Chapter 15 - Chapter 015 - Halo: Primal Darkness Eternity!

Why would a Rare-grade treasure be so cheap?

Naturally, it's because this is the newbie period. One must understand a simple truth: treasures during the newbie period aren't truly treasures; only what is converted into one's own strength is real.

If you can't even defend your own territory, then there's no point talking about treasures. Others aren't fools either; there are only two possibilities when someone sells an item of this grade at a rock-bottom price.

One is that something went wrong with the territory. To be more precise, they chose a difficulty that was a bit too high for the Void Trial and wanted to take a gamble. The result was that their troops were wiped out, and they lacked the resources to recruit more, so they chose to sell low.

Such situations are very common during the newbie period. People overestimate the strength of their troops and underestimate the difficulty of the Void Trial, which leads to the frequent occurrence of treasures being sold cheaply.

There's no choice; if they don't sell low, they can't develop. If they can't develop, they can't defend their territory. This is the price they pay for their own actions.

The other fundamental reason a lord sells treasures cheaply is for better development—selling a treasure they can't use to acquire resources they can.

To better develop their territory, these kinds of lords often know how to make trade-offs and have more long-term planning and development goals.

Su Ye thought for a moment and then replied to the message.

[Otherworld Traveler: Alright, but I only have gold coins, no origin crystals. Let's trade with gold coins.]

On her end, Lin Xiaoxiao looked at the message Su Ye sent, a hint of cunning in her eyes: "Twenty thousand gold coins... it's only the second day, that's not a small amount. Either the initial territory has a gold mine, or the troops are powerful enough. No origin crystals? Not necessarily. But he can be considered a potential lead, though I'm not sure which kind."

[Little Merchant: Alright, Big Boss. I've sent a private trade request, please confirm it.]

Su Ye looked at the private trade request that popped up.

[Ding: Little Merchant has initiated a private trade with you. Do you confirm?]

Su Ye chose to confirm.

An azure blue chat box appeared before Su Ye and Lin Xiaoxiao.

Su Ye and Lin Xiaoxiao simultaneously uploaded the items they were trading.

The trade was completed. Su Ye obtained the seed of darkness, and Lin Xiaoxiao obtained twenty thousand gold coins.

[Little Merchant: It was a pleasure doing business, Big Boss. If you need anything, you can always find Xiaoxiao~]

Su Ye looked at the message sent by Little Merchant.

[Otherworld Traveler: Actually, I do. seed of technology—if you find one, please keep an eye out for me.]

Lin Xiaoxiao replied quickly.

[Little Merchant: OK, got it, Big Boss.]

Su Ye glanced at the message and then closed the chat panel. As for how much Lin Xiaoxiao earned, that was her business; without her, Su Ye wouldn't have found a seed of darkness so quickly.

"It seems there are still some formidable people among the newbie lords," Su Ye thought as he looked at the seed of darkness.

On Lin Xiaoxiao's side, looking at the gold coins traded over, her eyes curved into crescent moons: "seed of technology? First a seed of darkness, then a seed of technology—what does he want these things for? Hoarding them, or...? Whatever, the customer is God, and gold resources are the God of Gods. Merchant's rule: don't ask questions, just complete the trade. Knowing too much isn't a good thing."

Lin Xiaoxiao began to contact the merchants under her command. She wasn't sure if Su Ye was a 'Big Boss' yet, but so far, Su Ye was her biggest customer, bar none.

Whether he would soar to the sky or fade into the crowd after the newbie period was a matter for later; for now, being her biggest customer was enough.

"Plans can't keep up with changes. I'll upgrade the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary first, otherwise, today's recruitment quota will be wasted." Su Ye walked directly toward the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary.

Looking at the black cathedral...

[Ding: Do you wish to consume origin crystal x1000, seed of darkness x1, and Gold Coin x1W to upgrade the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary?]

"Upgrade!" Su Ye looked at the black cathedral in front of him and confirmed immediately.

A black light soared into the sky, turning into a black pillar of light that pierced through Su Ye's territory.

One figure after another appeared by Su Ye's side.

Lilith, the Original Sin Fallen Angel, and Talys, of the Gene Forbidden Army, appeared behind Su Ye one after another.

Lilith watched the changes in the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary and breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought some accident had occurred, but now it seemed it was just an upgrade.

As the light dissipated, the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary stood even more profoundly upon the earth. The surrounding space seemed to become viscous, constantly shrinking inward as if collapsing; the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary was like a black hole, continuously swallowing all light.

Su Ye immediately checked the latest information on the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary.

Name: Fallen Heaven Sanctuary

Level: 3

Rank: God-grade

Faction: Chaos Faction

Recruit: 10/30 (Daily)

Consumption: 1 Gold Coin (1,000,000)

Halo: Primal Darkness Eternity

Upgrade: origin crystal x10000, Gold Coin x10W, seed of darkness x10

...

"It gained a halo, but are these upgrade materials for real?" Su Ye looked at the materials needed to upgrade the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary; they were more explosive every time.

This is just ridiculous.

Su Ye shook his head and checked the halo that appeared after the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary's upgrade. This kind of thing was exclusive to barracks; once upgraded to a certain level, the barracks would derive a corresponding halo.

Primal Darkness Eternity: God-grade halo, exclusive to the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary. All troops recruited from the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary will not truly die; after death, they will return to the Primal Dark to be reborn, unless the barracks are destroyed! PS: Primal Darkness Eternity, the origin of all, the end of all. May you be as eternal and majestic as the Primal Dark!!

"Uh..." Su Ye looked at the Primal Darkness Eternity halo. Another 'Resurrection Armor,' and this one had no cooldown. Although the Hall of Valor could resurrect, it was only once per day.

But this Primal Darkness Eternity was truly a bit unreasonable.

"So this is the halo that comes with a God-grade barracks? It's really... wonderful." Su Ye's smile gradually became deviant.

The only slightly regrettable thing was that Primal Darkness Eternity only applied to troops recruited from the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary. That was the downside.

"Forget it, I can't be too greedy." Su Ye looked at Lilith and Talys.

Among lords, all attributes can stack. This meant Lilith now had two 'Resurrection Armors'—one with a cooldown and one without.

"Lilith, Talys, follow me." Su Ye said to Lilith and Talys, leading them directly into the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary.

There were still 10 units of recruitment quota today, and Su Ye naturally wouldn't let them go to waste.

Recruitment quotas refresh daily and do not stack. There's only so many each day; if you don't recruit, tomorrow's refresh will be a new day's quota. This is also one of the main reasons many lords sell treasures cheaply to exchange for resources.
