Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: This is America!

"Before we land, I want to know what you threw over there," Tony asked.

"Something to enhance the explosive yield."

"What?" Tony was stunned.

The small device contained Deuterium and Tritium. After research by Norman and Harry, this thing could convert an atomic bomb with sufficient yield into a Three-phase bomb.

But the truth should remain a secret; otherwise, someone would surely chase after Osborn asking: Why are you researching nuclear weapons?

The key was that Harry's motivation was indeed hard to explain, unlike Norman, for whom it was purely out of interest.

Back on the ground, Tony received a call back from Pepper: "Uh, Pepper? I just wanted to call you, but the signal on the other side wasn't great... everything's fine, completely no problem, okay?"

After hanging up, Tony said to Harry: "So, where's your girlfriend? Isn't she calling you?"

"She's working," Harry shrugged.

"Ever had Shawarma? There's a place about two blocks away. You can bring your friends, I'll bring mine, and we can bond a bit. After all, we're brothers-in-arms now."

Tony talked incessantly to everyone after being put on the ground, while the serious Captain America wore a helpless expression.

"Shawarma sounds good, but things aren't over yet." Harry pointed at Stark Tower.

Loki needed to be captured, Norman needed to issue a public statement immediately, and Harry—Harry had to intercept the loot.

After Loki was captured, the Avengers went to eat Shawarma or organize search and rescue as needed. Dr. Otto and Selvig immediately started an academic discussion on the roof of Stark Tower. Tony graciously left his house to the two doctors for their discussion.

Peter stood next to the two doctors, shaking his head as if listening to a foreign language.

The scene was very harmonious.

But Harry knew that a divine artifact would go missing after the battle.

Landing on the top floor of Stark Tower, Harry stretched his muscles; he was going to take an elevator.

Super hearing allowed him to hear the people inside making a phone call.

"Evidence obtained, proceeding to meet with Dr. List." The bald Agent Sitwell was on the phone with his superior, Alexander Pierce.

"No obstacles, Mr. Secretary-General."

Ding.

Just as he finished speaking, the elevator stopped. The person outside was Harry Osborn.

Harry walked straight into the elevator.

"Mr. Osborn? I thought you went—"

Harry was very heavy; the moment he stepped onto the elevator, the whole thing shook.

"Change of plans." Suppressing a smile, Harry stood in the middle of the Agents, forcing a serious face.

Compared to the tension they would feel if Captain America stood among them, they were more confused by Harry standing there.

This billionaire has a Flyer he doesn't use, a company he doesn't manage, and he comes to squeeze into an elevator with us?

"That Mind Stone, I've reached an agreement with Secretary-General Pierce. I'm taking over the scepter." Harry said.

Sitwell was dazed and turned around: "I don't understand, sir. That's impossible."

Several HYDRA members put their hands on their gun holsters.

"Trust me, it's safest with me. The Secretary-General told me someone might come to steal this thing."

While speaking, Harry used his psionic ability. He wanted to make these people inclined to believe him. Although Harry usually found it hard to directly influence others, it had some effect when the target was under great shock.

Just as Rumlow was about to say something, Harry leaned into Sitwell's ear.

"Hail HYDRA."

After handing over the Mind Stone, Sitwell kept thinking: There was a time when HYDRA indeed launched an operation against Osborn's ctOS, and after that, the superiors requested cooperation with Osborn to promote ctOS.

From this perspective, Osborn could indeed be one of them; that was the first thing they thought of.

But later, Osborn was pressured by various giants, and the superiors seemed to have adopted a wait-and-see attitude...

Especially that operation to demand the Abomination; Harry Osborn didn't show a cooperative attitude then, did he?

The more they thought about it, the more something felt wrong. With the intention of reporting to Alexander Pierce, he took out his phone.

But at that moment, intense electromagnetic interference filled the entire corridor. Frank and his team threw smoke grenades.

