Volume 2 — Chapter 14
The One Approaching
The war continued to burn across the Creator's Dimension.
Endless battlefields stretched across forests, deserts, mountains, and ruined plains. Millions of participants were now involved in the conflict.
Heaven's forces marched under banners of divine light.
Hell's armies advanced like storms of darkness.
Independent factions fought desperately between them, trying to survive the endless clashes.
Cities built by powerful factions had already fallen.
Entire regions had been turned into wastelands.
Yet the war showed no signs of ending.
If anything—
It was growing larger.
---
High above a battlefield filled with shattered stone and burning craters, two figures watched the chaos below.
Icarus Grimm floated silently in the sky.
His wings of fractured reality stretched behind him like torn fragments of space itself.
Void energy moved slowly around his body, twisting through the air like living shadows.
Beside him hovered Seraphine.
Her silver hair moved gently in the wind as she observed the battlefield beneath them.
Thousands of fighters clashed across the ruined landscape.
Divine abilities collided with demonic power.
Lightning storms erupted.
Dark flames devoured entire sections of the battlefield.
The ground shook continuously under the force of massive attacks.
Seraphine watched quietly for a moment before speaking.
"…They've stopped pretending."
Icarus didn't respond.
Seraphine gestured toward the battlefield below.
Heaven's forces had formed massive assault formations.
Hell's armies were advancing in equally large waves.
But instead of fighting each other properly—
Both sides kept redirecting parts of their armies toward the same direction.
Toward the Void territory.
Seraphine sighed softly.
"They're not even trying to hide it anymore."
Another explosion erupted below them as two armies collided violently.
Thousands of soldiers charged forward at once.
The battlefield erupted into chaos again.
Seraphine folded her arms.
"Your popularity keeps growing."
Icarus's gaze remained fixed on the horizon.
Nexus spoke inside his mind.
[Energy signature previously detected has increased in intensity.]
[Estimated distance from current location: 240 kilometers.]
Seraphine noticed his focus.
"…Still thinking about that?"
Icarus nodded slightly.
"The energy."
Seraphine looked toward the northern mountains again.
From this distance nothing could be seen.
Just endless peaks stretching across the horizon.
But Nexus continued speaking.
[Energy source is approaching this region.]
Seraphine raised an eyebrow.
"So something is coming to us."
She smiled faintly.
"Well… that's convenient."
Icarus remained silent.
But his gaze had grown slightly sharper.
---
Far away from the battlefield…
Inside the floating divine chamber…
The gods and devils continued observing the war through a massive projection.
The glowing map displayed countless battlefields across the dimension.
Millions of fighters moved across the landscape like swarms of ants.
But the figures around the table were watching something else.
A single glowing marker slowly moving across the northern mountains.
One of the devils chuckled quietly.
"It's getting closer."
The armored god nodded.
"Yes."
Another god spoke calmly.
"Current trajectory confirms it will reach the Void territory within two days."
The young god from earlier looked uneasy.
"…Are we certain this is wise?"
The devils exchanged amused glances.
One of them leaned forward slightly.
"You're worried."
The young god frowned.
"That thing doesn't belong to Heaven or Hell."
Another god responded calmly.
"That is precisely why it will work."
The devil grinned.
"The Void ruler cannot be killed by armies."
His crimson eyes gleamed slightly.
"But that thing…"
He tapped the table softly.
"…was designed for battles like this."
---
Back in the distant mountains…
A lone figure walked across a silent valley.
The ground beneath its feet cracked slightly with each step.
Not from force.
But from the unstable energy surrounding its body.
The air around it distorted continuously.
Reality itself seemed uncomfortable with its presence.
The figure moved slowly but steadily across the terrain.
Its eyes scanned the distant horizon.
Far away—
A faint battlefield glow lit the sky.
The war.
And somewhere beyond that battlefield…
Its target.
The figure stopped briefly on a high cliff.
For a moment it simply stood there.
Watching the distant horizon.
Then it began walking again.
Each step bringing it closer.
Closer to the battlefield.
Closer to the Void ruler.
---
Back above the battlefield…
Icarus suddenly shifted slightly in the air.
Seraphine noticed immediately.
"…What?"
Icarus looked toward the northern mountains.
His voice was calm.
"It's closer."
Nexus confirmed instantly.
[Distance to unknown energy source: 190 kilometers.]
Seraphine looked toward the distant peaks again.
Still nothing visible.
But the air felt slightly heavier.
Even from this far away.
Seraphine exhaled slowly.
"Well."
She stretched her arms slightly before looking back at Icarus.
"Looks like your war is about to get interesting."
Below them, another massive battle erupted as Heaven and Hell forces collided once again.
Thousands of fighters died within seconds.
But neither Icarus nor Seraphine paid attention to the battlefield anymore.
Both of them were looking toward the distant mountains.
Toward the approaching presence.
Because whatever was coming…
It wasn't part of the war.
And it definitely wasn't coming for the armies below.
It was coming for one person.
The Void ruler.
