Silas came up to the big plaza where a beautiful fire stand made of pure gold and mithril was showcased...
Silas waved his hand and a pure white fire appeared in his palm.... every element user has their own distinctive characteristics in their element.... for Silas, his fire element is white.
He lit the fire stand, and immediately the square erupted with cheers from the people.... this is the eternal fire of the new kingdom.... the more brightly the fire burns, the more prosperous this kingdom will be....
Then the three ancestral spirits came together in front of the fire stand.... and bowed their heads.... a white light left their foreheads and entered the white burning fire.... and a beautiful melody swept through the crowd..... the sky changed.
Beautiful flowers suddenly bloomed throughout the whole territory, golden light descended from the sky, and the whole area became as if divine.
A beautiful crown came out of the white fire and floated in the air. It was a simple circlet made of living crystal, with the eternal flame still moving slowly inside it like water.
It was not made of normal gold. It was made from three very old materials, dark star-iron that looked like it held tiny stars, deep-blue mithril from under the ancestral land, and white world-bone that was older than any kingdom.
These three were held together not by metal, but by condensed spirit , a clear, smoke-like light that bound them and carried the will of the ancestors.
At the front of the crown hovered a small drop of pure white flame, never going out. Around it, seven tiny sparks circled slowly like little stars.
When the crown touched Silas's head, the materials warmed, the spirit light flashed once, and the crown fit him perfectly, as if it had been waiting for him the whole time.
But the combination was so perfect that the crown was looking divine in the eyes of the onlookers...
Not just Silas but everyone gasped looking at that majestic crown...
Before anyone could react, the crown rose out of the flames and landed on Silas's head perfectly...
The sky grew brighter and countless divine and mythical creatures appeared above the sky, all bowing towards Silas...
The square exploded.
"THE ETERNAL FLAME LIVES FOR ETERNITY!"
"LONG LIVE THE ANCIENT KINGDOM!"
On the balcony, the Imperial envoy's legs gave out. He fell to his knees without meaning to, wine spilling down his front, the memory crystal still recording.
Draven, who had just arrived by using the teleportation formation, became dumbfounded the moment he saw the person above the plaza.... it was Silas, his boyfriend.
He murmured, "No..... No way! The Ancient King I heard about my whole... journey is Silas."
His heart started thumping loudly. Now he knew why Silas didn't want him to come with him here to his family. Why the principal told him not to come.... why that stupid goddess said, "only you can do it."
And he remembered how Rhys teased him not to stay here for many days.... and he sighed when he remembered that Rhys said that he'd be surprised if he came here....
On the other side.... seeing the terrifying phenomenon above the sky, everyone also kneeled towards Silas.... Draven did too... although he was surprised, he was also happy for his boyfriend....
He dropped to one knee on the cold stone, his cloak pooling around him, his eyes never leaving the boy on the dais.
Above, phoenixes of white fire circled and sang, silver stags made of starlight bowed their antlers, and great serpents of cloud coiled in reverence. Dragons bowed to their lord in utmost respect. The light from the crown caught in Silas's black hair and turned it to a halo.
And in the middle of ten thousand kneeling people, in the middle of a miracle, Draven felt his throat tighten with pride instead of fear.
His boyfriend had just become a king and the whole world was watching.
Selene, Lucian, Varric, and Nytheira also kneeled now, Cassian and the others did too... everyone was looking at Silas with bright eyes... the phenomenon in the sky had already made them believe in Silas more and more.
Whenever a phenomenon appeared in the sky during a coronation, it meant that kingdom would thrive in the future. And in this case, it would become terrifyingly powerful...
Silas looked at his people, his dark eyes looked over everyone, but he didn't find anything abnormal...
He started speaking, and everyone heard him as if he stood next to them.
"I am Silas Valerius."
"Today, the three families are one again."
"The pact is broken. Not by us, but by the three Imperiums. They forgot the past. The beasts attacked our territory, the demons invaded our land.... and the Luminus Imperium let them do so...."
