Mark turned and saw the face of Vino, his best friend from school, who was now wearing a thick jacket and had tired-looking bags under his eyes.
Although time had passed since their school days, the figure before him seemed unchanged. Vino still retained his warm and expressive demeanor, complete with a playful twinkle in his eyes that hinted the man was ready to crack one of his signature jokes to lighten the cold night.
"It's a small world, or maybe fate is just too lazy to find a new place to bring us together, Mark," said Vino.
Mark responded to the greeting with a broad, sincere smile, while the sparkle in his eyes couldn't hide his joy at this unexpected reunion.
"Fate is so lazy that it had to put you on this windy bridge just to stop you from always racing against time," Mark replied. "Judging by your thick jacket and tired face, it seems that the big project downtown has been taking up all your sleep lately."
