Chapter 45 - Chapter 41: Ample Resources, Let's Build

Blue Lavender Manor, Family Head's reception room.

Stevan looked up and glanced at Duke, his words filled with disdain and displeasure. His plan was about to unfold; once successful, he would be immortal and forever young.

He would break free from this broken body, and everything in the World would be within his grasp!

But at this critical juncture, Duke appeared as a flaw.

What did his sister mean?

Did she think he was old?

Did she think he was a burden?

Unwilling, extremely unwilling!!!

Stevan clutched the armrest of his wheelchair and snorted heavily. He flicked a small lever on the wheelchair, and the gentle movement activated small gears, which in turn engaged larger gears.

The clockwork power device pushed the wheelchair, and him sitting in it, slowly moving towards the door.

"Boy, are the eyes on your head just for show?"

Stevan came in front of Duke. Duke stared at the old man before him; under the silk scarf, age spots had quietly crept up his neck.

He was too old!

So old and frail that he looked like he was about to die!

"Of course not, sir." Duke bowed slightly, stepping aside to make way. Stevan snorted, lifted his head slightly, and, riding his clockwork power wheelchair, left the reception room.

Duke watched the old man's departing back, pondering deeply. This old fellow was about to lose control. Although it was the Arcane Worldline, the outcome would be the same.

He was seeking death!

"I'm sorry, Duke." Dak'er came to Duke's side and said softly: "Grandpa isn't usually like this; perhaps he's in a bad mood today."

"It's nothing." Duke put his hands into the pockets of his trench coat and said to Dak'er with a smile: "He's an old man, so it's only right to give way to him!"

"After all, there isn't much time left."

Duke, speaking with a hidden meaning, looked at Camille, then leisurely walked to her side, pulled up a chair, and sat on the other side of the tea table.

"Is there anything you need me to do?"

Camille's eyes were fixed on the bubbling, transparent kettle, and without turning her head, she said, "The greatest help you can give me right now is to complete your research!"

"You're willing to give everything for your research, aren't you?"

"Of course, I assure you, my work will bring new changes to the Ferros Family and to all of Piltover!"

Duke's hands emerged from his pockets, his eyes gleaming with intense light, and at this moment, Camille finally shifted her gaze to Duke's face.

The young man before her exuded the same enthusiasm and passion as that person from sixty years ago.

But Duke was different from him; he had fallen in love with his own creation.

"Go forth and do it with confidence, Duke!"

Camille looked back at the kettle, "The Ferros Family will be your strong backing!"

"As you wish, Madame!"

Duke strode out, and seeing this, Dak'er also nodded to Camille, hurrying after her convenient uncle. Camille picked up the kettle and looked at the exquisite teacup in front of her.

After a moment of hesitation, she finally put down the kettle and looked towards the doorway.

"The Water temperature is a bit too hot!"

"But Stevan, your actions must not go too far!"

"I don't want to reach that point!"

....

Eight days later.

Inside a private laboratory in the Ferros Family.

Duke, dressed in a work uniform, had his tool belt around his waist, filled with tools for his work: hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, electric drills—everything you could think of, he had on his belt.

With his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, Duke was reading a book. On the workbench beside him, gleaming rune steel was neatly stacked, looking like silver ingots.

There were thirty pieces in total.

As for Demacia's special Petricite, it was shaped like bricks and neatly arranged on one side of the rune steel, appearing entirely White, like plaster blocks.

In addition, the table was also covered with some scaled-down motorcycle models and robot models, as well as a full barrel of holy silver, which was the metal Vayne used to temper her crossbow bolts, possessing anti-magic properties.

"The theory is pretty much understood, so it's time for practical application!"