" It is time to let them see the power of Ancient Families again."
He raised his hand high, and the three ancestral spirits howled towards the sky...
"So from this day forward, I, the Ancient King, am establishing the Ancient Kingdom."
"The north no longer belongs to the three archduchies, it is the territory of this kingdom. Today I promise, I will not ask you to die for me, I will stand in front of you...."
" I won't let a single innocent soul suffer in my kingdom..."
From the crowd, a single voice shouted,
"long live the Ancient King!"
Then a thousand, and then ten thousand..... like this the whole square erupted with the same cheers....
"long live the Ancient King!"
"long live King Silas!"
After his speech, suddenly his eyes fixed on a person who was kneeling on the ground at the back...
He said to himself, while his heart started thumping so loudly that he could hear it clearly, 'Draven!... what are you doing here?'
Draven's eyes also met Silas's when he smiled at him. Silas felt that if he could find a crack in the ground he'd go inside instantly.... he hadn't told his boyfriend about his reality yet and he found out during his coronation..... it was the most embarrassing thing he had felt in years.
He immediately averted his gaze. He could feel the sharp gaze of Draven from the back...
At this moment the sky suddenly dimmed and then a gentle white light appeared over the whole kingdom...
The pillar of fire from the Eternal Brazier pulsed once and then softened. The fierce white-gold light that had crowned him turned warm, like early morning sun through linen curtains...
The sky suddenly spoke. A gentle voice like thunder appeared in each and every human soul.... they immediately knew who it was,
Luminus!
"Congratulations, Ancient King, for establishing the Ancient Kingdom."
"Sigh! I never knew I'd have to see this day... Ancient King, it was not the Imperium's motive to anger your family..."
Before she said anything else Silas sneered at the sky. Although she is a goddess, Silas knows that she can't descend to this planet at all.... so he suddenly got braver and said,
"Goddess Luminus! Don't forget that it was you and Velus who made that pact to save humans and demons and beasts from getting help from our families."
"So it was supposed to be your duty that the pact doesn't break, due to the foolishness of your own people..."
"Don't try to sugarcoat things just because you want to.... the Ancient Families will never bow to someone like you.... and as for that stupid Emperor.... humph! He'll face his consequences very soon."
The whole place froze. Everyone looked at their king in reverence. Even Draven's smile deepened. He knew that only his boyfriend could make that stupid goddess shut up...
After a long silence she said again, "sigh! I sent you someone to ask for your help..... but hearing your answer I can guess you'll not interfere in the Imperium anymore...."
Silas's eyes immediately fixed on Draven. Draven also nodded his head, indicating yes, it was Goddess Luminus who sent him...
Silas frowned then looked towards the sky again..... while Luminus said, "the people will die, many demons have already invaded the human territory..... the Beast Imperium has already started taking sides with the demons.... if everything is going to be like this... then..."
Silas smiled and said, "who said I'm not going to interfere in the matters of the Imperium! Those damn demons and beasts dared to invade my own north... how dare they!"
"I'll take action against them soon..."
Luminus's emotion immediately fluctuated, and the sky turned bright instantly.... people closed their eyes instinctively when Luminus said again, "Ancient King! I'll wait for your help."
She stopped for a moment, then from the sky, beautiful crystal-like white rain fell upon the land of the Ancient Kingdom....
And her voice said,
"Silas Valerius, Ancient King, I cannot walk your path for you. The gods made that law long ago. But I can bear witness."
She paused, and when she spoke again, her voice was as if chuckling.
"And so I congratulate you, on the founding of your kingdom."
"My blessing upon the humans of the north," Luminus said softly, as the light rain kept falling. "May your fields yield in winter. May your children be born strong. May your hearths stay lit when the long night comes. May you remember mercy, even when you must hold a sword."
Silas closed his eyes for a moment, listening...
"Thank you,"
