Saffron City is also one of the top-tier metropolises in the Kanto region. However, it is far more famous for the Saffron Gym. The reason for the gym's fame is quite simple: the Gym Leader, Sabrina, is overwhelmingly strong. Relying solely on her Kadabra, she can completely decimate crowds of challengers—let alone when she gets serious and fights in perfect synchronization with her Kadabra's mind.
Just as Ash and his group were about to step into Saffron City, a middle-aged man suddenly appeared via Teleport. However, the moment he appeared, he clung tightly to Ash's thigh.
"Ash! You're finally here! That child Sabrina is throwing a tantrum again lately. I can't even see my own wife right now! Please, I'm begging you, hurry up and calm Sabrina down!"
"Oh, Uncle, how did you manage to piss off Sabrina again? Also, could you stop hugging my leg? It feels really weird."
"No! I won't let go! I want my wife!"
"Meowth, Chansey, beat him up!"
"Got it! Let's get 'em, Chansey!"
"Lucky!"
Crash! Bang! Whack! Following a brutally violent beatdown, the middle-aged man hugging Ash's leg was pummeled by Meowth and Chansey until he couldn't get back up. Yellow asked with some concern, "Big Brother Ash, is he going to be okay?"
"He's fine. It's not his first time getting beaten up, so don't worry about it. Though speaking of which... Sabrina is probably watching us right now, isn't she?"
Just as Ash suspected, Sabrina, who was currently observing them using her psychic powers, was laughing so hard she couldn't close her mouth. Although the one suffering was her father, she simply couldn't hold back. After all, she didn't care how unlucky her old man got. What Sabrina didn't know, however, was that there were plenty more surprises in store.
The moment Ash and his group officially set foot into Saffron City, a string of firecrackers went off. Subsequently, two 'beauties' dressed in Hawaiian-style outfits appeared and lunged toward Ash. Seeing this situation, Ash directly activated his secret technique.
"Defense Descent!" Ash grabbed Brock, who was standing to the side, with one hand and pulled him in front as a meat shield. Consequently, Brock received the passionate hospitality of the two 'beauties'. They showered him with flowers and kisses. In his utter bewilderment, Brock turned his head and even ended up sharing a kiss on the lips with the short-haired 'beauty'.
Jessie: "Congratulations! You are the one millionth visitor to Saffron City!"
James: "Please accept our grand lucky prize!"
However, Ash watched the Team Rocket duo, shielded Yellow and the others behind him, and slowly backed away. "You two... at least make your lies somewhat believable. The Continental Hotel in Saffron City gave out the prize for the one millionth visitor four years ago. And not to point fingers, James, but you're a grown man! Could you please stop crossdressing?!"
Hearing Ash say this, the one with the biggest reaction was Brock—because the person he had just kissed was James!
"Wait! Ash, did you just say he's James?!"
"Yeah. I was a bit stunned when I saw two women suddenly charging at me, but taking a closer look, it's obvious."
"Bleurgh! Bleurgh! Bleurgh!!!"
Accompanied by the sounds of violent retching, both James and Brock instantly started throwing up on the sidelines. When Brock saw James's face, he vomited even harder.
Elesa looked at Team Rocket, slightly speechless. "Your obsession with Pikachu is seriously deep... Though Ash's Pikachu is indeed incredibly strong."
"Hahaha. That's right! We are absolutely determined to get that Pikachu! Even our Boss praised us for having a good eye!" Speaking of this, Jessie looked extremely smug. Meowth also jumped out and said, "That's right, meow! Our funding is overflowing! We're definitely catching Pikachu this time!"
Watching them act like this, Ash helplessly rubbed his temples. His godfather had really found a massive headache for him.

Meanwhile, over at the Team Rocket Base, Matori was pressing Giovanni with a question. "Boss, why do you let those three keep bothering Young Master Ash?"
"Heh heh. Just think of it as adding a little entertainment for Ash. Besides, James is the young master of the Sasaki family. That guy Sasaki asked me to look after him when he came here. Jessie's mother is one of our high-ranking executives; she just wants Jessie to work hard and make her own way. As for Meowth, his abilities are actually quite decent. The fact that the three of them set their sights on Ash's Pikachu shows they have a very good eye. Furthermore, the mechas they build to try and catch Pikachu are quite impressive. Giving them plenty of funding is fine; after all, we make far more money reverse-engineering the machines they build. You can take a look for yourself."
"Then why not transfer them to the R&D department?" Matori was also amazed looking at the machines Meowth and the others had built. This was far from simple.
Giovanni chuckled and replied, "The machines they build serve as excellent training for Ash's Pokémon. They also provide us with some very good combat data. Keeping things as they are isn't bad at all."
"Understood."
