It was already late at night. The wall clock in Kai's room showed 9:15 PM.
The room was only dimly lit by the desk lamp, the rest was dark.
Kai lay on his bed, his right hand under his head as a pillow while his eyes were half-closed. Today had been truly exhausting.
That morning, he'd still worked the morning shift at Midtown, wearing a polar bear costume that was as hot as hell. Chloe, who was usually so chatty, was absent again because of a "fever," so Kai had to hand out flyers alone while dealing with little kids who kept pulling on his costume.
In the afternoon, he stopped by Daisy's house for a bit, then saw Ame... a girl who looked like Mimi and was alone with Ren, that really weird male lead. Then finally he visited Chloe and went home.
Today... really was so busy. But at least tonight I can relax a little, Kai thought as he let out a soft sigh.
