IVY
The punch came at Ivy's face with no warning.
She barely ducked under it. Her legs pushed her backward and she shifted her weight like Kai had taught her. The rogue fighter who'd thrown the punch was already coming at her again, moving faster.
Ivy blocked the second hit and countered with a strike of her own. Her fist connected with ribs and the fighter grunted. Not because she was strong but because she'd finally learned how to hit from her whole body instead of just her arms.
Three days ago, she would have lost this fight in seconds.
Now she was holding her own.
"Again," Kai called from across the courtyard. He was standing with his arms crossed, watching like he was keeping score. Like he was measuring exactly how much she'd improved. "You're still telegraphing your left side."
