Chapter 7 - An Early Morning

I unknowingly fell asleep next to Marcilene the day before and the sun became low, being transformed into the moon.

Steel woke me for an early morning "talk", but we've just been standing here for a while outside of the cabin.

He wore his signature white top and long brown pants, that has a rope holding it up.

Still inside the small rock wall for a gate, but with just a little light from the moon to see.

"Steel, what are we doing here?"

I asked Steel, my voice cracked at in the midnight moonlight.

"You said you'd learn to fight for your sister?"

Steel paused as he looked up towards the moon, his red aura was brimming slowly traveling like an endless road through his body.

"Did you truly mean that? Was that the truth Lazuli?"

The way he said my name, it was like he tested me just from the fact of calling for my name.

I nodded my head, and saw something, that, I know will forever be engraved into my brain.

His flow of his aura. The way that it moves it shocks me.

It was like it was spiking out in all directions at the same time, it was also returning into his body, like a big explosion.

And then abruptly he stopped it all and took a breathe.

"Your much to early for me to be using that type of power on you."

I took a breath so deep, my lungs felt they'd explode.

At the same time I dropped to my knee and my eyes became to blur, I know that it was the same eye that made me see those weird colors around people because the fact that I couldn't see Steel's aura.

My eye had a sting, that felt it was coming from the inside of my eye.

Steel rushed over to me so fast, it looked like the dust off his body had stayed in place, like those old school cartoons.

He knelt down beside me grabbing me before my fall.

"You okay Lazi?"

He said, the way he spoke was in a scared tone, like he just shot me.

"By Erical, The Stone god. You're bleeding out your eye."

Steel is able to lift me off the ground with ease and begins to bring me into the cabin.

Walking with his back onto the door to make sure he doesn't use his hands, while he's holding me.

The door hits the other end of the wall behind it, it woke Marcilene.

I could tell from her voice and her loud thumping.

With a great thud on the ground from her in the other room, and her voice coming through in a polite but concerned manner from around the corner:

"Dad, Lazi? What happened? Where you at?"

Steel comes around the corner with me in his arms.

My blood, making bloody drips as I am placed onto the bed.

"My eye hurts Steel."

Hysteria begins to seep into my viice, but in a calmer sense.

Like I can't believe that it's happening to me:

"Why does it seem a lot more red?"

No, I'm right this can't be happening, the red, it's from the aura that Steel gives off, that's the truth.

That's the only way I'd be seeing more red Afterall.

"Hey. Hey. Lazuli. You need to stay up."

Marcilene looks to me then over to Steel then back to me:

"Dad, dad, what's happening, what do we do?"

"Okay, Okay. The village doctor yeah. I'll take him over to Vic and Vic will patch him up."

Steel sounded concerned about me but, I felt very good.

"Who's Vic?"

My mind didn't even feel the pain that sting my eye anymore.

"Vic is a doctor. He should be able to heal you."

Steel told me as he picked me up off the ground.

My garments felt full of sweat, I don't know why, it felt really cold as of right now.

"I don't need a doctor."

I turned my face to Marcilene.

"Marcilene, when did you start to get red aura as well?"

'That's surprising, I remember she had an orange aura around her.'

Steel picked me up off the couch and he headed for the door.

He once again opened the door.

My head felt like it was spinning.

The walls were upside down, until they got closer, and closer, and closer.

The small brick wall seemed small compared to my current height in Steel's arms.

"Where are we going?"

My mind had a slip, I forgot where we were going.

The gate for the door was pushed open with his knee.

The first time I've been outside, my head was dangling upside down.

There was more houses on the other side of ours, I never saw them, I never really spoke to them, they were just people that walked around the place.

That's the same for when I was in the other world, I had neighbors, I saw them every now and again, a nice old lady, or a friendly guy, but I never had the chance to go out and actually talk to them.

I was always stuck to my place, once after work, it was time to be a maid for the two people that called themselves my parents.

Steel ran past many houses, some follow the same formula of building as our houses.

The houses in the middle, the brick wall on the outside.

Most didn't have the same two story format, instead they were confided to a one story house.

The night sky was still up, many people inside were not even awake yet when Steel ran past houses.

He ran fast too, zooming past houses at such incredible speeds, but to me it was all in slow motion.

My mouth turned into a grin as I saw everything like that.

The aura's of everything wasn't different though, it showed red no matter where I saw.

"Steel what's wrong? I can't see that well."

My eye began to be blocked out with red.

It started to get dark as time slowly slipped by.

The moon, was following me as it Steel ran.

'That's funny.'

Though it was going closer and closer to the horizon, and those were bound to meet in maybe a hour or maybe later.

We get to a halt.

I could here the dirt being kicked up from Steel's foot when he came to a stop.

"Where are we?"

The house we were at had no lights on at this current time, so it was dark.

I couldn't see anything of it besides a wooden cabin just like ours.

A small gate, but this one is more… nice, with it being wooden and all along with it being higher too.

Steel lifts me up higher as to not hit my head on the gate.

I look up to Steel, his face was full of concern, but for who.

My eye stung for some reason.

I picked up my hand to wipe away at it.

The same time Steel pounded on the door.

As I wiped it, I moved my hand back and saw something that was frightening to me… blood.

'But why am I bleeding?'

I begin to convulse, my body shakes around in Steel's arms.

I can't stop it.

'Why am I doing this?'

Steel pounds on the door again.

Steel moves back and leans down, putting me on the ground.

"VIC!"

Steel yelled, but that all I heard before my vision faded…
