Mark jumped down from the truck's cab.
He ran quickly, pushing through the thick plumes of smoke billowing from the rows of car exhaust pipes roaring wildly amid the storm.
Mark's face relaxed slightly when he saw the people inside the vehicles begin to crawl out on their own without any life-threatening injuries.
However, the atmosphere around the front of the ambulance felt extremely tense and chaotic. Mass panic erupted in the form of frustrated shouts as drivers pointed fingers at one another, while two uniformed paramedics appeared trapped in the middle of a circle of people engaged in a heated argument, staring helplessly at the remnants of the hilly asphalt now completely blocked by the car bodies lying across the road.
The two medical personnel repeatedly glanced at their cell phone screens in panic, trying to contact the central hospital, but not a single signal bar appeared on their devices.
