Ryanne was a whole mystery book on its own to uncover her, she has to open up on her own.
Their English teacher, Perry Anderson stepped into the class. The class was back in order.
Perry Anderson was the favorite teacher of Class E followed by Miss Julia House, their Language Arts teacher.
With a bright smile on his lips, his charm filled the class as he began to speak.
Mr. Perry:" Hi class. Nice meeting you once more. In our last meeting, I made mention of something interesting. Someone should remind us. Whose talking?"
Kersia:" We're gonna have a drama!"
Mr. Perry:" Exactly. Our drama is based on a novel written by a famous writer called William Shakespeare. Someone guess the drama or novel?"
Bob:" Romeo and Juliet?"
Mr. Perry:" Nailed it! So now we need our characters. We need Romeo, Juliet... Priest.
Bianca:" I'm up for Juliet!"
Zen:" Go for it Bianky!"
Yvonne:" I'll play as Juliet's maid."
Dixon:" I'll be the priest."
Alex:" Ashton will go for Romeo."
Jim:" Yh, go for it!"
Ray:" Ashton, go for Romeo, suits you."
Mr. Perry:" Ashton, what do you say?"
Ashton;" Well, do I even have a choice?"
Alex:" That's the spirit, bro . I'm up for Romeo's best buddy."
After the character selections, Mr. Perry shared the scripts to the various characters.
Mr. Perry:" Guys, please do your best to memorize your scripts and lines carefully. Be mindful of your tone, expressions and gestures. We will be meeting on every Tuesday and Thursday in the auditorium to rehearse. In a month's time, the play would be showcased in front of the whole school. All the best."
The lesson continued till it was break.
At break, Ashton went to sit beside Ryanne.
Ashton:"Hey, Ryanne. When is your next contest?"
As usual, she was with her book.
Ashton:"Ryanne, don't tell me you're ignoring me again. Seeing she wasn't ready to respond, he took a candy out of his pocket and placed it in his mouth while scrolling on his phone.
After replying a few texts, he turned to realize she was looking at him. He realized he was roo busy that he didn't realize.
His heart skipped a beat on the spot.
Ashton gave her a questioning look.
Ryanne:"I love candies and you're eating just my flavor"
Ashton was taken back
"Is this really happening on Earth?"he asked himself." Down to Earth, Ashton ", he muttered to himself.
He cleared his throat, placing his hand in the pocket of his jacket.
Ashton:" Here you go"
He opened her palm and placed a candy in it.
She unwrapped it and placed it in her mouth.
Unaware, her lips curved in a smile.
Ashton was stunned," She can smile?", he asked himself.
Ashton:" I can give you candy everyday if you like"
Ryanne's smile instantly disappeared.
Ryanne:" I never asked."
Ashton:" Just thought you would like it. Didn't expect such a quick rejection"
Ryanne snorted.
Ryanne:" I hate that idea. Everyday, every break, I'll be expecting it"
She went back to her book.
Ashton was wondering what authority she had to give him such commands
Ashton:" Alright"
He also went back to his phone.
.... Break over...
He got back to his seat once it was break over but handed her the last candy he had before leaving.
Alex nudged him by the shoulder and whispered," Going well, huh?"
Ashton replied him with a bright smile and a wink.
"Yes", Alex jerked his arm in the air with a surge of excitement .
Stony Hills stepped into the class for Additional Mathematics.
School closes...
Bianca approached Ashton just when he was about to leave the class.
Ashton:" Hi!"
Bianca:" Hey!"
Ashton:" Anything?"
Bianca:" Hmmm.... Nothing special. Just wanna ask if you'd like to learn the scripts with me?"
Ashton:" Oh that. Actually, I've got something to do at the moment. Maybe another time. Bye."
Ashton didn't even wait to listen to her reply before walking pass her.
He went to his locker to pick up his phone which he placed in his locker before heading for Physical Education class.
He was heading out of the building when he spotted Ryanne arranging her stuffs in her locker.
He walked towards her without hesitation.
Propped to the locker next to hers with his hands tucked into his pocket, he asked
Ashton:" So when is your next challenge?"
Ryanne:" I don't have a challenge."
Ashton:" Should I register you for another one?"
Ryanne:" When did you become a part of my affairs? Huh?"
Ashton:" Never mind. Just came to ask if you'd be free this weekend."
Ryanne:" No thanks. I'm occupied."
She slammed her locker door after replying him and walked away.
