Chapter 5 - Number 54

As a residential area for the academy's most treasured students, Hulio's estate was located on the far east side of the school, and there was only one official road to it.

To get to this road, one had to travel deep within the school, going past the centre district classrooms and one of the public training facilities.

Where Hulio's carriage came to a stop was beside a running field, the population around not hefty, but at the same time not sparse. Classrooms were still visible at the back.

Most students were in class, but there were still many who came to train, even those classes who were having a training session.

The sight of a carriage carrying a supreme was already cause for everyone's attention, but now to see one of the exalted figures standing on the road, his presence bringing to a stop a carriage carrying the flag of a dragon, everyone's breath hitched.

You didn't need to be a dog to smell the tension in the air, and with undivided attention they watched.

From the carriage, Old Yun stepped down and with a heavy heart and trembling legs he walked ahead.

Standing in the path of his carriage was a young man with purple hair tied with a pin. He wore long plain blue robes, carried a long blue katana and tattooed on the back of his hands was the emblem of the academy.

"Lord Kael," Old Yun bowed.

"I wish to speak with your master," Kael simply said.

His head still bowed, Old Yun swallowed, praying to every god in existence that he would get to go back home to his family today.

"My lord says if you wish to speak to him, you may approach his carriage."

Behind Kael stood three men, all of them dressed in the uniform of the academy and immediately Old Yun finished speaking they snorted.

"He wants Lord Kael to come before his carriage, does your master take our lord for a servant?"

His head still bowed, Old Yun moved his mouth to apologize but a kick from one of the men landed on his side and he was sent flying in the air, landing awkwardly on the roof of the carriage.

While the men behind him cursed at the old driver, Kael walked towards the carriage, moving to the side.

"Lord Hulio, will you grace this lowly servant with your presence," he said mockingly.

Pulling the curtain to the side, Hulio glanced at the man outside.

"Your men attacked my driver."

"Yeah, sorry about that, he spoke too much, so we….." Kael shrugged, feigning helplessness.

"You should forget about him and be more worried for yourself though."

Immediately Kael finished speaking, he took a step back and raised his hands.

"Before all present, I Kael Drake, ranked 54 on the supreme list, challenge Hulio Demoore ranked 33 on the supreme list to a battle for his rank."

Kael did not beat around, he immediately made his intentios know and following his words, silence descended, everyone waiting with baited breath for Hulio's reply.

Within the carriage, Hulio cursed at Kael's audacity.

The supreme list contained the top 100 students of the academy and within the list there was its own hierarchy, a segregation.

The first 50 were considered to be on a whole other level from the remaining and then those in the top 10 were revered like gods, their positions given the name Crown Seats.

The student council might be looking to bring his rank down to 47th but he was still officially ranked 33.

For someone ranked 54 to challenge him, it was an insult to his name.

"Rejected." The words left Hulio's lips, travelling out into the wind, reaching several ears.

Immediately the crowd burst into chatter and ignoring the noise, Hulio looked up.

"Old Yun, let's go."

On top of the carriage, the old man whose body had remained still since being kicked, moved.

With weariness, he sat up and wiping the blood from his lips, descended to take control of the carriage.

Holding the reins of the horses before Old Yun could get them moving though, Kael spoke.

"Not so fast," he chuckled.

"I suspected you would reject my challenge but for you to actually do so, in front of so many people, that's just shameful.

Well, it doesn't matter.

Hulio Demoore, I invoke a seat challenge on you."

"Denied," Hulio said without hesitation.

"You should look at the color of my plate."

Kael hadn't only spoken, when he invoked a seat challenge he had taken out a square shaped red disk.

Glancing past the curtains, Hulio's eyes flashed with suprise at the sight of the red disk, his gaze focusing on his name which was imprinted on it.

A smile stretched on Kael's lips and the next second energy spiked from him.

Boom!!

The explosion came from Hulio's carriage, the vehicle blasting into pieces, a powerful wind at the center of its explosion.

Blood filled the ground, the once beautiful horses now shredded to pieces, and some distance away lay Old Wun's body with several pieces of wood stabbed into him.

Maintaining his smile, Kael withdrew his right palm, turning to his left where Hulio stood unharmed.

"How did you get that?"
