Leo cautiously opened the door of one of the abandoned houses, but he was surprised; the room was tidy and organized, the furniture was in its place, and everything looked perfect as if the owners had left just moments ago. He turned to Fro and said in wonder: "Strange... it seems as though people still dwell here." Fro replied as he hovered beside he: "Perhaps one person remained in this village, and they are the one taking care of all this." Leo shouted loudly: "Is there anyone here?", but no answer came.
Leo moved to the next house and found the same thing; perfect order and strange cleanliness, but no trace of humans. He began moving from house to house, his astonishment growing, then he suddenly stopped as he looked at the horizon: "Finally... the sun is approaching its setting. I will be freed from this heavy body and return to my nature; then I will use my power to see if there is anyone here, and it will be much easier."
At that moment, his stomach made a growling sound from intense hunger. Leo thought to himself mockingly: "From a king in the vampire world to a person who hasn't eaten for days... damn it." He remembered seeing food placed on a table in one of the houses he had passed, so he hurried back and sat down to eat.
But as soon as he sat, he heard Fro's voice screaming in terror: "Who are you?! What are you doing?!" Leo ran toward the sound, only to find Fro bound by his wings. Leo tried to attack, but he was shocked when hands emerged from beneath the ground and gripped his feet firmly. Leo fell to the ground beside Fro, still unaccustomed to the slowness of his human body which he thought would allow him to escape, but he found himself tied and thrown on the ground.
One of the men said, laughing mockingly: "So... a human and his pet?" Leo asked sharply: "Who are you?" The leader replied while stroking Fro's wings: "I am the leader of this village." Leo laughed mockingly and said: "Leader of whom? There is no one but you and these three fools!"
Other residents began to emerge from the shadows; their forms were terrifying, their skin color resembled soil, and their eyes were pitch black, laughing treacherously. One of them asked: "Leader, these are the only ones here, how shall we divide them?"
The leader looked at Fro and said: "You are no ordinary spiritual animal... I feel a great energy within you, unlike your weak human master who will die of hunger if he does not eat." Fro shouted: "Who are you? And what will you do to us?" The leader answered cunningly: "As for you, you will become my own spiritual animal. As for your master... he will be food for us. We were going to use him to attract stronger monsters with the vibrations of his power, but he is of no use to us."
Fro looked at Leo and said with sorrow: "How strange is your fate... you will die in the world you wanted to become the master of." Leo tried to break free with all his strength, but to no avail. The leader approached him and placed his hand on his shoulder, saying: "Do not try; the more you resist, the harder your death will be. Do you have a last request, you with the red eyes?"
Leo replied in a dark tone: "Take your hand off me." The leader laughed and said: "It seems you do not realize your situation yet, but do not worry... I will keep your eyes as a souvenir."
At that very moment, the last ray of sun disappeared. Leo felt a familiar coldness, and his body returned to its nature as a vampire. When the leader tried to strike him, Leo stood up with ease, his hands open, and began removing the ropes from his legs, then he looked at him and said: "And you... do you have a last request? Your time is up."
