When Yas and Kaz woke up from their comas, they suddenly found themselves tied to wooden crosses, surrounded by a large crowd of onlookers.
Ash was still wearing his gentleman's suit, sitting on his chair, though this time he was rubbing Meowth's head. Meowth comfortably narrowed his eyes in bliss.
"You two, do you have any idea how much trouble you've brought to Dark City?"
Hearing Ash say this, the tied-up Kaz yelled angrily, "Who the hell are you?! Don't you know you're interfering with the establishment of our Gyms?!"
Following Kaz's lead, the equally tied-up Yas chimed in, "That's right, this is an act of violence!"
Hearing Yas's words, the surrounding citizens instantly flared up in rage.
"Who are the ones really causing violence here?!"
Following that, countless rotten fish and spoiled vegetables were frantically thrown at Yas and Kaz by the furious citizens. Some even included animal feces collected by mischievous kids.
Constantly assaulted by such foul-smelling garbage, the tied-up Kaz and Yas could only reap what they sowed. After all, their gang wars had caused severe economic decline in Dark City. Now given the chance for revenge, the citizens didn't mind letting them thoroughly experience their wrath.
"It stinks so much! How long have you guys been keeping this stuff?!"
Yas's face turned purple from the stench coming off him. However, just as he was speaking, a lump of feces flew straight into his open mouth.
"Mommy!!!"
Seeing Yas's tragic fate, Kaz hurriedly clamped his mouth shut. But the citizens didn't care whether his mouth was closed or not; they just kept aiming for the face!
While the citizens were venting their anger, Ash looked over to the side at the similarly tied-up Brock.
"Oh my, this outfit fits you quite well, doesn't it? Looks pretty similar to your old clothes."
Looking at Brock wearing the Yas Gym uniform, it surprisingly fit him quite well—though it paired even better with his currently tied-up state.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong..."
The bound Brock could only beg for forgiveness now, as the current situation was just far too humiliating. Ash asked with amusement, "Oh? And what exactly were you wrong about?"
"I shouldn't have been seduced into becoming a hired thug..."
"So you do know you became a hired thug? Seems you still have some self-awareness."
"Are you going to let me go now?"
Just as Brock filled with hope, Ash shook his head and said, "No, I absolutely have to teach you a lesson this time."
Ash then turned to the citizens. "Everyone, this embarrassing guy is our companion. He was seduced into becoming a thug. Please refrain from throwing vegetables at him this time. Just leave him tied up here for a while and disperse."
Since Brock was also wearing a Yas Gym uniform, the citizens had considered him a target for their rotten fish and spoiled shrimp.
"Since you've said so, sir, we'll let it go this time. Everyone, let's go back to throwing things at Kaz and Yas!"
"Yeah!"
Following that, Kaz and Yas suffered an even more ferocious barrage. Although Brock was still tied up, he was lucky enough to dodge a bullet. At least he wouldn't have a pile of rotting, stinking garbage chucked at his face.
This 'beautifully' executed punishment lasted all the way until noon. And at noon, something terrifying occurred. Who knows if it was because Kaz and Yas were just incredibly unlucky, or if even God couldn't stand the sight of them, but Dark City's usually gloomy weather suddenly broke into a glaringly bright, sunny day. As the intense sunlight began to bake them, the most horrific thing happened.
You have to understand, the stuff the citizens threw at Kaz and Yas were rotten fish, spoiled shrimp, and stinking eggs. Those things were foul enough on their own, but now, baked under the scorching sun... My god! That stench reached absolute, terrifying extremes.
Regardless, Kaz and Yas had already completely passed out from that overwhelmingly 'refreshing' aroma.
Seeing Kaz and Yas in such a miserable state, Ash and his friends had absolutely zero sympathy. After all, these two had brought this entirely upon themselves.
Suzie looked at the clearly fume-intoxicated Kaz and Yas and couldn't help but ask, "Are they going to suffocate from the smell?"
Addressing Suzie's concern, Ash indifferently played with Eevee and said, "Relax. They've passed out now, so they should be fine. We'll let them down later. Besides, the citizens clearly aren't planning on letting these two off the hook just yet..."
Saying this, Ash glanced at the nearby citizens, who all nodded in agreement.
"They deserve it!"
"Exactly!"
"It's because they fought all day that we couldn't even make a living!"
Looking at the citizens, Ash turned to Suzie and the others and said, "See? It's not me picking on them; they're just genuinely hated by everyone."
"True, but Ash... do you get the feeling we forgot someone?" Lara looked at the physically visible green stench outside and gave a gentle reminder.
At her words, Ash finally realized it. "Oh crap! We didn't bring Brock inside! He..."
"He's already passed out."
Looking outside at Brock, who had clearly been knocked out by the fumes alongside all the Kaz and Yas Gym grunts, Lara knew it was wrong, but she couldn't stop herself from wanting to laugh.
"Meowth! Prepare the hazmat suits! We're going to rescue Brock!"
"Roger that, Boss! But do we really have to go out there?"
"Pika..." (It looks terrifying out there...)
Meowth and Pikachu looked at the visibly noxious gas outside with deep concern. Ash, while putting on the hazmat suit Meowth handed him, said, "Bring an extra suit. I need to stuff Brock inside it."
"Alright. Be careful, Boss."
Taking the extra hazmat suit, Ash charged out into the hellscape-like street!
