Morning was still very early. The clock on Kai's bedroom wall showed 6:35 AM. The sunlight slowly crept through the gap in the slightly open curtains and softly lit up the room.
Kai stretched a little on his bed, his eyes half open. His body felt warm, not from a fever, but because something was pressed closely against his side.
Risa was still fast asleep. The girl was curled up on Kai's chest, her breathing steady and soft. Her hair was messy after they slept hugging each other last night. Kai reached out his right hand, gently stroking his sister's head. Risa's hair felt soft in his palm.
She really was like a clingy cat.
Kai smiled faintly. His left hand grabbed his phone from the nightstand. The screen lit up as he opened notifications. There was a message from Chloe.
