."
"If I were you, I'd have your men get ready. What they're about to face is the real terror."
Before Ross could walk off, Killian's unhurried voice sounded behind him.
Because no matter which model of Tyrant it was, its true terror was never in its restricted version. It was only after "death," once its limits were broken, that it truly began to exert its power.
"ROAR!!!!"
"BOOM!!"
As if to prove Killian right, an enormous roar suddenly erupted from the mountaintop.
The sound was so overwhelming that even the people below could feel the shockwave slamming into them head-on.
At that moment, many of the soldiers present had shock on their faces after hearing that roar.
They simply could not imagine what kind of creature could produce such a deafening sound.
Not even a dragon from legend should be able to do that.
"You had a backup plan?"
Unlike the soldiers' shock and unease, Ross halted his step, turned back, and looked at Killian with curiosity and excitement.
"Allow me to introduce it. Tyrant T-000, second form, Liberation Form. Personally, though, I prefer to call it Destruction Form."
"When it is carrying out an extermination mission, if its normal controlled form fails to eliminate the enemy and is itself brought down, then the second form activates automatically. In this state, all of its combat parameters increase by several times, even dozens of times, and its destructive power far surpasses before."
"If the first form is still a weapon, then in Liberation Form, it becomes a true humanoid nuclear bomb."
"It destroys every living thing it can see, and it is extremely hard to kill."
After hearing Ross's question, Killian answered with a faint smile.
Even though he stayed at the company most of the time, he had been constantly reviewing progress reports from the T-Virus project, and the T-series Tyrants were a key part of his future cooperation with the military, so naturally he paid closer attention to them.
Because of that, he had already discussed future development directions and certain research ideas for the Tyrants with Samuel, allowing the teams to skip many exploratory detours and move straight toward the shortcut.
The result of that was the biological Tyrant now before them, already comparable to Umbrella's T-002 Tyrant.
Back in Umbrella, even Wesker had repeatedly marveled at the T-002 Tyrant, calling it a one-of-a-kind combat weapon.
That alone said enough about its terrifying intimidation factor.
And now, a more perfected version of that weapon had appeared in this world through Killian's hands.
"It's really that strong?"
After hearing Killian out, Ross could no longer stay still. He widened his eyes, leaned closer, and asked excitedly.
If it really had the power Killian described, then once they formed a Tyrant army, what could possibly stop them from unifying the world?
"How about we test its combat strength in a moment?"
Killian only showed a meaningful smile and made the suggestion.
"How do we test it?"
While the two were talking, no one noticed that the military's live monitoring feed had already gone dark.
"When the time comes, pull your troops out and gather them all together. It'll run to them on its own."
"Have your men open fire at full strength. No need to hold back. I'll take responsibility for all losses."
Killian continued.
"Heh, you want live combat data, don't you?"
"But fine. If it's really as good as you say, I can sign a contract with you on behalf of the military right now."
Ross instantly understood what Killian was aiming for, but he did not care and agreed on the spot.
And with the two reaching an immediate understanding, the military forces that had been surrounding the foot of the mountain began moving toward an open area.
Before long,
five tanks, more than a dozen armed armored vehicles, and over a thousand soldiers were assembled behind a fully established battle line, their guns aimed toward the mountain path.
No one knew exactly what they were about to face, but from the horrifying roars that kept echoing from the summit, they all understood that it was something extremely terrifying.
Yet not one of them backed down.
Every one of them had come from the battlefield.
Their orders were absolute, unless the situation had already deteriorated to the point where surrender would bring no punishment.
But every one of them believed that moment would never come.
"BOOM!!!"
At that moment, a pillar of fire suddenly erupted from the mountaintop, followed by an unending series of explosions.
"Move!!"
Then, with Ross's command issued from the command vehicle, one of the helicopters equipped with a heavy machine gun immediately lifted off from the battle line and flew straight toward the summit.
"Command, target located. Permission to fire? Repeat, permission to fire?"
Not long after taking off, the pilot spotted the giant monster inside the raging flames and immediately grabbed the radio.
"Open fire!!"
"Draw the target down the mountain."
The moment Ross's order came through, the helicopter's heavy machine gun unleashed a storm of bullets at the creature.
"ROAR!!!"
Feeling the sudden barrage hammering into its body, the Tyrant, which had lost its target, instantly became enraged again and roared at the "big bird" in the sky.
Then it began sprinting with explosive force, using the trees for leverage and launching itself upward toward the helicopter.
Seeing that, the pilot, who had thought the distance was perfectly safe, nearly lost his soul and yanked hard on the controls, climbing up and backward as fast as possible.
For a single terrifying moment, the pilot could clearly see the monster's crimson claws slash just barely past the front windshield.
But in the end, because of the distance, the creature still failed to reach it and crashed back down.
