Volume 2 — Chapter 15
The Hunter Arrives
The war had reached a terrifying scale.
Across the Creator's Dimension, battlefields burned without pause. Entire landscapes had been transformed into shattered ruins by the endless conflict between Heaven, Hell, and the countless independent factions caught between them.
Millions of participants now fought in the war.
Mountains had collapsed under waves of divine abilities.
Forests had been reduced to blackened wastelands by demonic fire.
Cities built by ambitious factions had already fallen, their ruins scattered across the endless world.
Yet despite the destruction, the war continued to expand.
More armies marched every day.
More soldiers died every hour.
And above this chaos—
The Void ruler watched.
---
High above a fractured battlefield filled with burning craters and broken stone, two figures floated silently in the sky.
Icarus Grimm hovered motionlessly, his wings of fractured reality stretching outward behind him like torn fragments of the universe itself.
The air around him carried a faint distortion, as if space itself struggled to remain stable in his presence.
Beside him floated Seraphine.
She looked down at the battlefield beneath them with quiet observation.
Thousands of fighters were clashing below.
Divine soldiers wielding radiant weapons collided with demonic warriors surrounded by dark flames.
Explosions erupted continuously across the battlefield.
Lightning storms raged across the sky.
Entire sections of the ground collapsed under overwhelming attacks.
Seraphine watched for several moments before speaking.
"…It's getting worse."
Icarus didn't respond immediately.
Seraphine gestured toward the battlefield below.
"The scale of the war."
She paused.
"They're deploying larger armies now."
Nexus spoke inside Icarus's mind.
[Battlefield analysis complete.]
[Estimated total participants involved in current conflict zones: 3.1 million.]
Seraphine let out a slow breath.
"Three million."
She looked toward Icarus.
"And they're all trying to reach you."
Icarus remained calm.
His gaze slowly moved across the battlefield.
Heaven's forces charged in disciplined formations.
Hell's warriors advanced in chaotic but powerful waves.
But despite their constant clashes—
Something about the war still felt unnatural.
Seraphine noticed it too.
"They're still doing it."
Icarus glanced at her.
Seraphine folded her arms.
"They fight each other just enough to make it believable…"
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"But their armies keep drifting toward the same area."
She looked directly at him.
"Your territory."
Another explosion erupted below as two powerful commanders clashed violently.
Shockwaves rippled across the battlefield.
Seraphine sighed.
"They're trying very hard to keep you busy."
Icarus remained silent.
But Nexus spoke again.
[Unknown energy signature detected previously is now approaching rapidly.]
[Current distance: 120 kilometers.]
Seraphine looked toward the distant northern mountains again.
"…That thing."
Icarus nodded slightly.
"Yes."
Seraphine frowned.
"Still unknown?"
[Energy classification remains unidentified.]
She exhaled slowly.
"Well."
"That's rarely good news."
---
Far away from the battlefield…
Inside the floating chamber of divine stone…
The gods and devils observed the war through a massive projection.
Thousands of glowing markers covered the map of the dimension.
Armies moved constantly.
Battlefields erupted across every region.
But the figures gathered around the circular table were focused on something else entirely.
A single glowing signal slowly moving across the northern mountains.
One of the devils leaned back in his chair with a satisfied grin.
"It's almost there."
The armored god nodded calmly.
"Distance to target: approximately ninety kilometers."
Another god spoke quietly.
"The Void ruler remains within the predicted region."
The young god who had shown hesitation earlier looked uneasy.
"…If it reaches him…"
The devil interrupted with a chuckle.
"Oh, it will."
He tapped the table lightly.
"That thing doesn't stop once it finds a worthy opponent."
The armored god looked toward the projection.
"For centuries these constructs have existed for a single purpose."
"Adaptive combat evolution."
The devil grinned.
"And now it has finally found something interesting."
---
Back in the northern mountains…
A lone figure stood on the edge of a massive cliff.
The valley below stretched endlessly into the distance.
Far beyond the mountains, flashes of battle illuminated the sky.
The war.
The figure observed the distant horizon silently.
Its appearance was humanoid.
Tall.
Perfectly balanced.
Its body was covered in sleek white armor that seemed almost organic.
Thin glowing lines of energy moved slowly across its surface.
In its right hand, it held a long blade.
The weapon appeared simple at first glance.
But faint distortions rippled along its edge.
As if space itself was being cut apart simply by existing near it.
The figure slowly lifted its head.
Its eyes locked onto the distant battlefield.
And beyond that—
A single presence.
The Void ruler.
For a moment the figure remained completely still.
Then it took a step forward.
The ground beneath its foot cracked slightly.
Not from force.
But from the unstable energy surrounding its body.
Then another step.
And another.
Each movement silent.
Precise.
Unstoppable.
The hunter had finally reached its prey.
---
Back above the battlefield…
Icarus suddenly stopped moving.
Seraphine noticed instantly.
"…What?"
Nexus responded immediately.
[Energy signature detected.]
[Distance: 15 kilometers.]
Seraphine looked toward the mountains.
"…Already?"
The air shifted slightly.
A strange pressure spread across the region.
The battlefield below began slowing down.
Some fighters hesitated.
Others looked around in confusion.
Even the wind seemed to weaken.
Seraphine narrowed her eyes.
"You feel that?"
Icarus nodded slowly.
"Yes."
The energy was unlike anything he had encountered before.
It wasn't divine.
It wasn't demonic.
It wasn't even similar to the monsters of this dimension.
It felt…
Artificial.
But incredibly powerful.
Then suddenly—
A figure appeared on the distant ridge of a mountain.
Standing completely still.
Watching them.
Even from this distance, its presence was unmistakable.
Seraphine stared toward the figure.
"…Well."
"That must be it."
The figure on the mountain began walking forward.
Then something strange happened.
The battlefield below slowly began to quiet down.
Heaven's armies retreated.
Hell's forces withdrew.
Commanders ordered their soldiers to pull back.
Within minutes—
The battlefield was empty.
Seraphine blinked.
"…That's new."
Icarus's eyes remained fixed on the approaching figure.
Then Nexus spoke again.
[Entity analysis in progress.]
[Classification identified.]
A new message appeared in Icarus's mind.
[Entity: Creator's Descendant]
Seraphine noticed the shift in his expression.
"…What did Nexus say?"
Icarus spoke calmly.
"It's called a Creator's Descendant."
Seraphine frowned.
"…That doesn't sound friendly."
The figure reached the center of the battlefield.
It stopped walking.
Then slowly lifted its blade.
The weapon pointed directly toward Icarus.
For the first time since arriving in this dimension—
Icarus smiled faintly.
Finally.
Something interesting.
The hunter had arrived.
And the real battle was about to begin.
