Chapter 28 - Da Hong: Fight Me? Then Your Kingdom Falls

[send power stones please]

The rhythmic sounds of violent impacts stopped.

High Town fell into dead silence.

Every noble living there had shut their doors tight, hiding inside their homes without daring to breathe too loudly.

A few of the bolder nobles had peeked out through their windows when the fighting first broke out in the streets.

At the time, they had only been curious—curious to see what kind of fool would dare stand before a Celestial Dragon without kneeling.

More than that, they had wanted to enjoy the spectacle.

After all, in their hearts, they all knew the same thing:

Forget failing to kneel—if you even looked directly at a Celestial Dragon, they had ten thousand excuses to have you killed.

But what none of them had expected was this—

Not only was the offender not executed on the spot, but the being they considered supreme, the so-called descendants of the gods—

Had been killed in the middle of the street.

That sight alone nearly made the nobles hidden inside their homes crack on the spot.

A Celestial Dragon dying in High Town of the Goa Kingdom meant that the fury of the World Government would soon descend upon what was called the most beautiful country in the East Blue.

The World Government might even respond with a Buster Call, wiping the Goa Kingdom off the map entirely.

From that point on, they no longer dared watch.

Because no one's life mattered more than that of a Celestial Dragon.

The instant Charloss's body hit the ground, they had already seen the outline of their own miserable futures.

On the Streets of High Town

Da Hong, still in his berserk state, had no intention of stopping.

After punching the last annoying person into the sky, he didn't care what lay ahead of him. He immediately dove toward a nearby villa and blew it apart with one bare fist.

Smoke billowed upward.

Without slowing down at all, he charged straight through the ruins.

Soon, another building appeared in front of him.

Da Hong didn't hesitate.

He drove forward and smashed it apart just as cleanly.

Again and again, the same thing happened.

Every building in his path was reduced to rubble beneath his fists.

More than ten mansions and noble residences collapsed one after another in a chain of thunderous explosions.

Then, after destroying the final estate in his way, a high wall suddenly came into view.

Inside it—

Was the royal palace of the Goa Kingdom.

Meanwhile — Garp Arrives

Because explosions kept erupting from High Town, Vice Admiral Garp—despite how deeply he despised the Celestial Dragons—didn't dare delay any longer.

Worried that the situation was escalating out of control, he led a group of Marines into High Town at top speed.

The moment he rushed into the street, he saw Saint Charloss lying dead in a pool of blood.

After confirming that his old eyes weren't deceiving him, and that the man lying there was indeed the same Celestial Dragon he had cursed as trash only moments earlier, even Garp's normally careless nerves instantly tightened.

He had never imagined that arriving just two or three minutes too late would be enough for everything to be completely settled.

Not only was Charloss dead in the street—

His bodyguards, attendants, and even the Goa Kingdom royal family had seemingly vanished into thin air.

The scale of the disaster had already gone far beyond anything he could casually manage.

"This is way too excessive, damn it!"

Garp hurried to Charloss's corpse, and for once even he nearly cracked on the spot.

"To cause this much destruction in such a short time…"

Before he could finish, a deafening crash suddenly erupted from the direction of the palace.

Garp turned toward the sound—

And his eyes bulged so hard they nearly popped out.

In the distance, the towering palace building was visibly sinking lower with every explosion.

Each thunderous impact reduced it by another full level.

Standing in front of the palace gates was a blazing red figure—

Da Hong, still deep in berserk mode.

Even as Garp stood there in shock, Da Hong threw another punch.

That single strike blasted away an entire falling section of the palace, sending it exploding into the sky in a shower of debris.

"This is way too excessive!"

Watching Da Hong casually destroy the Goa Kingdom royal palace, floor by floor, Garp realized that stopping him now was already impossible.

He could only stand there, completely stunned.

"Vice Admiral Garp, this… this…"

The adjutant beside him was just as shaken, speaking in a stammer.

"There aren't any kingdom soldiers or royals in sight… They… they weren't all beaten into the sky too, were they?"

"If that's true, then the Goa Kingdom has… it's…"

Garp's facial muscles twitched violently.

To destroy a World Government member nation in under two minutes—

Even standing here in the middle of the capital, he still found it hard to accept as reality.

A Celestial Dragon murdered in the street.

The Goa Kingdom destroyed in two minutes.

What kind of joke was this?

Off the Coast of the Goa Kingdom

Meanwhile, on the sea outside the Goa Kingdom—

Because Green Rabbit was the strongest support unit imaginable, Kairo never had to worry about the ship itself. He stood alone on deck, eyes narrowed as he looked toward the royal city.

At the harbor, there was not only a Marine warship, but also a massive, luxurious ship of a different sort.

Above that opulent vessel flew a flag snapping sharply in the wind.

As a transmigrator, Kairo recognized it instantly.

It was the World Government flag.

Which meant the ship belonged to the Celestial Dragon delegation.

At that moment, Green Rabbit hurried over after anchoring the ship offshore. He blinked and looked in the same direction as Kairo, toward the layered royal city built by the sea.

"Little Green," Kairo said, glancing sideways at him, "Da Hong and Droopy probably haven't made too much of a mess, right?"

Then he added,

"If they've really stirred up something too big… do we cut and run?"

Green Rabbit looked at the city, then at Kairo, and nodded hard.

"Just as expected. You're still the most reliable one."

Kairo patted him on the shoulder and narrowed his eyes again toward the city.

Suddenly, his pupils contracted.

A vision flashed before his eyes—

A scene that would happen just over ten seconds later.

In it, bodies were falling from the sky like rain.

Some crashed into the harbor.

Others slammed onto the deck right at his feet, spraying blood everywhere.

This was not imagination.

It was the future he had glimpsed through his Observation Haki.

His Observation Haki, Conqueror's Haki, and Armament Haki had all been part of the "beginner gift package" the system had thrown at him after backing down from its threats.

No training.

No effort.

Just one-click claiming and instant max level.

Completely unreasonable.

"…Holy hell."

Kairo's eyes widened.

"They actually wiped out the Goa Kingdom?!"

The moment he saw that future through Observation Haki, he turned and bolted for the cabin without hesitation.

"Little Green—time to run!"

Green Rabbit had just followed him into the control room when countless dark shapes suddenly filled the night sky outside.

In the next instant, dense splashes erupted from the direction of the harbor.

Even though Kairo had foreseen it with Observation Haki, they were still a step too slow.

Bodies rained down from above.

Some splashed into the sea around the harbor.

Others dropped toward the water around Kairo's ship like dumplings being tossed into a boiling pot.

For a moment—

The sound of bodies hitting the sea became endless.
