It was still very early in the morning, the sun had just risen over the eastern horizon of Miami, brushing golden light across the whole city as it began to pulse slowly.
Kai stood in front of the mirror in his room, straightening the collar of a plain black shirt he had picked after changing three times. Dark jeans, comfortable sneakers. A really simple look, but enough to not look like someone who had just woken up.
He let out a long breath, looking at his own reflection.
Finally, today is here.
His mind drifted back to yesterday, when that woman appeared again with that smile that always held hidden meaning, the daisy brooch in her palm, and the date invitation he couldn't just refuse.
Kai knew this wasn't an ordinary meeting because of everything that had happened. Reva never did anything without a reason.
