The air had changed.
It wasn't just heavy—it felt alive. Breathing. Watching. Waiting. The cracked corridor trembled under an invisible pressure as if the very world itself feared what was about to happen next.
Aarav stood at the center of it all. Motionless. Silent. But inside him… chaos roared like a storm ready to destroy everything in its path.
His eyes—dark, empty, dangerous.
Meera didn't step back this time. She couldn't. Not anymore. Fear had already done enough damage. Now, only courage mattered.
"Aarav…" she said, her voice low but steady. "This ends now."
For a moment, there was no response.
Then suddenly—
A faint smirk appeared on Aarav's face.
But it wasn't his.
"You still don't understand, do you?" a deep, distorted voice came out of him. "He doesn't control this anymore."
Rayan cursed under his breath. "Yeah… that's definitely not Aarav talking."
He quickly adjusted the settings on his device, his fingers moving nervously but precisely. The screen flickered, struggling to analyze the unstable energy around Aarav.
"If I push this any further, it might damage him permanently…" Rayan muttered.
"Do it anyway," Meera said instantly.
Rayan looked at her, shocked. "Are you serious?"
Her eyes never left Aarav. "We don't have a choice."
The ground suddenly cracked beneath Aarav's feet. A wave of dark energy burst outward, forcing both Meera and Rayan to step back. The creatures around them let out low growls, as if responding to a command only they could hear.
Inside Aarav's mind…
The darkness had grown stronger.
The same figure stood before him again—but now, it felt bigger. More real. More powerful.
"You're running out of time," it said calmly.
Aarav clenched his fists. "I'm not losing to you."
The figure tilted its head slightly. "You already are."
Before Aarav could react, the figure lunged forward. The impact hit harder than before, sending him crashing to the ground. Pain shot through him—but this wasn't physical. It was deeper. Like something was tearing his identity apart.
"You can't protect them," the figure whispered. "You couldn't before… and you won't now."
Aarav froze.
For a second… doubt appeared.
Outside, his body trembled violently.
"Aarav!" Meera shouted. "Don't listen to it! It's lying!"
Her voice…
It reached him again.
Inside the darkness, Aarav slowly lifted his head. His breathing was heavy, his body weak—but his eyes… they were still fighting.
"I might not be perfect," he said, his voice shaking but determined. "But I don't run away."
The figure's expression hardened.
"Then stand," it said coldly. "And fall again."
Aarav pushed himself up. Slowly. Painfully. But he stood.
Outside, Rayan activated his device at full power.
"THIS IS IT!" he shouted.
A powerful pulse shot toward Aarav, colliding with the dark aura surrounding him. For a brief second—the energy destabilized.
Aarav screamed.
But this time… something was different.
His eyes flickered.
Darkness… to normal… then back again.
"Aarav, fight it!" Meera yelled, stepping closer despite the danger. "You're not alone!"
Inside, the battle reached its peak.
The figure rushed again—but this time, Aarav didn't fall back.
He caught the attack.
For the first time… he resisted.
"This power…" Aarav said, gripping tightly, "It's mine to control!"
A shockwave burst through the darkness.
For a moment… silence.
The figure stepped back. Not defeated—but surprised.
Outside, the energy around Aarav stabilized—just for a second.
Meera smiled faintly. "He's coming back…"
But then—
A deep, chilling voice echoed across the corridor.
"You misunderstand."
The boss stepped forward, its presence crushing everything around it. Even the air felt heavier.
"This is not his power to control," it said. "It is his destiny."
Rayan's device sparked violently. "No… no no no—this is bad!"
Aarav's body froze again.
Inside, the figure smiled.
"You see?" it whispered. "You can't escape what you are."
Aarav's grip loosened.
For a split second… hesitation.
And that was enough.
The darkness surged back—stronger than ever before.
Outside, a massive explosion of energy blasted through the corridor. Walls shattered. The ground broke apart. Meera and Rayan were thrown back by the force.
"AARAV!!" Meera screamed.
When everything settled…
Aarav stood there.
Still. Silent.
Slowly… he lifted his head.
His eyes opened—
completely consumed by darkness
