Chapter 32 - The final collapse

The silence didn't last long.

It shattered.

A wave of dark energy exploded from Aarav's body, tearing through the corridor like a storm unleashed from another world. The walls cracked open, the ground split beneath their feet, and the air itself felt like it was screaming.

Meera struggled to stand, her hands shaking as she pushed herself up. Her eyes locked onto Aarav—

but this wasn't him anymore.

Not completely.

"Aarav…" she whispered, fear and hope colliding inside her voice.

But there was no response.

Only darkness.

The boss stepped forward slowly, its massive presence dominating everything around it. Its glowing eyes fixed on Aarav—not with anger… but with recognition.

"So… it has finally awakened," it said, its voice deep and echoing through the broken space.

Aarav tilted his head slightly.

A faint, cold smile appeared on his face.

"Awakened?" he said, his voice layered—two voices speaking at once. "No… this is just the beginning."

Rayan's device sparked violently behind them. "Okay yeah… this is definitely bad!" he shouted. "His energy levels are off the charts!"

The boss didn't wait.

It moved.

In a single instant—it vanished.

And reappeared right in front of Aarav.

The impact was explosive.

A shockwave burst out as their powers collided, sending debris flying in every direction. The ground beneath them collapsed further, unable to withstand the force of the clash.

For a moment—it looked equal.

Then—

Aarav pushed forward.

With a sudden surge of power, he forced the boss back, dragging its massive form across the ground with pure energy alone.

Meera's eyes widened. "He's… overpowering it?"

But Rayan shook his head immediately. "No… something's wrong."

Aarav didn't stop.

He attacked again—faster, stronger, more brutal. Every movement carried overwhelming force, but there was no control. No precision. Just raw destruction.

The boss blocked, countered, adapted.

"You fight without balance," it said calmly. "Power without control leads only to ruin."

Aarav laughed.

A dark, chilling laugh.

"Control?" he said. "Why would I need control… when I can destroy everything?"

He raised his hand—

and the darkness responded.

A massive wave of energy formed above them, twisting and compressing into something far more dangerous than before.

Meera's heart dropped. "No… he'll destroy everything!"

Rayan gritted his teeth. "If that hits… it's over."

Inside Aarav's mind—

the battle wasn't over yet.

The figure stood behind him, watching. Waiting.

"You see?" it whispered. "This is what you truly are."

Aarav's real self struggled, barely holding on. "No… this isn't me…"

"Then stop it," the figure said coldly.

Outside—

the energy above Aarav grew unstable.

Cracking. Breaking. Losing form.

For a split second—

his eyes flickered.

Meera saw it.

"AARAV!" she screamed with everything she had. "YOU'RE NOT A MONSTER!"

Time… slowed.

Inside the darkness, Aarav froze.

Her voice—clear, powerful—cut through everything.

"I'm… not…" he whispered.

The figure's expression changed. "Don't hesitate," it warned.

But Aarav clenched his fists.

"No," he said. "I decide who I am."

Outside—

the massive energy above him shattered.

Exploding into fragments of light and darkness.

Aarav dropped to one knee, breathing heavily. His body trembled, but his eyes—

they were his again.

For a moment… silence returned.

Meera smiled weakly. "He's back…"

But the boss wasn't done.

It stepped forward once more, its presence heavier than ever.

"Impressive," it said. "You resisted."

Aarav slowly stood up. His body was exhausted—but his gaze was clear now. Focused.

"But this ends now," he said quietly.

The boss attacked again—faster than before.

But this time—

Aarav moved differently.

Controlled.

Precise.

He dodged, countered, and struck back with perfect timing. Every move was calculated. Every attack balanced.

Darkness and control—finally working together.

The final clash came in an instant.

Aarav stepped forward—

and delivered one decisive strike.

Everything stopped.

The boss froze.

Cracks of light spread across its body.

Then—

it shattered. 💥

Silence filled the corridor once again.

The creatures disappeared. The darkness faded. The pressure lifted.

It was over.

Aarav stood there, breathing heavily.

Meera ran toward him immediately. "Aarav!"

He looked at her… and for the first time—he smiled.

"We won," he said softly.

But then—

his expression changed.

He looked down at his hand.

The mark on his wrist…

was still glowing.
