After searching the surrounding area and finding no trace of Brock, Ash could only have Meowth use a machine to track his location. Soon after, Ash confirmed it: the arrested pervert was indeed Brock.
"Boss, are we going to bail him out?" Meowth looked speechlessly at the device in his hand displaying Brock's location, asking weakly.
The Pikachu on Ash's shoulder had already covered its face in speechlessness. Chansey also looked like she didn't know what to say.
Finally, Ash clapped his hands and said, "Let's go! Off to the Celadon Gym. We'll leave him to cool his head in the police station for a bit, so he stops constantly causing trouble."
"Agreed, meow!"
"Pika pi!" (Me too!)
"Lucky!" (It's for the best so he doesn't cause any more trouble!)
In the end, Brock was simply abandoned by Ash and the others. Ash even received a phone call.
"Boss, the police department said they need to borrow Machoke and Machamp from our fitness center."
"Lend them out! Assisting the police is official business."
"Understood, boss!"
After hanging up the phone, Ash acted as if nothing had happened and walked away with Pikachu and the others, leaving behind only an incredibly cool and handsome back silhouette. Of course, the fact that this silhouette represented the miserable future of a certain pervert... can we all just pretend that nothing happened?
On the way to the Celadon Gym, Ash unexpectedly ran into Team Rocket. Currently, their bodies were emitting the distinct stench of a Gloom, and they were strung up in a tree.
"Wow, don't tell me you guys tried to sneak into the Celadon Gym? Don't you know there's a Gloom in there? Gloom's stench is easily on par with socks that haven't been washed in years and have grown moldy."
"We've already experienced it firsthand..." x3
James: "Let's not talk about that... Could you let us down? I want to take a shower... I smell so bad!"
Hearing James's words, Jessie clamped James in a deadly headscissors hold and said, "You idiot! Why are you begging the twerp for mercy?!"
"You're the idiot, meow! Don't tell me you want to smell this stench even more?!"
Looking at these three, Ash shook his head, pulled out a bottle of air freshener, and started spraying them.
"Letting you down is impossible, but I can give you a little bit of fresh air... Alright, I used the whole bottle, that should do it. Well then, I'm off. Bye-bye!"
"Pika pi!" (Bye-bye!)
"Lucky~" (Don't go looking for death next time!)
"Meow, couldn't you guys find something else to do, meow..."
Although Ash didn't let them down, his air freshener still saved Team Rocket. Therefore, they said gratefully, "Thanks, twerp!" x3
"Alright Beedrills, put this special honey on them." Hearing that, Ash directly pulled out some honey and had the Beedrills smear it all over Team Rocket.
Jessie: "Huh? What is this?"
James: "I don't know, but it looks really sweet."
After taking a taste, Meowth said, "Meow! It's honey! Wait—honey?!"
Subsequently, a swarm of red-eyed Beedrills rushed towards them.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again~!" x3
"This is an official Gym Battle. Gym Leader Erika will be battling against Ash!"
Erika looked at Ash with a smile and said, "Since my opponent is you, Ash, I won't hold back. Go! Victreebel!"
"Viiic!"
Knowing Ash's strength, Erika wouldn't use the Pokémon she typically used to deal with ordinary rookies. Ash also threw out his Luxury Ball.
"Come on out, Bulbasaur."
"Bulba. Bulbasaur!"
Bulbasaur looked at its opponent, its eyes filled with fighting spirit. Simultaneously, it began to activate the 'Deep Breath' technique Ash had taught it.
"Victreebel, use Razor Leaf!"
"Viiic!"
Victreebel swung its leaf, and countless razor-sharp leaves flew toward Bulbasaur.
"Block it with Vine Whip!"
"Bulba!"
Bolstered by the 'Deep Breath', Bulbasaur's Vine Whips were incredibly tough and directly parried the Razor Leaf attack.
"Launch a Cut attack with Vine Whip!"
"Oh no! Victreebel, dodge quickly!" When she saw Bulbasaur's Vine Whip lashing toward Victreebel, Erika realized something was wrong. Fortunately, her command came in time, and Victreebel dodged the strike. As Bulbasaur's Cut attack slammed into the ground, a massive fissure appeared on the battlefield, showcasing the sheer power behind Bulbasaur's move.
Victreebel directly spewed Acid toward Bulbasaur. Ash, unhurried, said, "Bulbasaur, take a deep breath, and then—Bullet Seed: Ripple Overdrive!"
As a flash of light radiated from Bulbasaur's body, its cheeks puffed out. Then, it rapidly fired out countless glowing seeds that completely obliterated Victreebel's Acid and struck Victreebel directly.
"Oh no!"
"Finishing blow! Solar Beam!"
"Bulbaaaa!!!"
The power of the Ripple surged through Bulbasaur's body. Subsequently, a powerful Solar Beam fired instantly, striking Victreebel head-on in a single hit. Even though Victreebel was a Grass-type, after getting hit by such a massive ultimate move, it had no strength left to battle.
"Victreebel is unable to battle! Miss Erika, please switch your Pokémon."
"You did your best, Victreebel. Return." After recalling Victreebel, Erika threw out her Poké Ball.
"Gloom, go!"
"Gloom!"
Looking at Gloom, Ash curled his lip. Gloom was indeed a troublesome enemy to fight, but Bulbasaur truly had nothing to fear.
"Gloom, use Poison Gas!"
"Gloom!"
A yellow gas rushed toward Bulbasaur. Looking at the gas, which was clearly not something to mess with, Bulbasaur took a deep breath and then exhaled forcefully. The foul gas was blown away instantly.
"What?!" Erika was stunned by Bulbasaur's maneuver.
Ash explained, "Sorry about that. Using Bullet Seed is a great test of lung capacity, so your Gloom has already lost! Solar Beam!"
Empowered by the Ripple, Bulbasaur's second Solar Beam packed immense power and defeated Gloom directly.
"Gloom is unable to battle..." Erika looked at Ash's Bulbasaur, feeling somewhat troubled. "This is difficult... His Bulbasaur can fire Solar Beams instantly!"
Just as Erika was feeling troubled, three arrogant laughs rang out.
"Hahahaha!" x3
Hearing that idiotic laughter, Ash knew that the three were back again.
