Chapter 6: - Mt. Moon
With the Boulder Badge in her possession Lyra was excited to get her second badge.
Right now, she was looking at her Virtual Map that Dexter bought up on her Xtransceiver, Lyra and Misty both explained to Brock what it was and what it can do, Brock thought it was amazing to have a device like that.
"Hey guys it says that we have to pass through Mt. Moon to get to the next city." Lyra said to Misty and Brock.
"Mt. Moon? That sounds romantic." Misty said dreamily, making Lyra sweat dropped.
"I heard of that place." Brock said, "People say that a long time ago a meteor crashed into that mountain."
"Really?" Misty asked, "Is that true?"
"I'm not sure," Brock answered, "but the meteor is called the Moonstone."
"I've heard of the Moon stone." Lyra said, "It makes Clefairy evolve into Clefable and Jigglypuff into Wigglytuff."
"So, the Moon stone is an Evolution Stone?" Misty asked.
"Yes, it is Misty, it's part of the Evolution Stone since it makes Pokémon evolved."
Just then a scream was heard in the distance. "What was that?" Lyra gasped.
Pichu woke up from her sleep and Pikachu looked around.
"It sounds like someone is in trouble." Brock said, "We better get it out." They all ran to the source of the screaming, a man was being attacked by, a bunch of blue bat-like Pokémon.
Zubat, the Bat Pokémon.
It checks its surroundings and location using reflections of ultrasonic waves from its mouth.
"That guy is in trouble." Lyra said, "Quick Pichu and Pikachu use Thunder shock!" Pichu and Pikachu launched an electric attack and electricity made all the wild Zubat leave in a real hurry.
"Oh, thank you so much," the man thanked, who dressed like a scientist lab coat, "Those Zubat's were crazy. I'm Seimour a Scientist and Researcher.
"I'm Lyra and this is my partners and friends Pichu and Pikachu." She greeted.
"Pichu!" "Pika!" They both wave.
"I'm Brock."
"I'm Misty." She said, "So what happened? And why did those Zubat attack you?" Misty asked.
"Well, you see it's because of this." Seimour said pointing at the cave. Inside the cave there were lots of light hanging on the walls of the rock, "These lights are the reason why." He explained.
"It doesn't surprise me really." Brock said, "Zubat don't like the light very much."
"And it's not just the Zubat that the lights cause trouble for." Seimour said, "Its making trouble for all the Pokémon. Paras are planting their mushrooms everywhere and are drying up the Sandshrew."
Lyra looked at Sandshrew and it doesn't look good at all. One Sandshrew was so thirsty it was panting like crazy, Lyra felt sorry for it and took out her water canteen. "Here you go little guy drink this." She said holding her canteen to Sandshrew. Sandshrew looked at Lyra for a few second then accepted the water, Misty and Brock smiled at their friend's kindness.
"You're a nice girl." Seimour said with a smile, "The reason why I'm here is because to protect Mt. Moon from trouble makers."
"What are the trouble markers doing?" Misty asked.
"Because of the Moon stone." Seimour explained, "Since the meteor is millions of years old and is said to process special powers, they make want to take it for themselves."
"That's horrible." Lyra frown.
"I agree with that." Misty said.
Suddenly Brock saw a pink Pokémon hopping around. "Hey look, it's a Clefairy." Brock said.
"Ah, it's so cute." Misty said in cooing.
Lyra noticed the Clefairy was holding something. "Hey, that's a Moon stone its holding." She pointed to the small stone in the fairy Pokémon hand.
"Your right." Seimour said, "I know if we follow that Clefairy it might lead us to the Meteorite."
Lyra, Misty and Brock thought that was a great idea and they all went to follow the Clefairy and the Sandshrew decide to follow too, it didn't want to leave Lyra.
When following Clefairy; they noticed more and more lights. "These lights must be all over Mt. Moon." Lyra said.
"Whoever doing this is causing a lot of trouble." Misty said.
"Did I hear the word trouble?" A woman voice spoke out and Lyra knew that she heard that voice before.
"If you want trouble well give it to you." A man's voice spoke out and Lyra definitely along with her Pichu and Pikachu that they heard it somewhere before.
"Prepare for trouble, "the reddish and pinkish hair woman said.
"And make it double," the blue haired man continued.
"To protect the world from devastation,"
"To unite all people within our nation,"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love,"
"To extend our to the stars above,"
"Jessie,"
"James,"
"Team Rocket blasting of the speed of light,"
"Surrender now and prepare to fight,"
"Meowth that's right." Meowth said landing in front is Jessie and James.
Clefairy hid behind Lyra in fright. "Ah! I remember you three." Lyra said, "You are Team Rocket that we meet back at Viridian City."
"We haven't forgotten about you twerp." Jessie said, "But we have no time for you."
"That's right." Meowth said. "We're here for the Moon stone."
"So, you three are the ones who put up all these lights?" Brock asked.
"Of course," James said, "we need lights to find the Moonstone."
"You crooks!" Seimour shouted, "The lights are confusing all the Pokémon."
"What a shame." Jessie said with a smirk, "That's too bad."
