Chapter 3 - United Countries' Heliocentric Academy of Research and Magic(UCHARM)

The United Countries' Heliocentric Academy of Research and Magic (UCAHRM) are a tuition-free, United Countries sponsored magical liberal arts research university college where students aged 14-20 are trained in both academics and magic located in Siberia and opened in the year 2000. Rumors said it is a high school because it admits students aged 14-18. 1st Jan is orientation day for new students and December 31st is the graduation day. Intake is solely in January. Admission to UCHARM is very harsh and meritocratic, where applicants have to display extraordinary academic achievement and excellent extra-curricular records, else they have to write an identity essay that tells them who they are and why do they want to attend UCHARM. The Academy students do not wear uniforms. Its funds are filled by taxes collected by the United Countries' Development Bank. There is no pre-school in the planet Gaia, but all kids in started primary school in United Countries affiliated countries at the age of 4, where kids do not have exams every year, not even a single end of primary school exam, and they leave with basic literacy and numeracy skills at the age of 9, when their preadolescence started and prepared for adolescence in secondary school, where puberty started at age 10 for both genders equally. Alongside physical and behavioral changes, their magical and superpower sources develop naturally that heighten their intellectual and supernatural capabilities, so secondary school classes will have classes to train students to control their powers. By the time they reach adolescence at the age of 14, they have learned a lot of etiquette, ethics, rhetoric, logic, health, human development and sexuality, which enables them to respect each other regardless of gender, race and religion.

1st year - Theurgy: Study of theoretical magical effects. This is not stage magic; any magic is treated as a performance art shall face the worst consequences imagined.

The eight effects of powers:

Production: Produces something from nothing.

Vanish: Makes something disappear. A vanish, being the reverse of a production, may use a similar technique in reverse.

Transfiguration: Transforms something from one state into another

Transposition: A transposition involves two or more objects which will cause these objects to change places, as many times as pleased, and in some cases, ends with a kicker by transforming the objects into something else.

Teleportation: The magician causes something to move from one place to another When two objects exchange places, it is called a transposition: a simultaneous, double transportation. A teleportation can be seen as a combination of a vanish and a production.

Escape: Placed in a restraining device or a death trap, and escapes to safety.

Levitation: Defies gravity by making something float in the air or with the aid of another object known as suspension

Penetration: Solid objects pass through another. Sometimes referred to as "solid-through-solid".

Prediction: Choice of the outcome of an event under seemingly impossible circumstances.
