Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: New Element

"Why didn't you come to my birthday party?" It was Tony calling.

The so-called birthday party was the one where his mark armor was stolen.

Judging by Tony's behavior, he didn't seem to take the USB drive Harry left behind seriously and still threw a debauched party.

"Work. What, I heard you got into a fight with your own equipment at your birthday party, and your high-tech prosthesis was snatched away?"

"Forget about that. That new element—how did you get its structure?" Tony spoke very quickly. "It's very effective. Among your hundreds of wild guesses, there was one that completely matched the new element I needed!"

That is to say, after the party, Tony still looked at the materials Harry left behind; it was just unclear when he did so.

"I thought of it. So, did I save your life or what?" Harry shamelessly took credit for himself.

Anyway, S.H.I.E.L.D. did the same thing. At most, they gave Tony a hint, while Harry had sent over the entire structure!

"You? I found this new element in some of my father's literature; it has nothing to do with you. But if you want, the Expo isn't over yet. I can arrange a special booth for Osborn at the Stark Expo, right near Iron Man."

"So that's how you plan to thank me? I thought Osborn participating in your Expo was to add to your fame. Also, your Iron Man Suit doesn't seem very reliable. I saw what happened in Monaco."

This refers to Anton Vanko attacking Tony at the race track.

This former Soviet Union citizen had also tinkered together an Arc Reactor. With the help of the Ten Rings Gang, he successfully entered the place where Tony was racing and had a superhero showdown with Tony.

However, his equipment was too poor, and he was easily dealt with by Tony.

"Not very reliable? I took care of that madman easily."

Harry decisively interrupted Tony's boasting:

"Easily? That guy was only wearing a tattered Exoskeleton, yet he could go a few rounds with you. You know, I saw a saying online: It's been proven that the physical constitution of a Soviet is on the same level as an American wearing an Iron Man Suit."

"Are you serious?"

"I'm joking, but a special booth is good. I just happen to need to promote a new City Management System. I'll take it."

The exposure at the Stark Expo was quite high, providing a good opportunity to legitimize the promotion of ctOS.

As for Anton Vanko and Hammer Industries, Harry planned to take action against Hammer Industries after the incident and poach their Aerospace Technology Department.

While dealing with Anton Vanko, he could also use Lening to steal some more technology. This former Soviet Union citizen was also a talent, but Harry was destined to be unable to recruit him; he had too many ideas of his own.

Hanging up the phone, Harry headed straight for the laboratory.

Since Tony had already obtained the new element, Harry naturally couldn't fall behind.

In the movie, Tony used a wrench to manually assemble the facility for creating the new element. Harry, of course, wouldn't use a wrench to build a particle accelerator, but he had Dr. Otto.

Harry called Dr. Otto, and Dr. Otto's image was patched into the room.

"Hello, Harry."

"Good afternoon, Dr. How are things over in Washington?" Harry greeted him and asked about the situation in Washington.

"Everything is normal. The reactor's trial run is going well; there's no need to watch it every second. Compared to staying here, I'd rather go back to New York to participate in this experiment."

As a scientific genius, Dr. Otto also had an almost fanatical love for scientific invention, and the regret in his tone was heartfelt.

"So we should thank science even more for allowing us to conduct the same experiment from thousands of miles apart and witness the birth of a new element together."

The two looked at each other and smiled.

"Then let's begin."

Harry pulled back the curtain covering the particle accelerator.

The particle accelerator was designed jointly by Harry and Otto.

Particles would be magnetically accelerated to a terrifying speed lap after lap in the accelerator, gaining enough energy to finally be refracted through a prism into the palladium element at the center of the accelerator.

A brand-new element would be produced under the bombardment.

This sounds far-fetched—because generally speaking, if it's a new element, it shouldn't be on the periodic table, meaning it should have a higher atomic number. And the higher the atomic number, the more unstable the element. Even the synthetic elements at the end of the periodic table can only exist for a very short time.

Not to mention, if using known scientific research as a reference, the energy of the particle stream wouldn't reach the energy normally required to create a new element.

But in this Universe, it's reasonable because this element is a new element discovered by Tony's father, Howard Stark, based on his research on the Tesseract.

This element is actually related to the Tesseract, which is the Space Stone.

Simply put, science fiction.

"Start the accelerator," Harry said as he pressed the start button.

The particles in the accelerator gradually emitted a dazzling blue light, endowed with immense energy under the acceleration of the magnetic field.

After being accelerated to a sufficient speed, the prism in the channel began to rotate—

The particle stream, which looked like a blue laser, was moved bit by bit toward the palladium element at the very center—

Hum—

The triangular palladium element finally underwent a qualitative transformation under the bombardment of the particle stream, emitting a dazzling blue light!

A perfect replica of Tony's experiment—after all, this was originally taught by Tony.

"We succeeded, Dr."

Harry clapped his hands and turned off the power.

Dr. Otto on the other side of the video was already stunned. Especially as the room darkened and that shining triangular symbol remained undiminished in brightness, his expression became increasingly shocked.

"A brand-new element... we discovered a brand-new element! Damn! Harry, you're so lucky. I must return to New York immediately; I can't wait to perform new experiments on it!"

Through the video, one could see the red-faced Dr. Otto jumping for joy in the room.

Harry just smiled without saying a word.

"Harry, you must let me go back right away. Damn, I'm just too curious. How can it be so stable? How much potential does it have?"

"Don't worry, Dr. This new element will stay here. It's safe, just waiting for you to return and conduct various experiments on it."

"Damn, I have to go urge the construction crew."

Harry shrugged. It seemed the American workers were also going to experience the pain of rushing a deadline.

Hopefully, they wouldn't go on strike; otherwise, Dr. Otto's dream of returning to New York would be shattered.

Putting the new element into the safe, Harry left the underground Base.

Aiden had opened a small shop not far away; he would keep an eye on this area.

Although his combat power wasn't as fierce as Frank's, Aiden was a master of social engineering and a veteran hacker, making him the most suitable person for confidentiality missions.

"This thing is very important. Keep a good eye on it."

"Guarding a physical object is much simpler than guarding a secret. But what exactly is being researched here?"

"The future, Aiden. You are guarding the future." Patting Aiden's shoulder, Harry continued, "Why don't I call you the Future Guardian from now on?"

Aiden gave Harry a look and returned to his post.