"You won't get away with this!" Brock shouted, "If it's a rock you want, just take these and get lost!"
"Get lost? How rude!" Jessie shouted, "You twerps need to be taught some manners."
Jessie and James both release Ekans and Koffing from their PokéBalls.
"If it's a battle you want, we'll give you one." Lyra said as she got a PokéBall ready, "Infernape I choose you!"
"Infernape!" Her female fire monkey goes ready to fight.
"Go Zubat!" Brock said. Lyra was surprised that Brock had caught a Zubat. "I caught it before we entered the cave." He explained.
Lyra told Misty, Pichu and Pikachu to go with Seimour and Clefairy to escape and protect Clefairy. She also told Sandshrew to do the same. Lyra Pokémon nodded along with Misty and Seimour, they ran off with Clefairy and Sandshrew.
"Alright Koffing use Smog attack!" James shouted. Koffing started to blow gas out of its mouth.
"Quick Zubat use Double Team and Wing Attack to blow the smog away." Brock said, the double team and wing attack worked and the gas spray floated back to Team Rocket side.
"Ekans use Bite on those Pokémon." Jessie said.
"Ouch, but no. Infernape use Mach Punch." Lyra said, Infernape fist glowered and hit Ekans with incredible speed back into Koffing.
Brock was in shock how fast the attack was, clearly, it's a high-level Pokémon already.
"Now Zubat use Supersonic." Brock said.
Ekans and Koffing became confused because of Zubat's attack and began fighting each other, Team Rocket was not happy at all with that.
Lyra giggle, "Infernape use Fire Spin to blast them out of here." She said, as Infernape use fire spin the flame hit Team Rocket and the Pokémon, it blew them away instantly.
"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" Jessie and James shouted.
Brock and Lyra were about to celebrate their victory; when they noticed something. "Wait I just notice Meowth wasn't with them." Lyra said.
"Yeah, so did I." Brock said, "We better find Misty and Seimour right away."
Meanwhile Misty and Seimour were chasing Clefairy, who was jumping like mental. "Please slow down." Misty said, "We can't keep up with you."
Just then Meowth popped out in front of Clefairy. "There you are." Meowth said, "Now be a nice Clefairy and give me the Moonstone." Clefairy quivered in fear.
"Leave that Clefairy alone!" Seimour shouted.
"Not a chance." Meowth said as he took out its claw, "Face my Scratch attack."
"Not so fast Meowth!" Misty shouted. She sent out her Finneon. "Finneon use Silver Wind to blast Meowth away." Finneon tail fins glowered and it released a Silver Wind and it blew Meowth away.
"Hey! Is everyone okay?" Lyra asked, who just arrived at the scene with Brock.
"Yep, everything is okay Finneon blew Meowth away with Silver Wind." Misty said and Brock looked at the Water Pokémon in interest never seeing it before.
"I must say, Ly Silver Wind is an amazing and beautiful move." Lyra chuckled at Misty.
"Right." Lyra smiled as Pichu and Pikachu hopped back into her shoulders with Sandshrew following happy to see Lyra, "I'm glad that you're all alright." She said, kneeling down to it and running its head. Clefairy watched Sandshrew bond with Lyra in interest. "Right Brock you never seen this Pokémon before, right?" She asked and he nodded. "It's a Finneon a Pokémon at lives in the Sinnoh Region same as my Infernape you saw early. But I caught it here in the Kanto Region Viridian Forest lake there was two of it, I have one and I gave the other one to Misty." Brock nodded.
When sunset came to the gang, Lyra release her all her Pokémon's; Pidgeotto, Gyarados, Butterfree, Beautifly, Finneon and Infernape to give them some Pokémon food. Brock and Seimour was amazed and shock that she had a Gyarados but it was gentle and beautiful especially with the color.
Lyra's Pokémon because they all were different and unusual, also from different region Pokémon.
Then Brock realizes something, "Hey Lyra." He called her and she looked at him, "Why do you have more than 6 Pokémon on you, I thought that all starting trainers are supposed to have only 6 to carry?" He asked.
Lyra thought about it while eating some food, "I'm the only one that Professor Oak gave permission to carry 10 Pokémon as a starting trainer actually." She answered and Misty, Brock and Seimour was shocked to hear that she can actually carry 10 Pokémon on her.
"Well, you see I already had Pichu and Infernape with me to begin with, then Pikachu came along so I can only keep 3 Pokémon on me in PokéBall at a time. But Professor Oak my supervisor gave me permission to carry 10 with me because of my bonding with Pokémon at a young age and he knows that I will that take care of all Pokémon I have on me properly. It's quite easily to take care of a lot of Pokémon if you been working at his Pokémon Ranch at the age of 6 for fun." Lyra explain and they were amazed how she was able to get permission to carry that many Pokémon with her but they knew that she took care of them equally seeing how strong and powerful they all are.
"Oh yeah," Lyra said suddenly, they all look at her, "He also said that it could increase depending how I go." They mouth dropped wide open. Then she saw what Brock was holding and feeding Zubat, "Hey Brock what are you feeding Zubat?" She asked.
