"So scary... That smell was absolutely horrifying... I almost died..."
Thanks to Ash's heroic rescue, Brock was finally saved. Upon waking up, Brock recalled the terrifying experience while sighing in relief at surviving the ordeal. However, Ash and the others were keeping a wide distance from him, as the pungent stench clinging to his body hadn't yet dissipated.
"Ash, it's about time we wrap this up. Those guys should have learned their lesson by now, right?"
Looking at the group of people outside, Misty felt they had suffered enough. Ash nodded at her suggestion and subsequently made a phone call.
"Is the stuff I asked you to prepare ready?"
"No problem, Boss! We can start whenever you're ready!"
Hearing the response, Ash glanced at the scorching sunny weather outside and said, "Increase the dosage a bit. It's really sunny out here. Start now."
"Yes sir! Artificial rain-making missiles, fire!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Following a few explosions in the sky, dark clouds rapidly gathered over Dark City. With a crack of thunder, heavy rain began to pour.
Ash watched the downpour and said, "We just have to wait for the streets to be washed clean. Let's wait a bit longer."
As Ash said this, the citizens of Dark City were all staring at him with gazes reserved for an absolute mob boss.
When Kaz and Yas were finally let down, they had caught colds. But thinking about it, staying tied up in the freezing rain would give anyone a cold. Ash looked at the two of them and scoffed, "You two trashed the reputation of trainers, and you still want to open official gyms? What a joke!"
"Achoo! What do you know?! As long as we become an official gym, we can get investments from the Pokémon League! Achoo!" Kaz, knowing he couldn't beat Ash in a fight, explained their motives.
Yas chimed in from the side, "That's right! Not only that, but if we have an official gym, the Continental Hotel will also open investments here! Achoo!"
"Inspectors from the Pokémon League will never approve of thugs who only know how to street brawl." Ash unceremoniously poured a bucket of cold water over their wishful thinking.
But Kaz and Yas refused to give up, insisting, "Impossible! We'll prove ourselves with our strength!"
"You mean the strength that let my team entirely wipe you out? You come talk to these two idiots..."
Ash stepped aside, and the person who had been bundled up tightly walked over.
"You're still wearing all that? Aren't you hot?"
"This is for observation purposes!"
Looking at the heavily disguised person, Kaz and Yas demanded, "And who the hell are you?"
"Me? I am an inspector of justice from the Pokémon League!" Saying this, the person took out a Poké Ball with the letter 'P' engraved on it.
"We're doomed!"
Seeing the mark on the Poké Ball, Kaz and Yas knew they were genuinely screwed this time.
Ash, meanwhile, said to the inspector, "Joy, that's about enough, right?"
"Honestly, Ash, couldn't you leave me with some sense of mystery?"
Saying this, Nurse Joy helplessly removed her mask and sunglasses before glaring angrily at Kaz and Yas. "The Pokémon League will absolutely never recognize guys like you, who only use Pokémon for street brawling, as an official gym!"
Hearing Joy's verdict, Kaz and Yas fell to their knees in despair.
"How could this be..."
"What have we been fighting for all this time...?"
Seeing the two, Joy clearly wasn't done crushing their spirits. She continued, "Not only will the Pokémon League refuse to give you resources, but the Continental Hotel will do the same! Because you've already thoroughly offended their big boss!"
Saying this, Joy pointed to the other side where Ash was currently massaging Psyduck's head. "That guy over there is the absolute big boss of the Continental Hotel. Now do you understand just how badly you've screwed yourselves over?"
Kaz and Yas looked at Ash, then back at Joy, their jaws dropping so wide they couldn't speak a single word. Ash looked at the two shell-shocked goons and raised an eyebrow.
"Surprise! Are you shocked? With the way you two have been acting, you actually want investments? I'll invest a pile of rotting fish to your face! I'd have to have a screw loose in my brain to agree to invest in your gyms! With the morals you two display, your gyms would be absolute trash!"
"Boss! We're sorry! We were wrong!"
"Please give us another chance!"
Looking at these two groveling, Ash rubbed his Psyduck's head and thought for a moment.
"To be honest, with the way you guys have turned this city into a smog-filled slum, there's no way I'd invest. It's a total loss-making business."
"Don't be like that... We'll change!"
"That's right! We know we were wrong!"
Looking at Kaz, Yas, and their gym members, Ash thought for a bit before saying, "Then you guys had better start by repairing all the places you've destroyed first. I'm in no mood to invest in a ruined, decaying city."
"Yes! Mr. Chef!"
Being called "Mr. Chef" made Ash pause for a second, but then he murmured, "Well, if you think about it carefully, they aren't technically wrong."
Afterward, the people of the Kaz and Yas Gyms began the restoration work for the city. What left everyone speechless was that while these guys sucked at fighting, they were surprisingly skilled at carpentry. Watching the Yas and Kaz grunts working together on woodworking, Misty said speechlessly, "If they don't become a construction crew..."
Ash watched the Kaz and Yas Gym members working with perfect synergy and also replied speechlessly, "Actually, I was thinking the exact same thing. With these skills, not going into construction is just a massive waste of talent."
Seeing Electabuzz soldering electrical wires by hand and Scyther expertly carving wood, Ash seriously suspected they had done this plenty of times before.
Suzie, looking at the scene, simply smiled and said, "But this isn't bad either, is it?"
At this time, the restaurant uncle walked over, looked at Ash and the group, and said, "We truly owe you our deepest thanks this time. If it weren't for you, who knows what a ruined state Dark City would have been reduced to."
Meanwhile, looking at Brock—who was so ashamed he wanted to find a hole to crawl into—Lara patted Ash's shoulder and said, "Alright, Ash, don't be too hard on him... he's already completely hopeless, so just let him be."
Just as Brock was feeling a bit touched by her intervention, Lara's follow-up words threw him straight into hell. Struck down by the insult, Brock collapsed to his knees in despair, weeping, "I really am a hopeless guy!"
Ash and the others just exchanged a glance and laughed.
