Blume Corporation is finished.
Hit by scandals and the death of its financial backers, the Osborn Group easily acquired the company and then dismantled and reorganized it.
Now, Grady-Fruhl Company has been successfully established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Osborn Group.
Although Bone and Freller didn't seem like the best material for managing a company, having learned from past mistakes, they took it to heart and learned quickly.
The original ctOS had already been ruined by hackers. After careful consideration, Bone decided to completely abandon the old version of ctOS and redesign a system from the ground up based on the data of the first version.
[ctOS has been completely destroyed; the derivative system is under the host's control.]
[Mission Complete]
[Reward: Space Construction]
[From now on, we have learned how to directly construct orbital space stations and other small space facilities in space.]
[Looking at the Earth from the sky.]
Something big is coming.
This technology primarily gave Harry the ability to directly build satellites, orbital space stations, and even asteroid mining stations in space.
It was the first step toward space.
Harry didn't want to go head-to-head with Thanos alongside the superheroes like in the Marvel movies; they might win that way, but the price would definitely be agonizingly high.
In Harry's view, it was a miracle that in the original story, after the heroes were crushed in Avengers 4, the World could return to normal as if nothing had ever happened.
From a realistic perspective, the disappearance of half the population would absolutely cause immeasurable damage to society. Moreover, these people disappeared and then reappeared; even if their physical safety was guaranteed, the impact on social relationships would be enormous.
Imagine a person in a high position; in their perception, in just an instant, their subordinate had climbed over them, and they themselves had become a dead person.
How would such social relations be handled? Should the old guard return to their positions? Then what about the newcomers? Would they agree? In the end, it would likely devolve into a war between two factions.
Thanos provoked a war, so naturally, he should be met with war. From this perspective, Harry agreed with Tony's idea of taking the fight beyond Earth; he didn't want to suffer several rounds of orbital bombardment from those space battleships.
What he needed was a fleet.
"Harry, are you listening? You can't do this! You've only been in Chicago for a week and you've caused such a huge mess! Also, company acquisitions need to follow a process; such a crude acquisition will cause many problems!"
Hurley slapped the table, pulling Harry's thoughts back.
"But that really didn't have much to do with me. It would have happened even if I hadn't gone," Harry said, acting innocent.
In this matter, Harry really had only nudged the process along.
All he did was throw down tens of millions and get back a software company with infinite potential; Harry thought it was a great deal.
However, it wasn't like that in Hurley's eyes.
"Some people are speculating that the company's involvement in this matter—"
"Then let them guess. Let the media publish a few more articles, just like before." Harry showed he didn't care. Let them guess; the facts were what had been exposed. Believe it or not.
Hurley rolled her eyes and handed over a document.
"I've put the details of this acquisition here."
Harry nodded, but he had no intention of looking at the material, instead continuing:
"Additionally, I've already had them come to New York. I want this system installed in New York—from now on, this system will be bundled with the power stations. Wherever a power station is built, we'll market this thing there."
"That might be a bit difficult. After all, this system isn't a fusion power station, and especially with its prior notoriety, those politicians won't like it."
"Then we'll use bundled sales. The benefits of the system are greater than they imagine. Once it's all installed here in New York, they'll see."
Hurley tapped her pen. "Bundled sales, huh? Sounds like some kind of bloatware."
Harry didn't argue. Bundled sales weren't a normal marketing strategy to begin with; it was purely because it was currently a seller's market.
If you're unhappy, go ask Stark for a power station!
By comparison, Dr. Otto's technology was clearly more suitable for large-scale urban power supply and was cleaner.
If they could accept the pollution produced by palladium element decay, Harry wouldn't mind them going to Stark. Regardless, if Stark made money, he would get a cut.
In reality, Tony only switched to clean new energy for Stark Tower in Avengers 1—but now, they were already using Osborn's nuclear power.
"So, is there anything else? Harry, I must remind you, The Group has a lot of business now. You have to pay attention yourself; it's not like before."
It seemed the Osborn Group had too many important matters recently, and Hurley was getting overwhelmed.
Harry felt a bit embarrassed about this. After all, he was the CEO, yet he basically dumped everything on others and ignored it.
However, once it was promoted, New York would hold no secrets from Harry, and things would be much easier then.
"Hmm, busy with affairs, are we?" Harry put his arm around Hurley.
"If you know it's busy, you should focus on company business," Hurley said without looking up.
"But there's one more thing I need you to help handle."
"Alright, I knew you wouldn't let me off. Go ahead."
"I want to establish a new subsidiary to be responsible for researching aerospace technology."
Hurley was stunned.
"What's wrong? Stark can have satellites in the sky; is it not appropriate for Osborn to have them?"
Harry wasn't doing this on a whim. For one, since the system had unlocked Space Construction technology for him, he would head to space sooner or later.
And many of ctOS's functions were satellite-based. Using someone else's satellites, even if he bought one from them, didn't sit well with him.
Even if Tony gave him one for free, he wouldn't dare take it; that guy was a master at installing backdoors.
"It's not a matter of whether it's appropriate. Osborn hasn't invested in this area in the past. If we start from scratch, the costs will be very high."
Hurley's words weren't without merit.
Osborn's main business in the past had always been biotechnology. Of course, with the success of the power armor, the defense industry had also become one of its major businesses.
As for aerospace, Osborn indeed didn't have much investment in that area; it was quite a complex field.
But with the system's technology, Harry already possessed considerable strength technically.
It's just that this time, he couldn't find anyone else to work for him.
"Then I'll handle this company myself. I have the technology."
"You?"
Hurley didn't quite understand. Harry was very smart, but no matter how smart a person is, there should be some groundwork for inventing something.
The things Harry had come up with before could be explained by him studying biological sciences or even mechanical design since childhood.
But satellites and aerospace didn't seem to relate to those at all.
"It's me." Harry wouldn't explain anything; anyway, it was something where results would speak for themselves.
"Alright, but I must remind you, this is a major decision."
Perhaps worried that Harry was making this decision based on irrational thoughts, Hurley added:
"Wanting to enter a field the company has never touched before can easily drag the company into a quagmire."
To this, Harry indicated he knew what he was doing.
He also wanted to test what level his creativity and inventive abilities actually were.
"Then that's it; there's basically nothing else."
Harry leaned back into his chair; he needed to rest and then consider the matter of aerospace technology.
Just as he opened his phone, he found a piece of breaking news:
"Billionaire Tony Stark attacked while driving a race car."
It was from a week ago. It seemed Tony had already been taught a lesson by that Soviet, and the plot of Iron Man 2 was almost reaching its climax.
At the same time, Harry's phone began to ring.
