Chapter 204 Cough Cough, It's Spring

"Woof woof!"
"Someone is knocking at the door, go check it out!"
Meng Ci was lying on the sofa, playing a game leisurely, while Shen Que was working out with two dumbbells. Meng Ci commanded Shen Que without any psychological burden.
Hearing Meng Ci's order, Shen Que obediently got up to open the door.
Hearing Qiezi bark, Meng Ci knew the visitor was someone unfamiliar to Qiezi. He then got up and stuffed his phone, an apple on the table, grapes, chips, and bottled water into his space.
Seeing various wrappers in the trash can, Meng Ci also shoved the entire trash can into his space.
After making sure there was nothing suspicious in the room, Meng Ci felt relieved. However, seeing that Shen Que hadn't come back for a while, and fearing something might have happened to him, Meng Ci took a long knife from his space behind his back and opened the villa door to walk outside.
As soon as he came out, he saw the yard gate was half-open, and Shen Que's body was blocking Meng Ci's view of the outside.
"Shen Que, who is knocking at the door?"
As Meng Ci spoke, he showed the knife in his hand and then walked forward casually.
"It's Lieutenant Lu!" Shen Que was about to move aside but, seeing the knife in Meng Ci's hand, he didn't make a move.
Hearing this, Meng Ci put the knife back into his space and only moved aside after Shen Que had done so.
"Lieutenant Lu!" Meng Ci walked out and greeted Lu Chen.
Lu Chen was wearing an army green short-sleeve shirt, leaning casually against a jeep. His skin was dark, and the muscles on his arms were well-developed.
"Comrade Meng!"
Lu Chen straightened his body, and his eyes lit up when he saw Qiezi behind Meng Ci!
Qiezi could still remember Lu Chen and thus circled around him again and again.
Meng Ci raised an eyebrow, wondering what was going on with Qiezi today, as it was circling him and even pressing its nose against Lu Chen's pants, sniffing non-stop.
"Comrade Meng, I'm here today because I need to ask for a favor!" As a soldier, Lu Chen preferred speaking directly and disliked beating around the bush.
"Go ahead!" Meng Ci said.

Meng Ci thought about how Qiezi had been howling at night recently and marking the yard with urine and droppings, sometimes even exposing itself.
"Meng Ci, Shen Que, do you agree to this?"
"Don't worry, I won't let it suffer in vain."
"If the mating is successful, I guarantee one thousand points for each puppy."
"Alright!" Meng Ci agreed.
Meng Ci had once considered neutering Qiezi, but he had never found a veterinarian, nor had he found another female wolf. Since Qiezi was willing to try with the military dog, he decided to give it a try.
"But if the mating is successful, you must give me one of the puppies," Meng Ci made a request.
Hearing this request, Lü Chen hesitated.
There were already very few military dogs in the military, and he had originally planned to breed more through this mating.
Now, hearing Meng Ci's request, he felt reluctant.
Seeing Lü Chen's hesitation, Meng Ci said directly, "If Captain Lü doesn't agree, then we're done!"
Actually, Meng Ci wanted a puppy to keep Qiezi company so that Qiezi wouldn't be lonely.
"Or, if you have any retired military dogs, you could give me one of them," Meng Ci suggested.
Hearing this, Lü Chen's eyes lit up.
"We do have a retired female dog. If you want her, I can give her to you."
The female dog had been injured while going out to eliminate troublesome nomads. Although she had been treated, she now limps and has several knife wounds. She was no longer fit for battle.
Initially, they planned to keep her at the base for her retirement.
Now, seeing Qiezi with its shiny coat and bright eyes, much healthier than their military dogs, Lü Chen thought that perhaps keeping the female dog with Meng Ci would allow her to live out her remaining years in peace.
"Alright!"
Meng Ci had a space where the water could heal wounds. Qiezi's head injury had healed without a scar after being soaked in the water. Perhaps the same could happen for the female dog.
"But if you give her to me, she's mine. You can't ask for her back," Meng Ci was worried that once the dog was healed, Lü Chen might want her back.
Lü Chen assured, "Once I give her to you, I won't ask for her back."
"Alright!" Meng Ci nodded.
Then Lü Chen suggested that since today was as good a day as any, they should head to the military district to see if Qiezi could mate with the military dog.
Meng Ci agreed but voiced a question that had been on his mind.
How did Lü Chen find them?
Before explaining, Lü Chen apologized to both of them.
He then explained that he had gone to the points redemption center and retrieved information on Meng Ci and Shen Que.
The points card issued by the redemption center contained detailed records of their residence at the West Mountain Wild Base, including what they had bought and exchanged.
Hearing this, Meng Ci felt relieved.
Luckily, the two of them, to avoid arousing suspicion, would go to the exchange station every few days to exchange for water and supplies. Additionally, every couple of weeks or so, they would also exchange for a few liters of cooking oil, and sometimes even exchange for some meat for Qiezi to eat.
Therefore, when Lü Chen saw that Qiezi was well-fed, he didn't find it odd.
Lü Chen hadn't cared much about what the two had exchanged for in the base anyway. Only when he heard from the staff that they had hunted crocodiles, tigers, birds, and other animals was he taken aback.
Seeing that the two were doing well, he had no doubts.
Initially, Lü Chen had invited the two to ride in his car, but Shen Que directly opened the nearby roller door and uncovered a car.
Lü Chen, being a man, was also knowledgeable about cars and could easily tell that the car was special. If the situation permitted, he would have loved to take it for a spin.
