My bones shifted.
Lengthening.
Cracking as they reformed.
—
A second head emerged.
—
Claws extended.
A mane spread across my neck and shoulders.
Armor layered over my body.
—
Spikes burst from my back.
Bone and scale intertwining.
—
A fusion.
Drake.
Lion.
—
My vision split—
Then aligned.
—
Four eyes.
All glowing red.
—
I moved.
—
[Phantom Dash]
—
I landed behind the summoner.
Silent.
—
Both heads struck.
—
Fangs sank into its hooded skull.
—
My claws pinned the body in place.
—
Crack—
—
The head tore free.
—
I tossed it into the air.
—
[Devour]
—
It shattered.
—
Energy poured into me.
Sharp.
Addictive.
—
My eyes dimly glowed.
Magic surged through my veins.
—

—
Growth.
—
It settled within me.
Cold.
Precise.
—
If I continued—
I would rise.
—
The summoner's body collapsed inward.
Then vanished.
—
Something shifted.
—
I looked up.
—
Null stood ahead.
—
Light.
Golden.
—
Around him—
Four shadows formed.
—
They twisted.
Condensed.
—
Took shape.
—
Four figures stood.
Still.
—
Black cloaks.
Hoods drawn low.
Masks hiding their faces.
—
Their eyes—
Gold.
Piercing through the darkness.
—
Daggers lined their waists.
A short blade rested at their sides—broad. Heavy.
—
Small black pauldrons marked their shoulders.
A crescent moon etched into each.
—
Null stood before them.
Changed.
—
His wolf ears were gone.
Replaced by a dark golden wolf mask.
—
Taller.
Larger.
—
Three meters.
—
His armor had shifted.
Chainmail—dense, yet flexible.
—
His cloak remained.
Spiked pauldrons unchanged.
—
At his side—
A chain.
Daggers attached to both ends.
—
The guns were gone.
—
In their place—
Black, dual-bladed tonfas.
—
Silent.
Lethal.
—
Then—
Another shift.

————————
Slightly shaken by the rewards, I tore my gaze away—only to meet Austin.
He was taller now.
And behind him—
Wings.
Two pairs.
Four in total.
Not that counting them mattered.
Flap..Flap..Flap..
Beside him, two more figures hovered. Each bore a single pair of wings, flags gripped firmly in their hands.
So this was the Flagbearer Squad.
…
I had more than one summon now.
Far more.
The realization settled in slowly.
Power.
It surged through me—steady, undeniable.
And yet…
A faint unease followed.
What would they call me… if they knew?
The thought lingered—uncomfortable, unfinished—
Before Austin's voice cut through.
"Young Prince, we are honored by this elevation."
I exhaled quietly, steadying myself.
"…You did well," I said. "That's what matters. Without you… what am I?"
The words came easier than expected.
Not entirely empty.
"I see, my Prince."
A brief pause.
"As for your concern regarding your number of summons—I will explain later. For now… return to your usual form. Unsummon us. There are people approaching."
A flicker of tension tightened in my chest.
I didn't argue.
The summons vanished.
I activated—
(Mirror)
Null's armor formed over me, the mask sealing my face in silence.
In my hand, the system reconstructed the mission paper issued by the Guild Hall.
"Hello there—you're the one sent by the Guild Hall, aren't you?"
I turned calmly. "Yes. That would be me."
A man and a woman stood before me.
Well-dressed.
Especially the man.
A merchant, most likely.
He stepped closer, relief evident in his posture.
"Well… you've done us a great service. If the Guild's envoy had arrived any later, we would've all been dead." He exhaled, tension slipping from his shoulders. "Ah—right. I'm the village head. You'll need my stamp on your mission paper to receive your reward."
I gave a small nod and handed it over.
The woman passed him the stamp.
He pressed it down firmly.
Done.
For a brief moment, I watched the mark settle into the paper.
Final.
Proof.
He waved a hand, signaling behind him.
Two horses pulled a worn cart forward.
"Take what you need," he said. "Anything you deem useful. As a sign of my gratitude."
My gaze lingered on the cart.
Then shifted—briefly—to the villagers behind them.
Alive.
Because of me.
…
I looked back to the supplies.
"Understood."
Ding—
—————————————
Ding—
Entityic Devourer
Evolved Nightmarish Unicorn Magic Heart Core
Detected.
—————————————
My eyes widened—
Immediately calmed
An Entityic Devourer… core?
I suppressed the flicker of surprise.
Of fear.
That… was valuable.
No—
More than that.
I shifted my gaze to the cart.
Necklaces.Swords.Miscellaneous things, scattered without order.
And at the bottom—
A crystalline orb.
Black
Its surface having a faint metallic sheen, pulsing so subtly it was almost unnoticeable.
Barely
I reached down and picked it up.
Cold
Smooth
It hardly fit in my hands
"I'll be taking this."
The merchant nodded without question.
I turned and walked away from the village.
Only once the distance stretched far enough did I slow.
For a moment, I stared at the orb resting in my grasp.
Then—
I willed it inward.
It dissolved into my palm, entering into my soul space without resistance.
…
I summoned Austin.
"Austin, can we head back to the Guild Hall… and then to my dorm?"
"We can. However, teleportation is limited. It must be tied to a mission location—or somewhere you've already been."
"I understand. I've been to my dorm. That should be enough."
"Alright then."
Austin raised his flag—
And drove it into the ground.
Swoosh—
A runic formation unfolded beneath us, lines of light weaving into a circular portal. It hummed softly.
He gestured.
I stepped forward.
It felt like plunging into water—
Cold. Weightless.
Then—
A pull.
My body stretched for a fraction of a second before snapping back into place.
I emerged on the other side.
…
We stood a short distance from the Guild Hall.
Behind me, the portal lingered, anchored by the flag planted at its edge. Austin stepped forward, pulling it free.
The structure collapsed instantly.
Gone.
I dismissed him.
With the mission paper in hand, I entered the Guild Hall.
It was still bustling—
Though quieter than before.
My steps carried me to the reception.
The man behind the counter looked up, his gaze lingering.
"Well, well… you're the one from earlier, aren't you? Genesis-Order?"
"Yes."
He leaned back slightly, studying me.
"Back already? Gave up?"
A pause.
Then he exhaled, shaking his head.
"…Honestly, this kind of work isn't meant for kids. You should think about your life a bit more. You'll just end up getting yourself killed."
