I didn't go home that day.
My feet kept walking, but i don't know where i was going.
The words from the classroom kept repeating in my mind.
"You don't even have parents..."
"Bad omen..."
I covered my ears tightly, as if that could stop the memories.
But it didn't.
My vision become blurry as tears slowly fall down my face.
"Why ...?" I whispered.
I didn't know who I was asking anymore.
I found myself in the park. It was the same place where I used to play with my friend from orphanage.
Jiwoo...
He was my best friend
He always stayed by my side and supported me when on one else did.
I still remember how we used to laugh together here. But now.... He is gone.
He was adopted by a foreign family and moved abroad.
At that time, i told myself i would be okay alone.
But today...
When no one was beside me again..
I found myself thinking about him
I slowly sat down on the old bench.
The cold wind brushed past me, but i didn't move.
Suddenly, I saw a shadow fall in front of me.
"Jia.."
A familiar Voice called my name.
I slowly looked up.
It was Sihoon.
He stood there, slightly out of breath, as if he had been searching for me. His eyes met mine.
My eyes were red from crying.
For a moment, neither of us said anything.
He looked a step closer.
"I have been looking for you," he said sofy.
I quickly looked away, unable to meet his eyes.
My fingers tightened around the edgyif the bench.
" You didn't have to come here ..." I said quietly.
I tried didn't have to come here ..." I said quietly.
I tried to sound normal, but my voice trembled slightly.
I didn't want him to see me like this.
He didn't move.
"Why did you leave?" He asked softly.
I stayed silent for a moment.
I avoided his gazyas he stepped closer.
" Why are you avoiding me?" He asked sofy.
I shook my head slightly.
" You didn't do anything wrong..."
My voice was quite, almost breathing.
" It's not yourself ".
He looked at me for a long moment
" Then why you do look like you are about to cry again?" He said gently.
I froze.
I tried to stay strong.... But something inside me slowly broke.
" I am fine ", i said.
But even i didn't believe those words.
He looked at me quietly.
"Did you eat anything?" He asked gently.
I didn't answer.
" I think you haven't eater since morning ", he added.
I lowered my Head.
"Let's go home. I will take you", he said.
I shook my head slightly.
"I am fine... I can go by myself".
" You look pale". He said softly.
Then he stepped closer and held out his hand.
"Come with me"
I hesitated for a moment.
But before i could say anything.
He gently took my hand.
We walked together in silence.
His hand was still holding mine... warm and steady.
For some reason, i didn't want to pull away.
" I feel safe for the first time..." I whispered.
".... Like I am not alone anymore."
He didn't say any, but his grip tightened slightly.
As we walked, he suddenly stopped in front of a small restaurant.
"I heard they really good ttoekbokki." He said softly.
"Maybe it will make you feel better."
Before i could respond, he gently pulled me inside.
And for the first time that day...
I felt a small warmth return to my heart.
After we sat at the table, he looked at me quietly.
" You don't have to pretend in front of me".
He said.
I stayed silent.
"You can tell me if something hurts, " he added softly.
I hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"Do you really think i am a bad omen?"
He frowned slightly.
" Why would you think that?" He asked.
" That not true". He said firmly.
" You are not something to blamed."
His voice softened a little.
" You are stronger than anyone i know".
I looked at him surprised.
No one had ever said something like that to me before.
He hesitated for a moment then added.
" And.... You should never thiyof yourself as a bad omen."
I stayed silent, but his words slowly settled in my heart. Then he looked serious again.
"But i think Sora is hiding something ", he said.
I frowned slightly.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He shook his head.
"I am not sure yet... But we will find out.
At that moment, the food arrived.
The smile of warm ttoekbokki filled the air.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
He pushed the plate of ttoekbokki slightly toward me.
" Eat first." She said salty.
I couldn feel his eyes on me as I picked up a piece slowly.
I hesitated for a moment...then took a bite.
"Is it good?" He asked.
I nodded slightly.
"Yeah.. it tastes good".
" I know it", he said.
For the first time in a day long while....
I felt safe.
Maybe.....
I wasn't alone anymore.