"Under attack! We are at—" Sitwell wanted to send a message, but the electronic equipment on him had become scrap metal.

Frank, with enhanced senses and wearing a Super Soldier suit, was almost a Captain America, and his brothers-in-arms were low-spec versions of Captain America. Several soldiers simultaneously turned into demons in the smoke, and the HYDRA strike team was instantly tied up and taken away by several differently-configured Captain Americas.

Poor Sitwell, the moment he closed his eyes, he was still thinking:

Osborn really is a member of HYDRA. The Secretary-General is indeed all-knowing; someone really did come to snatch the item!

Unfortunately, we were still one step ahead. With the Osborn Group on HYDRA's side, things are truly secure.

On the other side, the moment he walked out of the elevator, Harry almost burst out laughing.

"Agent Fury, are you still there? Do you see how ridiculous this is now?"

What to do after stealing HYDRA's stuff? The Captain America who traveled back would travel back eventually, but Harry couldn't.

Although Harry's power was growing daily, he needed an ally to deal with HYDRA.

So, the entire process just now was live-streamed by Harry to Nick.

This absurd and ridiculous moment left Nick Fury, the King of Spies, speechless.

"My people will take these unlucky bastards away. I don't need to teach you what to do next, right? And don't forget what we agreed on."

Nick's brain was already in a daze.

When Harry said he would live-stream for him, he didn't know what it meant, but as Harry's actions became more and more outrageous, his mouth opened wider and wider.

"They aren't the unlucky ones; I'm the unlucky one, plus a fool," Nick said.

Neither of them mentioned the Mind Stone, tacitly agreeing to leave it in Harry's custody.

The moles Harry exposed weren't just one or two, but an entire team. That meant the number of HYDRA moles within S.H.I.E.L.D. might be far more than Nick imagined.

Nick had just been suspended, and then this happened; he had a massive headache.

But being suspended had its benefits: Alexander wouldn't suspect Nick was involved in the disappearance of the scepter. After all, Nick's bank card password had been seen through by him, and Nick's Agents were even more so.

Currently, Nick had almost no one available to use. Taking the Mind Stone silently was simply nonsense.

So Alexander would still transfer Nick back to investigate this matter.

And Nick, of course, would drag this out as long as possible, investigating the interior of S.H.I.E.L.D. under the guise of investigating the scepter, dragging it out for as long as he could.

It could be called a spy within a spy.

Having swindled the gem away, Harry's part of the business was over. On the other side, Tony was about to leave with Thor.

Thor intended to take Loki and the Tesseract back to Asgard to face Odin's judgment, but clearly, someone didn't think so.

Alexander Pierce personally approached Thor, demanding that Loki be handed over to them.

"Loki cannot be taken away; this mortal must be handed over to me. I don't care what Odin wants, and that case must be given to me as well." Alexander bluntly demanded that Thor leave Loki behind; not only that, he even wanted the Tesseract.

"I'm not sure that's the best idea," Tony said, glancing at Thor and pulling the case back slightly.

The Agent beside Alexander was about to reach out and snatch the case when another voice rang out.

"No, no, no, Mr. Secretary-General. I hope you haven't forgotten that this is the State of New York, United States of America. As the culprit behind all this, Loki must first be accountable to the American people and the State of New York."

Norman walked in, having already changed back into his formal suit.

"Pardon me, but what did you say?" Alexander turned around, looked at the solitary Norman, and said, "Governor Norman, I must remind you that according to Chapters VI and VII of the United Nations Charter..."

Before he could finish, Norman interrupted him.

"...can investigate any dispute or situation which might lead to international friction and make recommendations, and can take military measures if necessary. You're right. So, do you intend to take military measures here?"

Although Norman didn't bring anyone in with him, as his words fell, the power armors on the street all turned around, their machine guns aimed at these S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents.

"I'll say it again: this is the State of New York, United States of America. If you plan to take military measures here, you might have the wrong place."

Alexander and his men froze.
