The night had been quiet.
Too quiet.
The crooked little cottage sat at the edge of town like it always did, its windows glowing faintly with leftover magic. Normally there would be the sound of spells popping, potions bubbling, or Wizard arguing with a book that refused to turn its own pages.
But tonight there was only silence.
Inside the cottage, Wizard lay completely still in his chair.
Eyes closed.
Breathing slowly.
Not asleep.
Something worse.
A curse.
Earlier that day, the Evil Witch had come to back to town. She had challenged Wizard to a duel to get her revenge with stronger magic. The sky had turned purple, lightning cracked through the clouds, and the ground shook from spell after spell.
Wizard had fought well.
But the witch had one final spell.
A whisper of dark magic that was very powerful.
A single glowing word that gave him a curse.
And suddenly Wizard collapsed.
Not dead.
But trapped in a deep magical sleep.
No spell Wizard knew could wake him.
No potion worked.
No magic book had the answer.
Whiskers Realizes there was a Problem.
Whiskers walked slowly across the room, staring up at Wizard.
He poked Wizard's arm.
Nothing.
He waved a paw in front of Wizard's face.
Nothing.
He climbed onto Wizard's head.
Still nothing.
Whiskers sat there for a moment.
Then his ears lowered.
Wizard wasn't waking up he was in deep sleep.
And suddenly the cottage felt very big and very quiet.
Normally Wizard was always talking.
Complaining about magic rules.
Arguing with spells.
Giving long lectures about "responsible wizard behavior" that Whiskers never listened to.
Now there was nothing whiskers could do but he had to try to find away to save him because the wizard was still breathing.
Whiskers knew the wizard was not yet gone. Just cursed by an evil witch.
Whiskers looked around the room were scattered
Books everywhere, even
Potions were all over the place.
Magical junk everywhere.
Wizard always said:
"Somewhere in this house is a solution to every magical problem."
Whiskers' tail flicked.
He had an idea.
He searched everywhere to see if the wizard had anything that could help fight this curse.
Whiskers jumped onto the wizard desk.
Papers scattered everywhere.
Magic scrolls rolled across the floor.
But there was something that caught whiskers eyes. A glowing book that suddenly popped open.
Inside the book was a spell Wizard had been working on.
Not finished.
But powerful.
At the top of the page were the words:
"DOOR SPELL – Opens portals to other worlds."
Whiskers tilted his head Curious?
"Meow." He said to himself that meant hmm.
Other worlds could mean that other wizards could possibly know how to break the curse.
Other wizards meant… there's
Doctors.
Magic doctors.
Someone somewhere had to know how to break a sleeping curse.
Whiskers looked back at Wizard.
Still asleep.
Still unmoving.
The cat made a decision.
He grabbed Wizard's wand.
This was now his mission.
Whiskers climbed onto the table and pointed the wand at the air.
He had watched Wizard cast spells thousands of times.
How hard could it be?
He wiggled the wand.
Nothing.
He waved it again.
Nothing.
Then he accidentally sneezed.
The wand fired a blast of magic.
BOOM.
A glowing door ripped open in the middle of the room.
Wind rushed out of it.
Strange smells.
Stranger sounds.
Whiskers stared into the portal.
Unknown world.
Unknown dangers.
Possibly fish.
Good enough.
The cat stepped through.
Whiskers landed in a forest filled with giant glowing mushrooms taller than houses.
Everything was quiet.
Too quiet.
Then the mushrooms started moving.
Eyes opened across their stems.
Little teeth appeared along their caps.
Apparently these mushrooms were not friendly.
One lunged forward.
Whiskers leaped into the air just in time.
Another mushroom snapped at him.
Whiskers bounced between them like a furry acrobat.
He grabbed Wizard's wand mid-jump.
A random spell shot out.
Suddenly every mushroom turned bright blue.
The creatures froze.
Then slowly tipped over.
Whiskers blinked.
He had no idea what spell that was.
But it worked.
But whiskers kept walking.
Somewhere in this strange world there had to be someone who could help Wizard.
After hours of wandering, Whiskers found a traveler sitting beside a fire.
A tall creature wearing armor made of bones.
The traveler looked down at the cat.
"Well," the creature said. "That's unusual."
Whiskers held up Wizard's wand proudly.
The creature nodded slowly.
"A wizard's familiar."
Whiskers pointed back toward the glowing portal still floating in the distance.
Then mimicked someone sleeping.
The traveler scratched their chin.
"You're looking for a healer."
"Meow."
Whiskers nodded.
"Wrong world, little cat."
Great.
First world.
Already the wrong one.
But the traveler did give Whiskers one piece of advice.
"Try the city of mirrors in the next universe. They know magic there."
Whiskers turned back toward the portal.
The mission wasn't over.
Not even close.
Whiskers traveled through world after world.
Each one stranger than the last.
One world had floating islands where gravity barely worked.
Whiskers spent half the time accidentally drifting into the sky.
Another world was full of tiny dragon creatures that kept trying to steal the wand.
Whiskers chased them through caves and accidentally started a dragon stampede.
In another world he fought a giant magical frog that tried to swallow him whole.
The wand fired a spell that turned the frog into a teapot.
Whiskers stared at the teapot for a long moment.
Then casually knocked it off a cliff.
Mission first.
Tea later.
Finally, after countless portals and strange battles, Whiskers reached a place unlike any world before it.
A giant city built entirely of glass and mirrors.
Buildings reflected the sky.
Streets reflected the stars.
Everywhere Whiskers looked he saw hundreds of reflections of himself.
Cats everywhere.
The place was filled with magical doctors.
Real experts.
Whiskers ran through the streets until he found the largest building in the city.
A glowing hospital for magical creatures.
Inside were healers from dozens of worlds.
One doctor examined Wizard through the portal using a spell.
The healer sighed.
"Ah. The Witch's Endless Sleep." Iy meant it was Bad news.
Very bad news.
Only one cure existed.
A rare flower called Dreamlight Bloom.
It only grew in one place.
A dangerous forest between dimensions.
Whiskers didn't hesitate.
He went straight for the forest.
The place was filled with monsters made of shadows.
Creatures that hunted magic.
Each step deeper into the forest made the wand flicker.
But finally he saw it.
A glowing flower sitting on a floating rock.
Dreamlight Bloom.
Whiskers climbed toward it.
A massive shadow beast rose behind him.
The final guardian.
The creature lunged.
Whiskers jumped.
The wand fired another wild spell.
A flash of light exploded through the forest.
When the light faded, the beast had turned into a harmless shadow shaped like a bunny.
Whiskers grabbed the flower.
Mission complete.
Whiskers raced back through every portal.
Back through strange worlds.
Back through the mushroom forest.
Back into the cottage.
Wizard was still asleep.
Whiskers carefully placed the glowing flower on Wizard's chest.
The magic spread slowly.
Light filled the room.
Wizard suddenly gasped and sat up.
"What happened?" The wizard was confused. Not knowing anything that happened.
Last thing he could remember was fighting off the witch once again.
Whiskers sat proudly on the table glad the wizard awoken from the curse.
The wizard looked around seeing the destroyed room.
Broken furniture.
Open portals.
A suspicious teapot that had followed them back somehow.
Wizard rubbed his head.
"…I feel like I missed something important. You got along story to tell me after we clean this all up. Mr whiskers."
Whiskers simply flicked his tail. The
Adventure was completed but never over.
Whiskers then told wizard everything that happened including that he was cursed and his adventure to find a cure to save him.
While somewhere out there was now infinite worlds to explore beyond the portal filled with adventures waiting for both whiskers and wizard.....