"Huh?" Brock snapped out it, "Oh, this is Pokémon food I made from my own recipe." He explains.
Lyra nodded and she took some and gave it to her Pokémon who like it, "Do you mind teaching me how to make Pokémon food?" She asked Brock.
"Of course." Brock replied, "I'll start teaching you when we reach the next city."
"Thanks Brock."
Sandshrew and Clefairy were speaking to each other in Poké Language, Sandshrew said that it decides to go with Lyra. Clefairy stared at Lyra and decide it wanted to go with her as well.
Lyra, who been watching Sandshrew and Clefairy, she realized that she didn't get any information on them yet so she held our Xtransceiver.
Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokémon.
It dislikes water, they live in deep burrows in arid areas. It can roll itself instantly into a ball.
Clefairy, the Fairy Pokémon.
On nights with a full moon, Clefairy gather from all over and dance. bathing in Moonlight makes them float.
Just then Clefairy got up, it began to call out to everyone and begun to hopping into the cave. "I think that Clefairy wants us to follow it." Seimour said, so Lyra, Misty and Brock began to follow Clefairy and Sandshrew into the cave.
Clefairy led them to a crater of the cave. Sunset had become night time and a full moon was out, in the middle of the crater was a giant rock with lots of Clefairy around it.
"It's the Moon stone." Seimour said in awe, "And all the Clefairy have gathered around."
Just then the Clefairy put its Moon stone with the other small Moon stones. Once that piece was with the others, both the big and small Moonstones begun to glow and the Clefairy began to dance around the Moonstone in circle.
"I see," Lyra said, "Sandshrew just said that Clefairy pray to the Moonstone, so that some of them will evolve into a Clefable."
"So, the Moonstone is a giant Evolutionary Stone." Seimour said in amazement, "What a wonderful sight. I have always wanted to see this."
Just then an explosion came out from under the ground. "What just happened?" Seimour shouted.
Laughter was then heard, "Oh no, not them again." Lyra groaned.
"Thank you for helping us find the Moon stone." Jessie chuckled, "Now we will take it for ourselves."
"You can do that!" Seimour shouted.
"We can and we will." James said with a smirk.
More explosions set off and when the smoke clear the Moon stone was gone. "Oh no," Seimour said in sadness, "we must get the Moon stone back." He said in determination.
"Maybe that big hole will lead us to them." Brock said, "Let's go Onix!" Brock this Onix to lead the hole tunnel Team Rocket left behind, then the ground followed Onix, as well as the Clefairy and Sandshrew.
Team Rocket was sliding down the mountain on a sledge, the Moon stone tied to it.
They believed that they had succeeded, when suddenly Onix came out of the ground and stopped them.
"Hold it right their Team Rocket!" Lyra shouted, "You're not taking the Moon stone anywhere!"
Team Rocket was angry and was about to call out their pokemon when Clefairy turned up.
Clefairy was not happy that Team Rocket, they all lifted their arm up and waved them, "Clefairy, Clefairy, Clefairy...." They continued to wave their arms left and right.
"That's the attack called the Metronome," explained Seimour moving his head left and right following the Clefairy attack, "it makes Clefairy do an attack, but you can never tell what attack they will do."
The metronome became a hyper beam attack and sent Team Rocket blasting off again.
Everyone was happy that the Moon stone was safe at last. Just then chips from the giant Moon stone, which broke off during the attack, came falling out of the sky and landed on some of the Clefairy, the Clefairy, who the moonstone touched and began glowing and turned into Clefable.
"See," Lyra said pointed to the Clefable, "I told you that the Moonstone turns Clefairy into Clefable". Misty, Brock and Seimour agreed to that.

When next morning came Lyra, Brock and Misty decided it was now time to leave and Seimour had decided to stay at Mt. Moon to study the moon stone a bit more. "After last night," he said, "I feel like there is more I need to know."
Lyra, Brock and Misty understood that and bid farewell to him and the Clefairy and Clefable.
Lyra had just sent a video about the Clefairy and Clefable to Professor Oak and he was happy to study about them; he thanks Lyra for her help.
Just as they were about to leave Sandshrew and a Clefable walked up to Lyra she blinked at them, "What's wrong you two?" She asked them and they nuzzled her legs.
"I think these two want to go with you Lyra." Brock stated.
"Really?" Lyra asked, "You two want to come with me?" Sandshrew and Clefable nodded.
Lyra took out two PokéBalls and tapped them on Sandshrew and Clefable, three seconds later they were caught. "Wow I have two new Pokémon." Lyra said with a smile. She looked both her new Pokémon for more information.

"Wow those are pretty impressive moves that they know." Lyra said as she closes her X-Dexter and walked off.
Lyra, Brock and Misty were now walking along a path, when they saw a sign.
It read: Cerulean City.
"I can get my second badge there." Lyra said.
Then she noticed that something else was on the sign: Gary was here, Lyra is a loser.
"Oh really." said Lyra, "Well we'll see who the loser is at the Indigo League". Then she just walked calmly on, with Misty and Brock beside her.
