Chapter 23 - Chapter 42-43

Chapter 42 – Quite a Sight

North Shore, Oahu – February 2016

The sun shone brightly on the crystal-clear blue Hawaiian sky, reflecting off the perfect waves that gently broke against the golden sand. The warm breeze carried the scent of the sea mixed with the sweet aroma of the surrounding tropical flowers.

Jason Gibbs sat in a lounge chair, a cold beer in hand, sunglasses covering his eyes as he watched the ocean.

But, to be honest…

He wasn't exactly looking at the sea.

In fact, he was looking at something much more interesting.

Ziva David walked along the sand in a black bikini that, in Jason's opinion, should be considered a lethal weapon.

Jason's Gaze

Her hair was loose, wavy in the wind, her skin golden from the sun. The bikini, even though discreet, accentuated every curve of her body in an almost criminal way.

Jason took a sip of his beer slowly, without taking his eyes off her.

She knew he was watching.

And Jason knew she knew.

Ziva stopped at the water's edge, letting the waves lap at her feet, stretching her arms upward in a slight stretch.

Jason raised an eyebrow.

"If you're trying to torture me, you're succeeding."

Ziva turned, smiling slightly, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

She started walking back, her hips swaying naturally, and Jason felt his mouth go dry.

"Yes, you do."

She grabbed the towel from the chair beside him and leaned over purposefully to dry her arms, bringing her face dangerously close to his.

"Are you distracted, Gibbs?"

Jason smiled slowly, leaning closer.

"Definitely."

In the Water

Shortly after, they ran into the sea, laughing like two children.

Jason hugged Ziva from behind, lifting her into the air as she screamed and laughed.

"Jason! Let me go!"

"Hmmm… let me think…"

And then, he dove into the water with her.

Ziva emerged, coughing and tossing her wet hair back, looking at him with a feigned expression of indignation.

"You just sealed your fate."

Jason laughed.

"Is that a threat?"

She smiled in a way that sent a shiver down his spine.

"It's a promise."

They spent the rest of the day teasing each other, laughing, and enjoying the simple pleasure of being together.

And Jason…

Well, he would never complain about seeing Ziva in a bikini.

Because, honestly?

It was quite a sight.

Chapter 43 – The Legend of Five-0

Honolulu, Hawaii – March 2016

The sound of waves crashing against the shore mingled with the murmur of people in the seaside restaurant where Jason Gibbs and Ziva David were seated. The warm ocean breeze blew gently, ruffling Ziva's hair as she watched Jason curiously.

He was engrossed in reading a local newspaper, one eyebrow raised as he scanned the headlines.

Ziva, taking a sip of her fresh pineapple juice, leaned forward slightly.

"You seem interested in something."

Jason turned the newspaper so she could see.

The headline read:

"Five-0 Task Force: Combating Crime with Military Tactics"

Ziva narrowed her eyes and picked up the newspaper, quickly reading the first few paragraphs.

"An elite special unit created by the Hawaii state government to deal with high-level crimes…" she murmured, then looked up at Jason. "This sounds like something you could have created."

Jason smiled slightly.

"The name wasn't unfamiliar. I remember my father mentioning it years ago."

Ziva placed the newspaper on the table.

"Did Gibbs know about this task force?"

Jason nodded, crossing his arms.

"Yes. He talked about it when it was created, in 2010. Apparently, the governor of Hawaii wanted a unit with complete autonomy to deal with local threats."

Ziva frowned.

"And who leads it?"

Jason picked up the newspaper again, pointing to a prominent name.

"Steve McGarrett. Former commander of DEVGRU."

Ziva raised an eyebrow.

"SEAL Team 6?"

Jason nodded.

"Himself. The guy served on counterterrorism missions, direct combat, and clandestine operations."

Ziva crossed her arms, thoughtful.

"So Hawaii has its own little military unit disguised as a police force."

Jason smiled.

"Exactly."

Ziva twirled her glass between her fingers, thoughtful.

"I admit, I'm curious to see how they operate."

Jason watched her for a moment before leaning across the table.

"Are you thinking of going there and asking them in person?"

She smiled slightly.

"Maybe."

Jason chuckled.

"I knew it. You can't resist when it comes to special units."

Ziva raised an eyebrow.

"And you can resist?"

Jason took a sip of his cold beer and smiled.

"Fair touch."

Ziva leaned back in her chair, looking out at the sea.

"Do you think they've heard of us?"

Jason smiled slightly.

"Absolutely." The military and intelligence circles are small.

Ziva looked at him, fidgeting with a napkin.

"Then perhaps we should pay a polite visit."

Jason sighed deeply and laughed.

"I knew this would happen."

Ziva smiled, raising her glass in a toast.

"To new adventures?"

Jason picked up his beer and clinked it against her glass.

"To new adventures."
