"Why are you up so early today?"
Hurley slowly walked down the stairs, still wearing pajamas, her eyes hazy, looking very tired.
Harry had indeed gotten up very early because he had suddenly had an inspiration in his mind.
"Got up to design some new things."
Whoosh!
The violent sound of breaking air instantly woke Hurley up. She saw Harry standing on something that looked like a skateboard, flying back and forth in the underground laboratory, extremely agile!
"What is that? Some kind of flying vehicle?"
"My father's invention, a single-soldier flying vehicle." Harry slowly landed on the platform. "This is his proudest invention, but the performance was too strong, and in the end, it wasn't picked up by the Military."
For ordinary people, the performance of this machine was indeed terrifyingly strong. It was impossible for ordinary people to fight in this state. This was a single-soldier weapon, not a fighter jet, but it fully possessed the ability to fly at supersonic speeds.
Whether an ordinary person could withstand the pressure while standing on the flying vehicle during supersonic flight was another matter entirely.
But for Harry, it was a bit lacking.
Harry had improved the materials used for the flying vehicle and tried to add a new type of electric propulsion system—he had been conceiving it for a long time but had never completed the design until this morning, when he suddenly had a new idea, and it succeeded. Now the flying vehicle was more agile and faster.
Honestly, this shocked him and made him very happy—this feeling was as refreshing as breaking through a realm in a fantasy World.
If one were to dig deep into this technology, one would find that it was not simple. Before this, he had been relying on the system to obtain technology, and the knowledge he had learned seemed like mere decoration. Now, the invention of the electric propulsion system had greatly boosted his confidence.
"Are you talking about that project whose performance exceeded human limits and was ultimately abandoned?" Hurley was clearly aware of this and said angrily, "That's too dangerous! Harry!"
"Aren't I fine? Don't be angry." Harry hugged the beauty, in a very good mood.
"No." Hurley pushed Harry away. "You have to understand, you are the owner of the Osborn Group! You should be responsible for your own safety!"
"Are you worried about me, or the Osborn Group?"
"Of course it's you!"
The two gazed at each other for a while, then Harry scooped up Hurley, and amidst her exclamation, carried her back to his bedroom.
"Let me go, I still have to go back to work!"
After a bout of intimacy, half the day had already passed.
"How about it, do you still want to go back to work now?" Harry said, stroking Hurley.
"I need to rest, I want to take a day off, can you approve it, Mr. Chairman?"
"Of course."
Harry enjoyed this kind of life very much; this was a life he couldn't have enjoyed even after thousands of years of working in his previous life.
Sometimes he would think that just being a small rich man like this wouldn't be bad, but that was just a thought; the World was too dangerous, and he couldn't stop here.
Ring-ring. The phone rang.
"Son, have you seen the news?" It was his father, Norman. "Stark is coming back."
Hearing this, Harry turned on the TV.
"Recently, the missing Tony Stark has been found by the Military and is currently receiving temporary treatment locally."
"It is understood that the Military discovered fighting in the militant camp, promptly dispatched armored troops, and rescued this billionaire."
"According to my understanding, he will return to the country next week, shortly after the power station is completed." Norman was now considered a politician, and Harry did not doubt the authenticity of the news.
In fact, according to the latest poll, Norman would undoubtedly be elected as a New York State Senator.
"I know, father."
Stark was coming back.
But unfortunately, the energy industry he was going to enter after changing his career had already been preempted by Harry.
The feeling of a monopoly being about to be broken wasn't good, but fortunately, the Osborn Group had already become a shareholder of Stark Industries, and Harry also planned to increase his shareholding.
No way around it, some things were just pure cheating; the stress-cancellation system on the mark armor, human-machine interaction, artificial intelligence, that unscientific appearance that could achieve magic-like protective effects—these were all very difficult to explain using the science Harry once knew.
Since he couldn't suppress him, he would find a way to suck some blood from him.
Besides, Stark was essentially a superhero, and that didn't conflict with Harry.
"Did you know Stark would come back? His return this time will make us quite a bit of money." Hurley naturally heard the news too.
She was talking about the stock market. From her perspective, it was hard not to suspect whether Harry knew some inside information.
"Do I look like the type of person who would play the stock market? I am an industrialist. Besides, I had no idea he was kidnapped; I just thought the timing was good. Buying shares in Stark at a low price is beneficial in the long run."
Harry said while putting on his clothes.
"Besides, the Osborn Group's value will skyrocket soon. Compared to Stark Industries, what we earn can be called honest money; we don't lack the peanuts from arms dealers."
As far as Harry knew, Stark Industries was currently playing both sides, and the most ridiculous thing was that the equipment they sold to hostile militants didn't even have the Stark Industries name wiped off.
Hurley rolled her eyes and didn't refute Harry's words.
"I'm going to continue my experiment; you can continue to rest."
Walking to the experimental bench, Harry continued to debug the electric propulsion system.
Harry did not choose to abandon the original chemical propulsion system but adopted a mode that combined the two for two reasons:
First, the pure electric propulsion power was much lower than the original chemical propulsion power. Considering his own weight, he still couldn't abandon Norman's design.
Second, the energy problem.
The flying vehicle used an isotope thermoelectric battery—the same technology used in exoskeletons and power armor, but with higher power and performance.
The performance of this battery could certainly be considered powerful, but it could only support the flying vehicle at full power output for 40 hours.
Harry needed better energy, and the Osborn Group needed it too.
Thinking of this, Harry called Dr. Otto.
"Doctor, congratulations on the upcoming completion of the fusion power station. I've been too busy these past few days to congratulate you."
"Thank you, Harry. The success of this technology also has your contribution. You will be at the completion ceremony in four days, right?"
"Of course, I will certainly be there for such an important event." Harry said while rolling up the existing design drawings.
Every time he did this, Harry would secretly curse his own stupidity.
He had always wanted an artificial intelligence like Jarvis, but unfortunately, he couldn't do it.
"Doctor, do you have time now? I'd like to discuss future research directions with you."
"Miniaturization? Did I guess right?" Dr. Otto was clearly thinking along the same lines as Harry. "I've also been thinking about how to shrink the reactor. Should I come over now?"
Harry thought for a moment and declined Dr. Otto.
"I'll come over; you'll have better equipment there."
Before leaving, Harry looked at the drawings on the table, then looked at his bedroom, and after hesitating, hid a few of the drawings.
